Absolutely terrible customer service. Marvina was rude and had an attitude from the moment she answered the phone, acting like answering a simple question was an inconvenience. She then transferred me to the pharmacist, Kimberly, who was just as disrespectful. Instead of listening to my question or trying to help, she sent me straight to voicemail while I was still in the middle of speaking. I've never experienced such unprofessional behavior from a pharmacy. If you don't want to help patients, you shouldn't be working in healthcare. People call pharmacies with important questions about their medications, not to be treated like they're wasting someone's time. This place seriously needs to improve its customer service. read more

The women working at the pharmacy have the worst attitudes and not just to me. They hadn't even closed yet but they decided to help some older woman and then say sorry we can't help u bye. Must have been a while since I visited a CVS store, I would still go hunt for toys until 2018 ish, when they used to drop exclusive items, but they lost out to Walgreens, and now all they carry is kids basic toys. Although surprisingly they have a great selection of sensual products including toys, made me raise the eyebrows to whom these items cater to. The bathroom has a passcode which you can ask the employees at the counter to help. The cleaning products somehow cheaper than Target but their medicines slightly more expensive for example pregnancy tests. I don't see any over $50 at Target. They do have self checkout kiosks, which is convenient. And they do sell snacks and food, somewhat easy for people to grab if they're in a hurry like me. read more

A few years ago this was a great pharmacy, with great pharmacists and staff. Now it's has really changed and I don't know why. The good employees have slowly gone away being replaced by bad ones. The last time I went to pickup 2 prescriptions will be my last. The irritated lady at the window said they weren't ready, come back in an hour, came back an hour and a half later. She only filled one. I said I need the other one more, she told me my insurance doesn't cover it, so I said I'll pay for it out of pocket, she said fine, go park for 20 minutes and come back. There was an exchange of negative conversation and I ended up going inside and talking to the pharmacist, she then lied to the pharmacist about what she told me, she wouldn't give me her name, she looked very unhappy as a person and just does not belong in a job dealing with people. But she was just the final straw, there have been many problems over the the last year or two. Go to Sharp or your hospital pharmacy. Vons has a policy they won't let you pay out of pocket if your insurance doesn't cover it, so don't go there either. Just don't go to the pharmacy at CVS on Sandrock, it should be even get one star. read more

I recently changed Pharmacys moving from the Friars location to Serra Mesa. The Serra Mesa location is actually farther from my house, however, I made the decision to move after having dealt with one too many screw ups at the Friars location. The straw that broke the camels back was after I walked in to the pharmacy, gave my date of birth to a young female staff member who, after hitting a few computer keys, looked at me and said, "oh, you're dead". Not really knowing how to respond at that second, I replied, "well, I think there's been a mistake", The most disturbing thing was that when she told me of my untimely demise, she did so, in a loud voice, sharing it with customers behind me, next to me, and probably three isles over. She babbled to herself for a couple minutes then explained to me that "someone" had called a few days earlier to report the death of a customer. She then told me that CVS had mistakenly erased MY prescription and insurance history All 20+ years of it. When I asked her how this could happen, she said "oh, it was just me, I made a mistake". As a result of her mistake, I was unable to fill any prescriptions because according to their system, I was dead. It didn't matter that I was standing there with a prescription bottle in hand, my ID, etc., because according to CVS computers, I was dead and they could not create a new file for me because their system would not allow them to do that on a "dead customer". So I had to explain this situation to my doctors because none of my prescriptions were being filled or refilled. One of my doctors simply refused to believe that this could happen and told me she was not going to call my prescriptions in to another pharmacy and that I needed to "get it fixed" . As a result of this mistake, I spent the next three or four months fighting with the staff at CVS trying to get them to understand that I was very much alive, and that there had been a problem. Each staff member, and the one after, and the one after were oblivious to my situation. After a while, when I would walk in, everyone would hide their faces in shame, because nobody could figure out what to do. The system simply would not allow them to fill a prescription for somebody who was deceased. After NUMEROUS attempts I was finally able to find a pharmacist who was able to put in override codes and do a bunch of technical stuff and fixed the system so it would accept prescriptions. My reported "death" screwed up my insurance billing as well. It took about four or five months before that was straightened out. Insurance companies that I have never heard of ended up on my account. So I went to theCVS in Serra Mesa. I wanted to meet the pharmacist. I explained my situation and asked if he might be able to help me since there were still some problems that the old CVS hadn't quite ironed out. He was extremely polite and assured me that they would make sure my medication's were filled timely, etc. My experience with the new pharmacist was so positive I immediately made arrangements to have all my medication's moved. For the first couple months, I had the best of service and could not have been happier. However, since then, my experiences have been anything but positive. I have a complex medical history. I have long-standing chronic illnesses, which unfortunately require a myriad of medications. Dealing with the staff at this CVS has been anything but positive. I do not know what happened to the pharmacist I originally spoke with. He may still be there but I am not sure of this. Unfortunately, there have been problems getting medication's that I need. When a refill isn't filled, as a customer, I have no way of knowing why that happens. Customers have no choice, but to call the pharmacy to inquire. There is no other way to find out what the status of a medication refill is but to call Judging from the accent, the staff member I have spoken with is Asian. That's all I know as far as identification. But what I will say is she is always rude. She definitely does not have time to be bothered with my problem, nor does she care whether my medication isn't obtainable, and has no interest in finding out whether any other CVS might be able to help. She's very curt and more than willing to let me know how unimportant I am. After all, I am taking up her valuable time. That's how she makes me feel. And I'm sure I'm not the only one Unfortunately, I HAVE to call the pharmacy when my medication's don't get filled. I have no other choice. And I do not think we should have to grovel for help. read more

I don't think this store is ever cleaned or restocked. The store just looked filthy when I walked in. I understand we are in a pandemic & shipments are being delayed but this is a whole other story. the shelves were either empty or just messy with random things scattered or knocked over. I waited a few minutes in the pharmacy line, with 2 cashiers working. At the front of the store I used self checkout & needed staff to check my ID. It took maybe 10 mins for someone to come. It was a female manager. She was some incredibly rude & unprofessional. She was snapping at me as if I am the one who designed the self checkout register. read more

Never too busy, and tons of parking. This used to be a good location to visit to load up on liquor before a Chargers Game. Those days of heading down to the Q are long gone for me but I still visit this particular store as my friend who is single and has a bachelor pad lives a few blocks away. Terrible pharmacy service. Had the Dr call in the prescription to them, they don't have it and won't transfer to a cvs that does. Have to jump through hoops to have the Dr try to recall it in be he can't until he is out of his next surgery. All while in pain post surgery. They could care less. I live rather close to this CVS but rarely shop here so it could be a one off. I only came in for 1 item but I was immediately followed based on how I look. Like I get it, I work in security for a retailer and you have to do you job to stop shrinkage, but at least I'm teaching my team to NOT be biased. There were 2 employees at the registers and all of a sudden 1 of them walked by the aisle I was in and asked "if I needed help", then when he realized I wasn't doing anything he kept walking. I walked right behind him so he would know I wasn't stealing, then he "suddenly stopped" for no reason and had me walk pass him. Like come on my guy, don't stereotype folks, learn from it and grow. I had to switch pharmacies because of the horrible service. Every week I had issues with a prescription and multiple accounts that don't have my insurance attached. I'd call and usually would get hung up on or not answered at all. If they did answer they'd put me on hold for Albert long periods (15-30+ mins) Or the tech would pretend not to hear me even though I can still get the people in the pharmacy on my end and hang up. Plus the reports of the company filling the wrong meds in the wrong prescription at their Samdrock location. It wouldn't surprise me on bit if they messed with my meds at that location too. read more

I had a serious headache and was on the road. I made quick stop here to pick up a small bottle of Advil, a 25 count for $5. This particular brands usually works quite well for me. The price was average and sometimes you cane find it on sale for about $3.99 for the same size bottle. This CVS is on the newer side and larger than most I have been to. The store was pretty well organized and stocked when I came in. Customer service was okay but they need to open more register lines when lines form, not just because they take their time ringing customers up, but just because it's good business. They have one of those three's a crown rule. Also, it's okay to crack a smile. On a good note, I got them pills and my headache went way in about 15 minutes. read more

One patient forgot his Albuterol Inhaler at home this morning. He needs it to breathe. My boss sent me over here to pick up an Albuterol Inhaler for our patient as well as half a dozen tubes of KY Jelly. We treat numerous hemorrhoid patients. Their stock is severely depleted. This is my local cvs and very convenient. The parking lot can be a little shady and a bit over crowded due to the gym and other businesses in the area. This location is usually well stocked and contains self check out for quick and easy in and out. They have a pharmacy as well as a drive thru pharmacy and a photo center. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Great for coupling although they literally give you the world's longest receipt. read more

I used to live down the street from this store, and I mainly frequented this store for alcohol because it's the closest thing and if I'm lazy to drive to Walmart, and its cheaper than going to the liquor store next door too. But they usually always have what I need, and I'm always in and out in minutes. Sometimes I like to stroll down the beauty aisles to see if anything is on sale. This review is for the pharmacy and not the rest of the store. I've been using this pharmacy for many years, and while I can get most of my prescriptions without too many issues, there is one prescription that is a common drug but that they frequently don't have in stock. They have taken up to 3 weeks after I ran out of the medication to restock it at times when there was not a national shortage of the medication or supply chain issues. That seems very excessive to me. Now I'm past due for another refill and am getting that out of stock message again. When I just called about it, the person who spoke to me was rude and unhelpful. Even though this store is close to me, I think it's best for me to find a more reliable pharmacy. read more

He greeted me upon arrival to the store with a smile & he even helped me to find the price of an item I was looking at. The pharmacy staff Arylynn & Uyen are the worse examples of skilled customer service reps. They were both extremely rude and not helpful; for this, I'd never return to this CVS for pharmacy needs. I am a caregiver & I was dropping off a script for a patient. Due to HIPPA the agency I work for provides minimal information to the staff. Arylynn kept asking me for patient info that I couldn't answer. When I informed her that I didn't have that info, she insulted me by assuming I didn't do my job correctly. read more

I used to love this location, but the drive through covid testing makes picking up medications a nightmare. People take 15 minutes to swab their nose; like seriously how long should this take. Get the kit, park, and put the sample in the box. The location was absolutely amazing before the covid testing. Now it's too slow to get medications and leave. I actually parked, went in to Costco, got my stuff and checked out in half the time it took for two cars in front of me to finish. I mean it's horrible... absolutely horrible. Find another location that doesn't do the covid testing because fokes... it will take you way too long to get your meds and get out. Used to be 5 minutes now it's 45 minutes. CVS get those covid testing people to park or use the other lane for people to get medications. read more

The worst experiences I've ever had with ANY pharmacy.... inconsistent service and "regulations". Seems like nobody knows what they're talking about. One night I can get my medicine filled in 15mins - and the next month they can't fill the same one until the next day because they have to call my dr since her office is in Ramona..... I've had the same dr for years...and nobody has ever had to call her, even at different CVS locations. I've been coming here since it's close to my house, but I'm going to start going to Costco instead because this place is not worth the hassle.
