I had called the pharmacy first and they stuck by the price and said I had a price increase. I called the insurance company and the one med still had a zero cost and the other was overcharged by $4.03. It's not a lot of money, but when you add up $9.93 or more here and there, from many people, it can add up to a lot of extra money for Wegmans. This isn't the first time that this has happened to my husband and me. Many seniors don't question their bill amount and they just pay it. I'm not trying to put Wegmans down, I just want to make people aware, not only seniors to ask if the pricing doesn't seem right. Call your insurance company if you have already paid for the meds, to get a refund of the difference. Don't be afraid to speak up. It's your money that you're saving.

They suddenly closed on weekends without any advance notice, the new pharmacist/owner hides in the back & refuses to come forward to personally answer questions about medications, they aren't willing to accommodate requests & the new staff seems to have no knowledge or experience. Such a pity that I can no longer recommend what was once a wonderful small business. Lastly, they apparently decide when to close early whenever they feel like it without advising customers, despite having sent texts to notify them that prescriptions are ready & providing hours of operation in the text. My doctor's office sent the prescription over more than 24 hours ago, so I sent my spouse to pick it up. He was told that I wasn't in the system and that they hadn't received anything. I called my doctor's office, and they confirmed that the prescription had been sent. When I called the pharmacy back, I was then told that they were not accepting new patients for this medication so they just filed it. So how am I not in their system? That was surprising, especially since they filled the exact same medication for my child just last week without any issues. At no point did anyone call to let me know there was a problem. Initially, we were simply told the prescription hadn't been received. There also didn't seem to be any concern that I was now out of a medication I've taken daily for years. I make a point of supporting local businesses whenever I can instead of larger chains, but based on this experience, this won't be the pharmacy our family of five chooses going forward.
