First of all, the hours stated here are incorrect. They open at 8, not 7. I walk in at 8:12. No line. I'm told by the pharmacy tech that she's in the process of rebooting her terminal and it will be a minute or two. No problem. Then, another pharmacy tech - let's call her Ms. Sunshine (50s, caucasian, dark hair pulled into a bun, angry demeanor) - snaps at me: "Besides they were in line before YOU!" I look, and there are two women on their phones, seated against the wall. I reply: "Okay." I didn't try to cut the line they weren't standing in; I just walked up to the the pick-up window line, was the only person standing in it, and the tech spoke to me. That's it. The terminal comes online, the women go ahead of me. A new woman joins the line behind me. Ms. Sunshine (who wasn't working a terminal) decides to open a terminal and take the woman BEHIND ME in line because she "has her barcode" ready. Are you kidding me? I eventually get to the front of the line. The first tech helps me because, of course, Ms. Sunshine is slow, needs overrides, and is still helping the person she gave preferential treatment to. This is a simple transaction. There is no need for attitude and garbage customer service. I came in with neutral energy and walked out livid. Clean it up, CVS. read more

I have noticed customer service at Balboa Ave have significantly improved. There are a lot more workers on the floor now. While I was shopping I had 3 people asked me if I needed to find anything or need any assistance and the line at the register is going a lot more smoothly. It felt less stressful and I felt more love at this store. I will be coming back to support this store. Everyone looked happy. Good energy and good vibes are back! read more

They have kept filling my script with a medication that has giving me SEVERE ADVERSE REACTIONS, don't follow my psychiatrists directions, lied to my face and keep pulling my request out of their system to fill my script with the correct one and keep filling the medicine eith the one that puts my mental and physical ability at severe risks. I will be reporting them to the state. They do not care about your well-being at ALL. I'd advise anyone with special needs to stay FAR AWAY from this pharmacy as I can assure you they will treat you and your medication the same way they have treated me. read more

Everything this is a horrible CVS full of rude, unprofessional management! Stay Away. Pharmacist John deceitfully told me to sign for 60 tablets and there were only 30 tablets in the bottle. Said to figure it out, wanted me to sign and I said I disagree that's illegal. It took him 45 minutes in the end to tell me he couldn't help me and then I was only gonna get 30 of the 60 tablets. Told me to see his manager the next day and his name is Hai. Upon returning to CVS the next day, I was shocked by what I soon discovered. He too was horribly rude and treated me like dirt. All he wanted to do was argue with me and back up his team member as if there's a scam going on. I asked for him to have his manager call me and he assured me he would and I still haven't heard back from him. This really put a bad taste in my mouth and I will not return there for anything ! Unfriendly staff with no sense of customer service whatsoever. And this place is so dirty! The carpet by the pharmacy is disgusting and looks like it hasn't been cleaned in a very long time. There is some sort of liquid spill with powder on it that has been there for two days, I had the unfortunate experience having to go back twice because my daughter's prescriptions weren't ready when the app said the would be. I always procrastinate about the whole Christmas card thing. "Should I do them, should I not. Don't these people see us enough on social media?" My husband, who has never written a single one, wants ME to send them every year mainly because he likes receiving them.. He should write them, right? (Alright, I like receiving them too.) Anyway, I usually succumb around the 15th so when I finally make my mind up to sit down and do them, I want them ready fast... That's where CVS comes in. I put the card together on my computer (changing my mind on the photos at least a dozen times), ordered them, got dressed, put on make up (because God forbid I leave the house without it and I run into someone I know) fix my hair (somewhat) and head over to my local CVS (where this is virtually the only thing I buy there every year) and they were ready. Now all I have to do is write a personalized message on each one (because I hate receiving cards that have no human writing on them and it feels like a robot sent them...) and this should take the better part of the afternoon (while the hubby does God knows what). I was actually looking large rolled gauze. They had some that were a little larger than the Walmart offering so I took it to save me a trip to Walmart. The gal at the counter was I'm guessing a little more pleasant than the self serve robot that was trying to steal her job. I tried to engage her in conversation but she was either hard of hearing like me, or so focused on ringing up my bill that she didn't hear me. I felt that the cost of my purchase was purdy much like the competition. I was not happy that in order to use the restroom you had to seek out a staff member as it was locked with a sign idirecting me to seek out an associate. A task easier said than done.I can't comment on the cleanliness of the restroom because I decided to tough it out and go elsewher. Over all the store was clean and we'll stocked. I felt that the aisles were sufficiently wide enough to handle the customer traffic. I liked that the shelves weren't really high. An average size person as myself will have no trouble reaching things from the top shelf. Being a Senior, I'd be more likely to reccomend this CVS If the restroom was either unlocked or in some way more accessible for seniors. read more

The worst pharmacy expierence in the history of the universe. I cannot believe people actually decide to come here to fill ANOTHER prescription. There is zero urgency, the staff is unbothered and the service is atrocious. What is the point in having a drive thru if I could literally call my doctor and have my prescription sent to a different company, walk all the way to New York and get a bacon egg cheese bagel and WALK BACK before I even get my prescription. As I write this, they have served 1 single person in 20 minutes and my daughter has aged 2 years, we just celebrated her 4th birthday, too bad mom wasn't in the car with us to celebrate. Once again, this pharmacy shocks me at the lack of communication between the front of the store and the pharmacy. At the front of the store there is a large sign advertising "walk-ins" for Covid vaccinations. But when you show up at the pharmacy, they claim they don't offer and never have offered walk-in appointments. I take a picture and show them the front-of-the-store sign. "Walk-in Covid 19 shots" it boasts. Technician shakes his head and says, we do walk-ins on the weekend. Maybe take the sign down? read more

NEGATIVE ZERO STARS CHANGING PHARMACIES!!! My prescriptions were transferred to CVS because Rite Aid was closing. I understand there is going to be problems and little glitches, however they knew that Rite Aid was closing, and they were not prepared. My first problem with them was trying to use their phone system, which seem not to be working correctly when I went to pick up a prescription a couple weeks ago said something to the manager about the automated system and he just shrugged his shoulders and said it's a glitch. I could not imagine an older person tried to navigate through their automated system. Called a couple days ago to refill some prescriptions. I was able to put one prescription through their automated system then I had to call back seven times to be able to get the option to leave a message. Somebody called me back. Told me a BS story about my insurance stuff and that's why I couldn't have refilled it myself. He told me he took care of it and it would be ready in a couple hours. Two days later I go to pick up my prescriptions. I'm in immense pain happy that I get to go through the drive-through to get my prescriptions. The drop up window was closed. I walked in and stood in a rather long line to have the checker tell me that one of the prescriptions was not processed and she didn't know why. She sent me over to the drop off counter which had another long line. I woman i was talking to the woman there she said something about that my insurance wasn't gonna pay for something she wasn't making sense and I used my ointment too fast.. I started to lose my s**t. I asked her why that person two days ago told me that it was taken care of and I could've picked it up that day in the afternoon?? AND why didn't anybody call me and tell me there was a problem with the prescription, because I could've talked to my doctors or figured something else out. read more

Everytime I come to this pharmacy theres a line with 8 plus people waiting and once you get through they say you need to go to drop off because they can't find your prescription. I don't expect a pharmacy to be perfect but they can hire more pharmacy technicians and upgrade their system. This is poor management. It seems so chaotic and everybody looks frustrated. I love cvs for all the deals and rewards! I always use a coupon that I print from the kiosk at each visit for savings. I came last week and asked Lisa to assist me with the lashes since they were locked. She was super friendly and gave me excellent tips on how to use my coupons! She went out of her way to explain other deals which I really appreciated. I've been shopping at cvs for 10+ years but have never had someone show me ways to use different coupons to save! I came here to get some photos of a special event printed from my cellphone. While I'm seated at the picture kiosk, a woman came in to have passport photos taken. The pull down background for passport photos protruded into the area where I and another customer were ordering prints. The employee told the woman who was getting passport photos, "You don't want THAT in your background!" I knew exactly what (and who) they were talking about. It was rude of both of them. No apology offered to me. Employees should keep their nasty comments to themselves. Also, they can move the pull down passport background over a bit, so it's not in the way of those who are trying to get photos printed. I felt very disrespected. read more

Did you know that you can create your own gift cards? I was looking for a card to go with a gift that i bought for a friend who just bought a house. It was a pretty specific gift and wanted a specific card to go with it. After searching many grocery stores, pharmacy stores, and even Hallmark stores, i was unable to find what i was looking for. I did find a few cards online that would work but they would cost $5 + $10 shipping. After looking at the CVS website, you can upload your own photo and type whatever message you want on the cover, inside and even back. So i was able to get the exact card that i wanted with the correct picture, exact wording, everything. The only thing is that it takes awhile to create and ship to your designated store (maybe a week or two), so you have to plan ahead. But then again all GOOD gifts have lots of thought and effort put into them. Best of all its only like $3 including an envelope, that's the same price as an off the shelf card maybe even less if you get a fancy one! read more

Worst cvs pharmacy ever. If you have a choice go to a different one, the staff here is slow and always seems to be confused. Worst one ever.

Operations are killing this business. Here's why. They charge more than Costco; the least of my concerns. To check out I am required to sign off using someone else's name! I complain. On three occasions they say they have corrected the problem. They have not. Now the pharmacy manager admits they cannot make the change. He says only a call to the district leader will solve the problem. I protest. The pharmacy's manager now withholds my prescription until I submit is his leverage. He wants to determine if my phone number and the phone number of the other person are different. They are. He requires me make a call to the district leader. The number he gives me does not take me to the district leader. It is a central number that now requires me to explain the problem to someone else. This person now requires ( REQUIRES) me to submit a case number. I am now asked to wait on hold while this person types up the issue. I explain the primary elements of the problem: Privacy and Operations. Only after writing up the problem does he get back to me. I've been on hold so long now I'm driving. am I given a case number. I am driving when he is finally prepared to give me a case number. I now cannot write down the case number as I am driving. When I ask this person to text me the case number he says say he cannot.The CVS system only allows automated texting. read more

This has been my go - to pharmacy for the 5 years. There have been many issues and hiccups but I know they were often understaffed. Today, phew when you try to charge me $300 for a prescription I sent my insurance info in for, don't fulfill the prescription correctly, and then tell me to come inside to wait lol. I have a sick 3 year old. I am incredibly disappointed and felt shamed that I did something wrong. I have never felt more disregarded and disrespected by a pharmacy. Please have your staff go through empathy training or hire more people. read more
