The worst of the worst! It's a pharmacist's job to DISPENSE medication, not PRESCRIBE it. Yet, time and time again they attempt to usurp my physicians prescriptions and question ands harass me regarding my "medical conditions" to warrant certain prescriptions (which is in their records since I've been a customer of over 10 years and pick up the SAME scripts EVERY month). To question a costumer, in the earshot of other costumers, about prescriptions and medical conditions is potentially setting that customer up, putting them in harms way for an assault and theft outside as they leave! This is blatant HIPPA VIOLATION!!! They do not have any consistency with how they handle IDs, either. For over 3 years I've been using my digital iPhone VALID drivers license and today, they want the physical license...even though the "Silvina" (sp) East Indian long haired female pharmacist (who consistently works a register as a cashier) "allowed" me to use it 2 pick ups ago, today she says it was a "courtesy " for the last pick up. She denied it then and when I requested the pharmacist, she proudly stated, "I AM the pharmacist"...then I said, "well, then, you should know this is an acceptable form of ID"...and another pharmacist came over and said to accept it. I thought she learned, but, she flat out LIED today to say "as a courtesy"...and they denied me my medication. NOBODY INFORMED ME IT WAS A COURTESY AND TO BEING MY ACTUAL DL "next time"! I don't carry a purse. EVERYTHING is in my phone. I LYFT to the pharmacy so when they pull this crap (question my medication, question dosages, ask what medical conditions I have to warrant certain prescriptions, etc)...I have to pay for the transportation TWICE. I've lived in the neighborhood for 33 years and am a homeowner and they are unfortunately the only pharmacy left in the area (Bel Air was amazing but they closed)...and since then I've used CVS... and it's AWFUL...long lines, super poor consumer service they know they can get away with. Violating basic human rights. This place needs to be shut down! Uneducated, poorly and inconsistently trained pharmacists AND staff...nothing like how it used to be. I worked side by side with a pharmacist/best friend for 13 years in the same office and NEVER did he question a doctor's prescription. Ever. They are getting so egotistical and just STUPID and are doctor wannabes who think THEY PRESCRIBE...WRONG!! Their job is to DISPENSE. If they've an issue with it, contact the doctor so they can tell you to do your job instead of me having to!! I'm looking elsewhere. CVS loses another solid customer and CVS Corporate Headquarters is stupid because the pharmacists do not care how many customers CVS has (or loses) as long as they get paid. Here's today's CLOWN OF THE DAY who, by the way, would not give me her name to report to Corporate Headquarters. Corporate Headquarters does not provide either. She comes to register with mask on and glass partition to speak to a hearing impaired customer?! Ridiculous!! I told her I was impaired and she did NOTHING to accommodate my disability (ADA VIOLATION). Hides her huge ego and idiotic behavior behind the mask). Typical CVS pharmacist/tech! Ask yourself why! The quality of Pharmacists they are signing on is AWFUL. They are transient poorly educated (usually out of country), poorly trained excuses of pharmacists who JUDGE all who come to them...even when *some* have been reprimanded professionally for controlled substance abuse. Yep! It's public record. Not a problem because I know how to retrieve full names from CA State Board of Pharmacy. Not my first rodeo!! Stupidity all around. Just shameful. read more

I've used this CVS to pick up prescriptions, allergy medicine, and odds and ends over the years. For some reason this is a very popular spot, there is parking available but sometimes you need to find a spot a bit further away from the store. If parking is busy it's typically a sign that it's going to be a longer visit. The pharmacy has been pretty efficient when I've visited and the team has been friendly. I typically avoid getting in the front line, for some reason it's always long and they seem understaffed because it can take a lot longer than when I visit the pharmacy. I'm happy to have this location in the area, but I think some additional staffing could help them out. read more

I stopped by this CVS looking for some supplies when I was in the area. While it isn't CVS's fault, the parking lot for this location is strange with how it planned in ingress and egress of cars. While there, I witnessed two separate incidents where folks barely avoided a collision. Inside the CVS, there were a few employees near the front, but the store seemed almost abandoned. The aisles were not fully stocked, and the place had a disheveled feeling. I left not being able to find what I was looking for. In all fairness, I didn't ask for help, but the staff members didn't seem too interested in helping either. I'll find another CVS or competitor store to in the future and skip this location. read more

This CVS store seems too big for its business needed with the business model they're doing nowadays. The store has many empty shelves and even empty spaces. I feel like I'm shopping in a warehouse with not enough products fill up the space! The store also looks dated and due to a remodel! However, the store looks clean and the employees are friendly. The price of the household items are about the same of most of the other stores. But the selection is limited. The pharmacy is not as busy as most of the CVS stores I have visited. It's real unfortunate that this is the only CVS nearby in this area. This is by far one of the worst. Don't expect to get any assistance if you need anything that requires an employee. Most items are out of stock and employees don't even know what they do or don't carry or even where it is. And if the older lady is on the register then expect to be waiting in line for at least 15 min. Everytime she is working there is a line all the way to the pharmacy 2x I had to leave the store and was unable to purchase my items because of the delayed customer service and checkout delays. read more

This location is atrocious. The only good part about it is the older lady that works in the morning. She's so sweet. But everything is locked up, if you need anything you have to wait forever. They have very limited items. People constantly steal and they do absolutely nothing about it. The homeless outside are vulgar and intrusive. It's just a mess. I rang the customer service button and waited for almost about 15 minutes for a simple lotion. and no one came. but a good amount of employees were out on the floor. when I came and addressed my issue the cashier said someone will come assist me and sent me back over to aisle 28. I sat for another 15 minutes until I got fed up and came back to the register with my grandfather over the fact that I didn't get my lotion and it's been over 30 minutes. in the end, I ended up getting necessities but the moral of this comment was that they have terrible customer service. read more

This is the absolute worst pharmacy to use. Nothing is ever ready, the staff is always slow and they will always seem to ask you to wait 10 to 15 minutes for something that can be done in five minutes. This store needs to close. Every time I go in it's not a pleasant experience. Usually there's garbage outside on the sidewalk and parking lot. Half the shelves are empty and most inventory is locked up. Kaiser recommended I buy something for my eyes but they were sold out. They gave me a printout and said I should be able to find it at most drugstores. I go to this CVS with the printout which I see was from Amazon. CVS had the product for twice the cost at Amazon. I can see paying slightly more for convenience, but twice? I asked the cashier if they price match. She looks at the print out and says it's less at Amazon so I should buy it there. Which I did and it will be delivered tomorrow. Don't waste your time or money at CVS. read more

CVS gets a bad wrap, and probably deservedly so. I haven't had many experiences above mediocre at one of their stores. However, I did bring my mom to this particular location to get her COVID shot and both the service and process were close to painless (with the exception of one employee checking us in), so it deserves a good review. First off, this is one of the most spacious CVS shops I've been in. We went to the back where they had a setup with a check-in, an area where the shot is administered and a place for folks to sit in case they feel after effects. The guy with long hair who checked us in was nothing special. He basically mumbled some things, sat there looking down and shaking his leg and cursing his forehead thermometer. The lady who administered the shot, on the other hand, was super sweet. She told us what to expect, patiently answered my mom's questions and overall was very nice. I can't speak to your everyday shopping experience here, but based on the way they are doing shots, I would recommend! read more

I don't normally end up at this CVS since I live on the other side of Natomas but this was only place that had what I needed at the time, at home covid tests. When the pandemic was just starting to ramp up last year, I decided that we needed some at home tests just in case it was coming our way. I have a heart kid and it would mean immediate hospitalization if he gets sick so I wanted to take some precautions. I walked in and asked a worker where I could find them and she told me behind the counter at the front and asked how many I needed. She told me 2 come in each box so I requested 3 since there are 6 of us in my family. She rang me up, told me about some special discount and the care plan (or whatever it's called) and how I would receive more discounts and it was only $5 after the first month. I could cancel anytime. Since I come to CVS quite often for random things, I agreed and signed up. Everything was quick and I was out of there in less than 15 minutes. The store was pretty clean when I was there. There were a few customers since it was the middle of the day when most people are at work. There was a commotion outside of the store but I was able to avoid them completely when the manager came outside to de-escalate the situation. I appreciate that. He was still very polite and made sure all of his customers were safe. There's plenty of parking even though it shares it's location with a couple of restaurants. It's not a bad place to shop. The workers are friendly. They assist you when you need help and they are always around. Most places like this it's so hard to find someone to help you. I don't mind coming here for what I need since the one closer to where I live is always lacking, it's a mess and there's always some commotion inside the store. Thanks for being a welcoming place to shop and getting what I need and getting out. Love that I can be efficient and save money at the same time thanks to your awesome staff. read more

It's usually clean and relatively quiet when I've gone in there today was the same. The only reason I gave four stars is because they didn't have anything to put your items in, no carts...no baskets either..: "come shop here but we don't have any receptacles for you to carry your items in....but we want you to shop here!" Ummm hello, you can offer the customers a bag to carry around with them. You can label the bag as temporary and tell them they need to relinquish the bag when they check out. Or you can put some kind of plastic thing on the carts and the cashier can make a check mark when the person returns the carts. Or you can get carts that have a long metal rod on them that stops the cart from getting through the door; so the customer can't even take the carts out of the store. They can go back and forth with their items to their car. Blustery some ideas. read more

I was surprised at how sketchy this location was. I stopped because I needed contact solution stuff and this was the closest pharmacy to my hotel. It's always nice to start with an aggressive panhandler at the door - when I told her I don't carry cash she said "well let's go to the ATM". Ahhhh no, no we won't. Inside it's a large store but stock was low/non existent on many items. Like whole shelves had big gaps where items were supposed to be but weren't. Clientele in general was on the shady side too. Went to this location because it's in my neighborhood. I had an infant sick at home and needed medicine fast. I enjoy the deals cvs offers. Upon entering the store The workers at this location appeared unenthusiastic & did not want to help me while I was in store. One of the girls had music playing loudly from her phone . The first place I went was to coupon kiosk because my phone battery was dead I had no access to the app . It wouldn't print I asked a worker and she said "it's not working we have to call in someone to fix it" , I shopped around a bit then finally wanted to check out . When I asked if there were any deals on my cvs account the cashier said "no", when I clearly had my monthly $10 deal. The security guard told me in line they were replacing the paper in the kiosk . After waiting a few more minutes it was replaced and the worker walked away. My coupons got" jammed" didn't come out . Finally after a few minutes a worker found me in line and gave me my coupons that printed out . Everyone had a bad attitude. I didn't want to come back , but had to the next day . I added several coupons and extra bucks to my account . The person checking me out rescanned me several times and asked "do you want to use all of coupons". I replied yes . She said "well you can just save some for next time " and rescanned my items again . I had to basically argue with her to use my coupons.... ridiculous. The CVS store itself has been remodeled and is large, bright and clean. It good wine buys and most of the cashiers are very helpful and nice. That is for the 1 star. THE PHARMACY is a MESS!!! I don't blame the staff, but a few of the pharmacists are a NIGHTMARE! I have heard them yell at the staff, take LONG breaks, SHOW up very late and close early. Its terrible. PLUS they are UNDERSTAFFED - you will have 2 hardworking staff members and a line snaking down the aisles. I do not know if it is the management (which is weak by the way- I used to go in every few days and NEVER saw the manager - he was always in the back) or the store policies. WHY ARE THEY SO UNDERSTAFFED? The pharmacy automated phone refill line is also a train wreck. You can call and the automated system- it will confirm your refill, and then when you show up it is NEVER filled. So instead of 1 easy step you have to get the auto refill on the phone, and then CALL THE PHARMACY to make sure its filled. Hassle. I would just call the pharmacy directly, wait on the phone for 5-10 minutes for them to get to my call (again, short staffed) and order. TERRIBLE PHARMACY. I transferred everything out after months of mistakes, driving back and forth 2x a day to get a single prescription filled, and the long lines. NOTE: ALSO, the "wonderful" CVS deals they advertise in the paper- are never there! The ad will run on Sunday, you walk in on Sunday afternoon and the items are not there. The manager says they stock on Wed- and to come back. EXCUSE ME? Shouldn't you have what is advertised? Strange. read more

No matter the time of day, it will take you 30+ minutes to get in and out. I don't know if they are understaffed, just super slow, or if it's the people they have to deal with when checking people out, but I've been to this CVS numerous times and have always had to wait 30 minutes or more to get check out. I'm a sucker for all the CVS coupons and sales gimmicks. I can't say it saves me cash, but it does provide an element of entertainment for me (and seems like every visit is an exercise in Common Core Math). I'm familiar with the layout of this CVS, so I usually can find the items I'm looking for without having to stroll down every aisle-plus the small size of this location makes it easy, too. The downside to this CVS is the cashiers aren't very generous helping customers save more with the various discounts. Customer service, in other words, is lacking at this location. In some ways I think that's harsh because I know this is a challenging neighborhood for businesses-oh well. But, I'm gonna go with an overall rating of 3-stars. read more

Contrary to what Kirk told me on 29 May, photo prices at CVS Pharmacy haven't changed. The photos I picked up that day should have cost $10.20, as my photo-order receipt indicated, not $17.85, according to a top manager of CVS Pharmacy No. 2290, where Kirk is a cashier/manager. "You shouldn't have paid the price over what the receipt was," Kirk's supervisor, who identified himself only as Leo, told me by phone two days after I was deliberately overcharged. Kirk, an African American, is one of 2290's most popular employees, Leo said. "Customers come in asking for him by name because they want to deal with him," Leo said. "I don't understand why he was so unprofessional with you." I can think of many other words to describe how Kirk treated me, but Leo chose "unprofessional." It's part of CVS's attempt at damage control. I told Leo I am a news reporter, now semi-retired, and that I had posted an immediate complaint on Yelp. "We want our customers to be happy," Leo said. "Next time you have photos, please call ahead and I'll personally take care of you." I declined his request. As of this writing I have not received a refund from CVS, nor do I want one. My main concern: Why me? Why did Kirk treat me with such contempt? Why did he target me? Did he think I was an easy mark, someone who would remain silent? I also ask myself: Why did Kirk talk down to me, as if he was talking to a 10-year-old, when I am a 63-year-old Hispanic?
