I had settled for about 5 months at a gym that was close by, but it was dated and not well maintained. The new year was coming up, and I was unhappy at my old gym. Through a mutual friend, I saw he was going to FitLife in East Islip, so I decided to check it out. I was able to try a free 7 day trial, which is always great to have prior to joining. I have now signed up, and it's great as it's month to month, and you're not locked into a contract. The gym is big, and in the main area its open & airy. There are a ton of benches and machines, as well as a ton of free weights. I never feel like I am waiting for what I'm trying to workout. The staff is super friendly, there are always workers walking around and cleaning throughout the day, they keep it really clean. They just updated the locker rooms and are currently installing saunas. That's a huge plus having sauna access. The atmosphere is great, and you can tell everyone is there to better themselves which keeps me motivated. I'm really happy I made the switch over to the gym, and the monthly membership free is more than reasonable.

It was past closing and I was in the locker room and I felt so bad for those employees that were being yelled at. I was uncomfortable to leave the locker room and my husband offered to walk the woman employee to her car. She looked scared but handled it very professionally. She even offered to walk us to our car but we left reallll fast. We offered to call the police but she said the manager will handle it. Both of the employees handled it better than I would've!! Please keep your workers and other customers safe!

Everyone is helpful and I never felt at all uncomfortable or intimidated. Instructors will gently correct posture as they walk through the room and each person is working at their own level. The instructor seemed competent in the postures but I felt as if there was little flow between the movements and the instructor's little "tips" (stories, weight loss advice) were intrusive. I won't be going back. I prefer a yoga studio that is more geared towards introspection rather than tips and tricks to getting a better body.

Took my first OT class here today. It is a new OT to Long Island. I've been to three other OT…read morelocations to have a comparison. It is located in the Bayshore Mall parking lot next to Macys. You enter from the outside of the mall. They have put up helpful orange flags so you know where to park. The gym is immaculate. The front desk staff is super friendly. This is the first location I've been to that has locks on the lockers that you program. Nice touch. I could notice a difference in the coach from the seasoned coaches at other locations. Still trying to find their grove. It is a lot to remember and a lot of timing. That will come with time. I would definitely return. Oh and get some blinds for the front window. Those poor girls at the desk are going to go blind.
