The store is a mess and is so understaffed that getting anyone to help is difficult. Didn't try pharmacy but I see that CalPERS is moving 600000 people to CVS next year for prescriptions--that 'll be a big joke Can't anyone run a drugstore anymore. Payless and Thrifty are gone. Walgreens is as bad as CVS. What happened to our trusted neighborhood pharmacy that we had when I was young. Target barely has anything--do I have to go to Walmart?? read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Waited in line 15 minutes to pick up a prescription. The hard of hearing and bad-attitude pharmacist (blond woman without a name tag) rung it up, then when I presented her with my GoodRx card, for the best pricing, she told me I should have presented the card before she rung it up, and that she would now have to cancel the transaction and then I would have to wait up to 30 minutes for someone else to re-enter my transaction. I told her I didn't know I had to present the card before she rung up the transaction (in the past, elsewhere, they take the card upon payment). She told me to get out of line and wait. This is the third time I have had to deal with this person in three months. She should not be dealing with customers, since she obviously hates that job. A nice Indian woman pharmacist eventually stepped up and helped me. But if not for her, this CVS pharmacy is just the worst. Be forewarned. read more

They are very understaffed but when you get a willing cashier they can be very helpful. Not all their workers are though. The cosmetics department is almost bare. I think they have a shoplifting problem. The drugs on the shelf expire before you can use them, for example a 365 day supply of allergy medicine and it expires in one month. I like the seasonal products department like holidays or summer toys. The photo department is pretty good. read more

Staff is very nice and helpful however the place is a mess. There are boxes of merchandise all over the store all the time. Not sure why it is never put away. I did ask once and was told that person was on vacation. Staff had to search several boxes to try and locate an item I wanted to buy. read more

Wanted to buy a bottle of wine for dinner. No one at the check out. I yelled "hello" three times. This place is a joke.

The pharmacy department is well staffed and organized along with knowledgeable employees that are friendly and efficient. The remaining areas of the store have been well stocked with items that are always out when I go to Target so this is my go-to store for my meds, vaccines and a few other assorted items. read more

My husband had minor surgery @1pm. An order was sent here shortly after(. @2pm)for pain meds. I went to pickup after work (515ish) and was told they were still working on it. I asked how much longer and was told maybe an hour. I went home empty handed. I returned at 630, waited in line for 5-10 min, and then was told the same thing 'they are working on it'. Grrr. They said they would call us when it was ready. We never received a call. I called them this morning @1030am and was told If that it was ready!!! Wow thanks for the call. It's amazing how rude and lazy the intake/drop-off douche is that works at this place. I'm the only one in line, there to drop off a script and he makes me wait for about 15 mins while he makes copies and does little bits of paperwork that he could've finished up after he puts the script in. And of course bc I have tattoos, I'm treated like a junkie. I ask him how long it's going to take.... he says he doesn't know and that I'll have to ask the pharmacist by getting in the pickup line (mind you, the pharmacist is standing 2 feet away from him). He gave me flack bc the doctor on the script wasn't in their system. I don't f'ng know. It's from the ER. They moonlight all over the Bay Area. He starts to argue with me over it instead of simply calling the info on the script to clear it up. I'm sorry- did I interrupt you from doing your work?????? Meanwhile, the Pharmacist is hitting on one of the girls working at the pickup window. It's so slimy and gross to have to overhear all this when my husband has just gotten into a serious accident and needs his meds. read more

Whomever was the cashier today 11/2/21 between 3:00pm-4:00pm, male with plug earrings would not open a register with a line of people 6/7 deep. He kept directing customers to self checkout registers instead opening a register he had no clue most of the customers don't feel comfortable using them because they will have issues then they end up taking more time trying to figure out the issue or getting help. I'm sure if he had open a register or kept it open, leaving the lighted number on, some customers would have waited for him and some would have gone to the self checkout register anyways. Dude, you're a cashier/ customer service who seems he doesn't want to deal with customers. read more

I had accidentally forgotten my paper mask to come into the store on a very slow day but when I came in and asked the cashier for one, another male employee nearby ( assuming it was the manager? Even worse) proceeded to tell me in so many words we're not going to be doing this anymore, almost in a way of making me feel guilty for asking for it. I replied that FINE since I was just shopping for mascara I'd just hold my sweatshirt up against my face, After that the employee replied that she indeed had the box out and she was giving it to me and there's no need for (ME?!) to be rude plus I'm not allowed in the store without a mask on anyway .... I Asked why they were making me feel bad about asking for one THEN. Her and the male employee threatened to kick me out for responding all the while harassing me about how the pandemic has been going on for two years now in a very rude tone of voice and I should know better, almost as if to make me feel stupid. I was at the pharmacy at 7:28pm, 32 minutes before closing time and the pharmacist (Emma Chu, LIC #73184) refused to fill my prescription because she was too busy (there was one person waiting in line behind me). I explained that I had surgery earlier in the day and was in desperate need of pain medication and antibiotics. She didn't ask to look at the prescription and said no again, in a rude and cranky tone. I reminded her, to no avail, that the pharmacy was open for another 32 minutes. I have been using this CVS pharmacy for more than 3 years. I went to another pharmacy that I have not used before and is much further from my house (I was not driving but was in pain). The employees there were a LOT busier serving a long line of people. Yet, they helped me out and were very cordial and sympathetic. I talked to the pharmacy manager a day later. She apologized for Emma Chu's behavior and acknowledged that 30+ minutes was sufficient time for filling a prescription. She was unable to reference any corporate policy that specified that prescriptions drop-off can be refused 30min prior to closing. I intend to discuss this with the corporate offices also. read more

I have used this pharmacy for 14 years and it has really gone down hill. They are consistently overworked and under staffed as of late. I have had to use them very frequently over the past three weeks and the only way you can get a prescription filled the day your doctor calls it in, is if you go in person, ask to have it filled and then wait. The wait is long as well - usually 45 mins, sometimes 1 1/2 hours. While waiting in line, many other customers were complaining as well. The automated refill line is not reliable, you ask for a time for it to be ready and go there and it's not ready. One woman said she called in 5 hours before, was told it would take 3 hours and when she showed up, it was still not ready. They need to hire more staff on a permanent basis. They also need to give some of their staff lessons on how to be a little more friendly as well. In the past, they were much more efficient, friendly and helpful. Don't know what happened, but whatever it was, it was not a change for the better. read more

I've read other reviews concerning the work load of the staff. I agree, they're always seeming to be very busy. However, the other day I experienced kindness and first-class customer service by the pharmacist. Went in to have my wife's pain medication filled and was at first disappointed to find out the medication would be ready in two and a half hours. I explained that we just got discharged from the hospital, have a newborn at home, and my wife was currently in a large amount of pain. With a smile the pharmacist said she would try her best to get it sooner. She asked for a cell phone number to text when the pain medication would be ready. Got a message from her in an hour saying it was! Someone going above and beyond for another sometimes goes without recognition. Thank you for making me feel like my wife and my situation was important despite a really busy day. read more

I did not use the pharmacy... They have beer, they have pong balls and they have red cups. You can't really beat it for when you are in Scottsdale for Spring Training. Funny thing was, I walked up to the register with pong balls and beer and the lady said "you forgot cups" haha. My buddy was grabbing them at the time and she looked over my shoulder and said, "isle 5... one over!" Pretty funny. She knew what was going on. read more

The main cashier today was less than helpful (around 4 and 5 pm). I was there earlier looking for at home tests when an employee said they expected a truck around 4 with 40 tests on it. So another lady and I showed up of course close to 4 as these are hot items rights now with the surge happening. The cashier gave us a run around that was not polite and went from now the truck hasn't to arrive me and I have no idea if we will have any tests to the truck is here and I know we have two and it's the employees fault for telling you that because she told me the same but she's only worked her a month. Then would just stand there and look past us. I of course came back because I was not convinced, as I walk through same cashier was taping bright yellow signs that stated no at home Covid tests available (which was helpful and fine. Then when I checked out he had also taped one to his chest and told the customer he unwilling was checking out (because he had kept his closed sign out directing all customers to the self check out) I'm just tired of telling people so I'm taping a sign but then riding told me as I walked out with my paid items. I can't speak for the pharmacy, I have only purchased over the counter items there, and they are often pricey, but I expect this from small drugstores. They often have good sales on wine and the regular prices are still cheaper than the liquor store across the street. It's also a very convenient place to go when you need something you forgot or maybe just want some snacks and don't have the energy to deal with the craziness of Safeway across the street. Staff is usually pretty friendly, some of them even have a sense of humor, which seems to hard to come by these days. read more

I had a horrible time at this CVS. We were kicked out for no apparent reason. We were minding are own business, cruising the dirty and decrepit aisle for a Sprite Cranberry and some Hubba Bubba Gum. We then were quite violently force to leave and when I asked why we were being forced to leave the manager did not give an explanation. read more

The CVS's Main Pharmacist, located on Yulupa Ave. deserves a minus or zero rating. This Pharmacist has the worst customer service and lack of inner personal service skills than anyone that I have ever met! I have a very serious chronic and painful disorder than effects my central nervous system which requires pain medication, the same meds that I have been taking now for 10 years. But this particular Pharmacist decided all on her own, without asking me anything about my injury, that she was uncomfortable with the dosage and REFUSED to re-fill my prescription, which obviously my own Dr. and the work comp insurance company, since this is a work comp injury, neither one has a problem with, except this particular Pharmacist, who, again, decided all on her own that I should go without. I will NEVER GO BACK TO THE CVS LOCATED ON YULUPA AVE. ever again, until they get rid of this female Pharmacist, due to the horrible nightmare experience that I had with her! I so miss Tom! The wonderful Pharmacist back when it was Long's Drugs! And, fyi, I'm taking this up the chain to her superiors, who should know why they're losing customers...all due to this rude and awful Pharmacist! read more
