In the world of chain pharmacies- this is not done. One of the major chain stores will not even honor requests for specific manufacturers of generic drugs. By law, these generic medications are allowed a 40% leeway from the original formula. Your heart medication or seizure medication if generic, only has to be 40% as effective- and they are selling it to you. If that's not disturbing enough, these chains will switch to the least expensive (to the chains) every month. It's vulgar, dangerous, and dehumanizing. Finally they said the prescription was sent 30 minutes away to a different location. I asked why that would be since I was at this location and saw the dr at this location. They said they didn't know but wouldn't cancel the prescription to the other location and fill it at this one. I travel to the other location- they say they never got the prescription. I called the minute clinic who said it was sent to the same pharmacy I was seen at originally. We go back. They say they see it is now in a different location. We go there. They have no prescription. 4 cvs and 2 hours of driving later I still have no prescription.

They recognize me by name as I walk in and will often have my order ready by the time I reach the service counter! In times of need, they have arranged to have my critical medications couriered to my home, or shipped to me out-of-state (when allowed). Finally, when an insurance pre-authorization letter threatened to delay my fill, they were able to offer it to me at a cash price BELOW GoodRx and those other coupon services. ​If you are using one of those big chain pharmacies and are frustrated with their long wait times, out-of-stock issues, and poor service, switch to Medical Arts Clayton Pharmacy...you'll be glad you did.
