CVS is my go to when it comes to get batteries because they always have them in stock and usually I'm not able to find them anywhere else. Stopped here around 8pm and the new location looks nice. Haven't been here since they opened up, but I use to go to the one that use to be across the street of Woodside Rd. There was no employee in sight, but I was just getting batteries. They did have two self checkout register which is great because I was in and out quick. There is a pharmacy and the parking lot is spacious. read more

They had one cashier and no check out. I stood in line with a single item, visibly pregnant and exhausted, while the cashier argued with the gentleman in front of me about the price. After 20 minutes of patiently waiting I asked her very politely if I could please buy the allergy medication I needed as I needed to pick up my toddler and she literally rolled her eyes at me, said "you could if we had a second check out" and then went right back to arguing with the man like nobody else in the world existed. Went to pick up a prescription for which I received a message that it was ready. I drove there on Sunday afternoon but unfortunately learned the pharmacy is not open at all on Sundays. The online information indicates the pharmacy is open. While the pharmacy was not open on Sunday, someone was working inside the pharmacy. I suggested to her that she tell a manager to correct their online hours. It seemed her response was that I should provide that information to someone in the front of the store. There seemed to be one cashier who was directing everyone to the self-checkout line. I just came back from the new CVS pharmacy in Redwood City Broadway location. I brought in my disposable camera to have my film developed. The young lady behind the counter told me that they no longer develop deposable cameras. This is not true as I looked on line CVS website at their location where CVS not only develops disposable cameras but also sells them. I'm perturbed because this woman lied to me doesn't know what she is talking about turned me away. On March 21, 2024 around 5:45. I feel that the lady being the only one behind the counter didn't want to be bothered! And asked me if I wanted her to throw out my disposable camera which I thought was very strange... I find it awful that they had to move to a new location because they want to build more and more apartment buildings which are unnecessary where they used to be really great businesses, CVS had to move across Woodside Road because they're closing the shopping center where used to be, the new location has not opened yet, but I've moved the map so that it's already located at the new location, the new location from the outside looks stunning and more modern, newer and more beautiful, the big CVS logo, when entering the store with the heart and a photo of all employees is very nice touch read more

This pharmacy is never open, and they never pick up their phone so you can't call ahead to find out if they're open. Their actual hours do not match their posted hours and they change without notice. When they are open, the lines are very slow as they are dramatically understaffed. The staff is nice and doing their best but corporate has clearly set them up to fail. There's also no bike parking and they yell at you if you try to bring your bike in :( read more

I believe her name is Vicki, she didn't have a name tag but I heard another employee calling her name. Ugh, unless you have no choice, don't come here. The pharmacy is understaffed and completely awful. Part of this is because of corporate decisions that disempower staff individually and as a whole. But part of this is because some of the most unfriendly, rudest people work here. A deadly combination. The lines are long at each and every hour of the day, in the store and at the pharmacy. Today, at 11am, there are nine people in line, five of whom are actively coughing without covering their mouths, and one of whom is unfortunately me. Phones ring off the hook and go unanswered or calls stay on hold for so long that people call back angrily. There is no good time to come here, and instead of hiring enough pharmacists to cover the mandatory California state law requiring pharmacists to take a break, you can have a multi-hour or overnight wait for an urgent prescription to be filled. Two stars instead of one because one extremely super nice person and one other nice person works at the pharmacy counter, and because at least at THIS Redwood City location, they didn't try to kill me with the wrong prescription in my bag, unlike the Sequoia Station one. read more

I frequent this CVS store several times a month. I have several bones to pick with the store, so let me just go ahead and get started. 1. Their beauty section is rarely stocked. What is up with that?! Not just one or two products--dozens! Not just one brand--multiple! I just don't get it. 2. This isn't a dig at this location, but nearly every CVS I've been too has products that are at least a $1 more expensive than Target, Wal-Mart, Walgreen's and Rite-Aid. I don't mind the price hike, but if you're going to charge $1-$3 more than competitors you can at least make sure it's worth it! See point three. 3. There's always ONE cashier actively working, while one or two are fiddling around pretending to do things. I consider myself a patient person, but CVS likes to test my patience. 4. Finally, those lonnnnnng receipts. This is a grumble with corporate. Fine. Print out lonnnnnng receipts, but you better have stuff in stock! This CVS makes me ragey! read more

I am very disappointed in the policies of this store. I was recently shopping at this location, and I saw a shopper not wearing a mask and approaching the pharmacy counter. The pharmacy tech asked the shopper to put on a mask but the person refused. This pharmacy tech and the other employees are risking their health to support their customers. The least people can do is respect them and wear a mask. I contacted the store and talked to a manager explaining what I saw. She seemed to take my complaint lightly, obviously not caring about my concern. You don't care about the safety of your employees and customers, then I will no longer be shopping at this CVS location. I will be telling others to do the same. read more

Asked you several pairs but each of them looked about so before leaving we pointed out concern to management... This CVS Pharmacy, at 1301 Broadway Redwood City, is awful. They filled a prescription for my husband, for a 30-day supply, and charged $75. I wanted to move the prescription to Costco but CVS would not call Costco back. Finally I had to ask the doctor to write another prescription, this time for Costco. What really took the cake was Costco charged $16 for a 90-day supply! Don't go to this CVS. It's badly run and a ripoff. read more

Do NOT order photo books from them...they should not be called photo books. You can get much better quality photo books at any online retailer (Shutterfly, pinterpix, mixbook, blurb, etc.). The print was streaky and even when they told me to resend the file to have it reprinted, it came back the same. Not happy with the results at all and will not order from their photo department again. Nobody apologized for the driving there 3 times to get nothing resolved either. Very disappointed as those books were presents. Their software to produce the photo books is excellent but the production is a total fail. Also, the books are not bound but instead just clipped into an album cover - which would have been fine if the print hadn't been such low quality. This Longs doesn't have the extended hours that are so convenient in some drug stores/pharmacies in the area. Long's at Sequoia Station in RWC and Walgreens on El Camino are both open 24 hours most of the time and this one is not, but this IS the closest pharmacy to where I live, so when my cat's oncologist called up to say he was prescribing some medication for her ear infection and that it could be filled at a regular pharmacy, this was the place I had him fax the prescription in to. When I called them up to see if the prescription was ready, they sounded rather amused, which seemed odd but I thought perhaps it's just a very jolly work environment. Queuing up here is an interesting experience. There is a line on the floor that shows you where to stand in order to respect the privacy of others having their prescription filled. This means you are standing in the aisles where the depends, enemas, vaginal yeast infection itch relief creams, bunion removers and condoms are located. Those items are not private, so don't be embarrassed by all the bored people waiting to fill their prescriptions who have nothing to do but watch you when you go to buy your super strength ex-lax or your jock itch powder. Whatever prescription they are having filled is private and embarrassing, but you should be PROUD you are removing your own warts or know how to use a rectal thermometer or are finally getting that Beano your friends are always recommending. When I got to the counter, the woman there started smirking. "Awww, was kitty being naughty?" she said suggestively. What? She looked uncomfortable when I seemed confused...like she expected me to laugh and now thought perhaps I was going to get upset. I saw her go talk to the pharmacist and she then came back and told me the pharmacist wanted to talk to me about how to prepare the medication and to see if I had any questions. The pharmacist was mostly concerned with explaining how to mix up this liquid which couldn't be mixed up too far ahead of time and had to be done in a few batches. When he asked me if I had any questions, I asked him "so, I put the syringe in her ear, right?", "What? No." he says, "it is administered orally!" He looked at me like I was an idiot. When I got home, I found out the liquid was a cherry flavored syrup. Oh great! Cats love cherry flavored syrup! I also looked up the medication online and found out it is an alternative to Penicillin, most often used for STDs. I am whoppin mad! If there were a way to give minus stars, I would. This was supposed to be a 10 minute trip into the store to get a pair of readers and a couple of other items. Got my things and went to the check out. There was only one checker open. At least 5 people were in front of me. The checker got on the overhead and asked for another checker to open. No one came. After he rang up another customer, he got on the overhead again and asked for TWO checkers to come up front. By then, there were 7 people behind me. No one came. Then I was the next person in line. The manager was photocopying at the customer service area. After she saw how many people were in line, she said she would take the next person. That would have been me, BUT loudly I told the elderly lady behind me to go next because the crowd was about to swarm over there. Then two more checkers came up. Both said, I'll take the next person in line, but the folks at the end of the line ran over. Roll forward, I'm still waiting in line because the woman in front of me is buying multiple money orders. Everyone who had been behind me checked out and left. I finally went over to a different checker. When walking out of the store, I stopped the manger and told her how terrible my experience was. The only words out of her mouth were "I'm sorry". Well, I'm sorry too. Don't tell me you are sorry, tell me what you are going to do to fix the problem! They just lost my business forever. For any manager who trains staff or customer service rep out there who may be reading this, do not ask for the next person in line to come over to you. Ask, who is the next person in line, make eye contact with that person, and have them go with you. You cannot depend on the other folks in line to be courteous or honest. The lines are so very long when they only have 1 register open. When you go to ask someone about item they have no clue what you are trying to say, they point you to the wrong isle. some of their price checkers - coupon machines are out of order and won't give you a coupon. I guess this used to be Long's. But now it's called CVS because they took over "Long's." And usually I really live CVS. But this one gave me the heebie-jeebies. Inside, this cavernous store was strangely set up. The proportions were all wrong. The ceiling was too high for the shelves, and the rows were not long enough for the room. It felt as though a corporate schematic was superimposed on an existing space. But it was executed very poorly, without minor revisions, and with no attention to the fact that this was the biggest CVS store I had ever seen. It was big in an uncomfortable sort of way. The aisles were also just a little too far apart. It felt disjointed. I started to have a minor panic attack while inside. Also weird: the nail polish on display near the BIG GIANT SCARY window had all faded to similar shades of beige. It looked like a lost store. A store where time stood still but the world passed it by. There was a thick layer of dust on most of the merchandise that I perused. I imagined that when I left the store, 5 years would have passed unbeknownst to me. As I was waiting in line for the checkout, the final, really strange thing happened. There was only one checkout. There is only one proper register, and one register at the photo developing desk. TWO registers for such a huge store? What? How can there be only one proper register? It was more frustrating since there were about 10 people in line. The whole experience reminded me of an existentialist German play called Electronic City. This place is located in the sketchy shopping plaza off Broadway. So some of the peeps that shop here, are hmmmm, just hold onto your purse. I was shocked to see how large this place was inside! Seriously you could run a mini marathon between the isles. I found some good deals with my CVS card. But to get those deals, as stated before by other Yelpers, you have to wait in a long line. I've had an aversion to Longs since 2000 (long crazy story) but on a whim the other day, I decided "what the hey" and ventured into this Longs. (The Walgreens close to my house (on Santa Cruz) kinda um, sucks donkey balls). Parking lot is a little nutty, lots of those easy-to-miss-nearly -invisible-because-they-aren't marked speed humps but I got myself a primo spot right in front. W00t. Does anyone else think that certain chain stores all smell the same? Every Togo's smells like pastrami and yeast, Walgreen's smells like old people and Long's has a distinctive antiseptic mixed with knock off perfume aroma. Anyway, I digress. The layout is typical, pharmacy in the back, photo on the left, cosmetics on the right. Random assortment of stuff in the aisles in between. Holy crap, Halloween candy is out already! I am unsuccessful in avoiding this aisle but have enough restraint to not purchase that jumbo sized bag of mini Twix's. I find everything on my list pretty quickly and then kill loads of time in the cosmetics section which is standard procedure for me whenever I enter a drug store. It's seriously, like, an addiction. Pretty adequate selection, but I was disappointed they didn't have the Vaseline Body Oil I wanted (who doesn't want sexy slippery skin?!). Check out was fun. Only 1 register open and it's in a weird spot right by the safe and it doesn't have a conveyor belt thingy to load my stuff onto. The young checkout chick reminds me of my sister-in-law and this is not really a good thing. She is also too young to sell alcohol to the people in front of me so she has to call a manager. No problem, I'm not really in a hurry. She rings me out quickly and is friendly and nice and I feel bad for making mean assumptions about her. I collect my bags and head out to the car. When I get to the car I start hunting in the bags for the mints I bought and realize they aren't there. In fact, a bunch of stuff isn't there! And missing from the receipt too. Crap. Horrible Management and customer service!!!! I don't yelp very often but this review definitely deserved my time. I've been shopping at this CVS for 10+years and always appreciated how close it was to my house but I refuse to go back there after the awkwardness I experienced tonight. I recently switched over to a new brand of make up. I bought $100+ worth of neutrogena face products a week or so ago. Two items I bought needed to be returned. 1 was the wrong color for my skin and the other was the wrong type of face lotion. After spending 10-15min looking at different shades of foundation and creams to determine which was best (also difficult as they were out of stock on a lot of stuff) I asked a girl that worked there if they had neutrogena products displayed anywhere else in the store. She told me no which was a lie as I found neutrogena displays in several other locations, maybe she is in training still. Keep working at it girl! Shortly after that poor customer service I'm approached by a man who works there. At first he nicely asked if I needed help finding something which I thought was normal until he comments that I had "been there for a long time wandering around". I explained my struggle to find the right item. As he walked away I heard him on his radio talking about me to the manager. Awkward!!!! And not to mention rude!!! Are you trying to make your customers uncomfortable? Then I go to pay for my items and return the 2 products that I previously purchased. The Store Manager, Daisy, was rude to the fullest! Now I see where the employees get it. I explained I needed to return/exchange the 2 items and no, I didn't have a receipt but offered my credit card to pull up the purchase as most stores have that technology now. Or maybe they could look it up by my CVS card. But she refused to do that and instead scanned the items with what looked like a cell phone and informed me that she hadn't sold either of those products ever and therefore could not return them. I was appalled to say the least. As I said, I bought over $100 of neutrogena products a week or two ago including those items. Funny that she says she never sold those products yet there's a tags for these items on the shelfs but the shelfs are empty, out of stock, so how do you explain that?? At this point it was clear they were assuming I was stealing or something shady. Check your cameras CVS Top Flight Security. You will see I came in with those items and did not steal a damn thing nor would I ever try to. Look up my card or my information and you will see you are in the wrong. Daisy (Store Manager), you have a lot to learn about proper management and customer service. You and your team have earned quite a few poor reviews on yelp and now I understand why. (****Huge red flag for upper management*****) Regional mgr/corporate/whoever it truly concerns... if you want to succeed in the challenging world of retail and be able to compete with big stores like Target and Walmart you may want to make sure your store managers are not teaching their employees to provide poor customer experiences.
