I went to this CVS because it is closest to me (19602 N R H Johnson Blvd. Sun City West AZ). After enough verbal abuse, I switched to another CVS. My medication quantity changed without my knowing because doctors these days share no details with you anymore. I explained, I get a better deal if it is a 30-day vs 90-day. Rita the pharmacist replied, "I cannot break the tube in half. End of story. Then she said I was taking it wrong. Then she said the pharmacy loses money. I contacted my insurance 3x's agreed with me and was willing to override the Rx change and Rita would not take their call. I complained 3 times to the CVS complaint department and they agreed I was correct and tried to override but not successful. Rita would not change the Rx. I filed a complaint with the attorney general pharmacy board in the state of AZ. I got a call back from compliance. Because the Rx was written in grams it cannot be changed to 30 days. Simple enough. I did more digging. My original Rx's, a cream, was written one full then but today in grams. If the pharmacist had explained to me the doctor wrote it differently, I would have understood. Barking at me; sit, heal, stay was not going to work for me. She would not pick up the phone to talk to me. NO ONE should endure this. This is an adult driven neighborhood. The CVS regional manager was supposed to call me back and never did. I also sent a letter to the CVS Scottdale headquarters' office and nothing. There is also another staff member assisting. She is also grumpy most of the time. It is awful here. Go elsewhere if you can. The other CVS called me to confirm she transferred my refills and was soon to be ready. I did not even ask her to return my call. She was kind. Kindness goes a long way. We all make mistakes, including healthcare professionals. If you are barking at customers, it may be time to move on... The APP is not user friendly. You request for a refill and it says it I ready for pick up then it is not there it resets to order again. There are constant windows needing to be opened to look for the Rx number and other information not on the same Rx page about the same Rx. Who's on first? read more

Refused to take payment information over the phone for an Rx desperately needed for home bound elderly person, so that simple pick up and delivery could be arranged by 3rd party. Their policy makes no sense and is potentially harmful for home bound elderly needing their medication. read more

In line at CVS to pick up my Mom's prescriptions. Been here for 15 minutes two cars ahead of me. I already kicked CVS to the curb for their lousy customer services. The staff is kind of hit or miss with customer service but it's basically a MANAGEMENT PROBLEM, not a people problem. They are seriously under staffed which is the way they choose to do business. Bad customer service is ingrained into their business model. On the plus side waiting this long in line gives me lots of time to catch-up on my email and the WSJ. This CVS is AWEFUL! Rude personnel, long waits and if you have an issue you have a PROBLEM! Because the people there will tell you to go and work it out online or wait on hold for an ungodly amount of time and in my case I had to go back to the store. Eventually I found another pharmacy. read more

The Pharmacy is in the rear of the store, as is the same way with all the CVS Stores I've been in. You can call in your prescription refills or come in and give them the necessary info to get them transferred. CVS has an App that will help you refill you prescriptions with a simple scan of the barcode on the bottle. I had been living in Surprise, AZ for about 5 months and needed some prescriptions transferred and filled. The staff here were efficient, friendly, and very helpful! It was great to have a local place to get my needed medicines. If I come back and run out of my prescription(s), I will surely return here for them! read more

Absolute worst CVS pharmacy to go to! Not only will you wait forever when going inside, but when calling I've waited almost 45 minutes for anyone to pick up the phone and the only way I got through was calling the physician's line. My husband went in earlier today to pick up my TRx (they texted me multiple times stating it was ready), only to be told they do not have a TRx for me. I then get a text stating they are going to return the TRx an hour later. So when I FINALLY get someone on the phone she confirms there is a TRx there. I love this pharmacy , I go here to get anything I need, ESPECIALLY my make up LOL. ;-D Yup! I most of my make up are from here. They are good quality and budget friendly. And what I like about this pharmacy is thier CVS Cards! I like getting weekly coupons and deals, and aside from that , they send you a 25% discount card that you get from the mail monthly which is cool! This one over here in RH Johnson's is very nice, I mean their staffs are amazing! I have two favorites here, Tanya & Janice. Went to drop off my paper prescription at the pharmacy. The girl behind the counter said that she can't except it and it has to be electronically delivered from the dr. I explained that they excepted it two weeks ago! I asked if she could ask the pharmacist, she said no it's the law call you from. She was so so so rude and condescending and wouldn't do anything. She just so rudely turned me away. And guess what, I went to a cvs less than 10 mins away and they excepted it and had it filled in 20 mins!! I work for another pharmacy and it took this location over three weeks to get one patients prescriptions transferred from them. Each time we called the hold was over 30 minutes even on the prescriber line and we were told the fax machine was down. We only ended up getting a third of the prescriptions as the others expired a day before my pharmacist took a verbal for the ones they did have. Now we are stuck calling the patients several different doctors due to the negligence of this cvs. read more

I choose this location because every since I moved to Sun City from Avondale I haven't had any luck with good customer service at CVS well this location happened to be the worst location that I've ever went to in the world this lady name Sylvia who is a tech there answer the telephone when I called after being told that my brain was swollen and I had a serious illness I asked her about my prescriptions and why they weren't filled she hung up on me I called back and I got Sylvia the tech again and she placed me on hold and then transferred me to a voicemail I called back when I was talking to her she cut me off placed me on a hold without notifying me and hung up the phone again at first I thought she did not like Black people but upon visiting the store I noticed that she was speaking to an elderly white male so rudely and did not let him speak cut him off and walked away from him when he wasn't even done talking Sylvia should not be working at CVS and the pharmacy department where sick patients or people who need them serious medication Come to for excellent customer service and education on their medicine this is unacceptable and should not be tolerated by anyone I advise everyone around the world to never visit this store as long as she works there, I have now transferred all of my medication to Frys every time I visit that store pharmacy department every single tech has been absolutely wonderful with great customer service read more

If I could rank this a zero I would. I have been a life long cvs customer and the service I received from Laura at the drive up window was rude and disrespectful. I was told a prescription transfer would be available on a Tuesday and after waiting for 10 minutes at the drive through window for a pick up on a Wednesday I was told it was not available and would not be available for at least another 40 minutes. When I pointed out that I had been told it would be available on Tuesday she repeated that it was not available and pulled in the drawer. No offer to check. No polite voice or phrase. I never write negative responses, but this really annoyed me. I no sooner pulled away from the window and entered traffic than I got a text message informing me that my prescription was ready. And what would it have taken for Laura to actually check when informed it was actually supposed to be ready the day before? read more

The pharmacy was very accommodating and got me in early to get my flu shot and Covid booster. However the pharmacy area didn't look clean. It looked like the floor hadn't been vacuumed in weeks and the plexiglass dividers were splattered and needed to be cleaned. read more

This store has gone down in the last year. The pharmacy is under staffed. When they say your order is ready be prepared to wait longer. One person on the register and many times only one pop person working on preparing order. read more

I don't use the pharmacy at this CVS, however, the selection of items that are odds and ends you may need can be found here. I'm a fan of this store because of its central location in Sun City West. I have bought USB thumb drives, specialty beverages and the occasional OTC medication. This place is right off RH Johnson and Meeker on the south/west corner. There's a financial firm that many of my friends use and I will probably try next to it (Prime Wealth) as well as a doctors office for eyes and a real estate firm (Long Moore). read more

This is the worst place to get your medication from. Your doctor can call your medication at 10 a.m. that morning you call an hour they'll tell you to pick it up within the next hour. Give them a Grace. Of an additional 5 hours and your medication still won't be ready. The morning Pharmacy women are rude and try to get you out of there fast without your prescription! read more

One star is generous. By far this is the worst customer service that I've experienced in quite a while. Last year I picked up my prescriptions at the Osco in Albertsons but after changing Rx plans I was required to switch to CVS. I picked the wrong store. In August upon starting vein treatments I needed to buy compression stockings. The clerk informed me that the person who handled that kind of transaction was on vacation, that no one currently on staff could help me, and another CVS "about 15 minutes away might have what I needed." I asked her if she would call the alternative store and see if my request was available only to be told that she would when "she had the time" and then asked me to move aside in order to serve the next customer. Three customers later I saw that she had no intention of offering any further help (nor did the very disinterested pharmacist). At other times throughout this year I have witnessed numerous instances of other customer service dust-ups while standing in line ranging from clerks being non-responsive to customer requests to actual attitudinal eye rolling. I will be changing my Rx plan back to 2017 specifications and returning to Osco at the first convenient opportunity. read more

Like this CVS, located conveniently off of Bell Rd. And the 60 in Sun City West. Also located across from Banner Del Web. They receive some good cosmetics at this location and the staff at mostly friendly. Keep in mind the hours, they close earlier than some other locations. They have a private parking lot with enough parking to keep you close to the door. read more

The store clerk April signed me up for CarePass without explaining it on. She just said u want 10 free bucks? U just have to sign up for free carepass and its an app u can download or not. She didn't explain the benefits or monthly fee. I am very mad at this situation. The store is 19602 R H Johnson, Sun City. Az. And store #9230. I called store manager Breanna at 623-214-1015. She did not seem to care about my complaint. She directed me to1800SHOPCVS for a complaint. I called that number and its impossible to talk to someone to tell them about complaint so I am doing it here. This store is in a retirement community with elderly people, I cant imagine how many people April has taken advantage of. To top it all off when I called store they couldn't even cancel my membership. They directed me to the CarePass number. So now I have to spend my valuable time calling another number just to get it cancelled. read more

This CVS has the Home Health store inside. The lady named Diane who works there is just great. My mom needed some special order items. Diane was able to measure her and got them right away. They were a lot less expensive then the surgical supply place down the street. My mom and I are very happy with the great service. read more

Yesterday was my first day in an CVS store in many years. Went in to shop for a thermometer....there prices are outrageously excessive!!!

I have had numerous problems with getting medication fills and refills, at this store, and several times it "says" when the medication will be ready, and that keeps getting delayed. Their automated and online system my does not align to the REAL status in my experience. Today I am in a bad predicament because an automated refill prescription for a standard simple prescription medication that is widely prescribed throughout the USA, which was supposed to be ready four days ago, still is NOT, and I have now run out of critical daily generic medication that I desperately need. One time it took me over five (yes 5) attempts for a prescription fill on another simple medication. Thus, this was the final straw for me. I worked in healthcare for decades and understand the prescription process exceptionally well. Thus I was left no alternative but to further escalate the issue to executive leadership and at the state level to the pharmacy board. Sadly, I have been met with "attitude" by pharmacy staff from time to time also. I don't think I have ever posted negative reviews on line, but this one is highly warranted I think. Goodbye CVS, I will be taking my business over to your competitor across the street. I hope their RX services are much better for us seniors. I just hope other seniors don't or aren't going through the nightmare I have been going through. read more
