This is the most incompetent pharmacy I have ever dealt with! I would not even give this pharmacy one star, but I had to to post this terrible review. I was supposed to have surgery at the end of the month, but it had been canceled temporarily. I was starting to wean off of narcotics which is never pleasant and often causes with- drawl symptoms and therefore had to contact my doctor and make an emergency trip to the Scottsdale office of my pain management facility. I am also a severe diabetic which causes even more problems when you reduce doses. I had to surrender all of the lower dose oxycodone to go back on my normal dose until my surgery could be done which would involve putting in a spinal stimulator and no longer needing narcotics. I called Cvs at 4:13 which was 2 1/2 hours after I had seen the doctor and surrendered all of my medication in his office. He Promised me that he would call in the regular dose to my CVS here in Maricopa, and submit the proper paperwork to both the government and my insurance so that it would be legal for me to have it refilled within eight days of getting a very low dose of it filled. When I arrived at cvs (After not getting a text that my medication was ready after two hours in at 6:45 I just drove down to Cvs and had to wait for over 30 minutes. Of course they gave me medication which was not the Medication that I needed and did not even order. I got home and of course it was the wrong medication.... But I never heard for that from them and it was already 645 and I just drove down there to see what the heck was going on! In general this CVS is about as slow as a turtle walking backwards in the sand. And they always make an excuse as to why they are so slow..When I went back I was absolutely livid at the pharmacist because she tried to play "the hero" and cover up her stupidity and laziness of not even reading what was written in the computer, in this scenario. She told me by federal law she cannot refill my oxycodone since I had filled it eight days ago. That is BS. When you turn in medication to a physician and the physician makes a note to your insurance company that you need to switch it because of your health Declining, it is done without any problem. I told her I'm not leaving here till I get my proper drug now that I already paid for a drug that I did NOT need. She made this big deal about moving me away from the front counter where I was complaining about this particular Cvs having very low (1star)reviews on yelp and being the worst Cvs I've ever been in. I've never had a problem in any other Cvs. So she got on her little computer and just kept repeating that she can't fill a narcotic when it was just filled eight days ago and I told her ; look I saw what the doctor did and said! Then she asked me if I wanted to pay cash for it and I told her no, I would rather you run it through the insurance it should be fine the doctor cleared it. She kept BS ing saying it's against the law for her to give me a refill after I surrendered all my pills and the doctor counted them that she could not fill my medication. I told her that I would call the emergency number for the doctor immediately and then all of a sudden she said "oh my goodness I was able to get it through your insurance I saved you." Well let me remind you that I called at 4:13 and I was told that the script from the doctor was there but they had not filled it yet. So why did this moronic pharmacist not even look at my script and all of the details that the doctor put in it when I called hours prior to showing up there when I did not get a text and then on top of that give me the wrong medication and make me come back several hours later right before they closed; behooves me. This can only be one of two things absolute stupidity on her part or laziness to not even look into it. A pharmacist should be aware that you cannot just cut off a narcotic like Oxycodone without a patient ending up in a lot of trouble if not a coma. I am a diabetic and I was now without medication for over 48 hours and I could've easily slipped into a coma and passed away because this dumb bimbo didn't look at what was written that came over with that particular prescription. ( even after I called and explained everything over the phone about the surgery being postponed on the 28th etc.) I would not recommend this store to anybody! Save yourself a lot of heartache and problems. I am going to call my insurance company who insists that I use CVS and tell them how bad they are here in Maricopa and see if there's an alternate source where I can get my script filled other than Cvs because I am refusing to go back there anymore and go through this hell anymore. Stay away from them they are a bunch of boobs that don't know what they're doing. But then again, how stupid do you have to be to pay So much money to go through pharmacy school to count pills which is the job of a chimpanzee; who also could count pills all day... I know we can all complain about long wait, etc... But in Maricopa, we only have 2 pharmacies. (unless you are willing to deal with Bashas or Frys) CVS provides better service than Walgreens hands down. CVS carries more brands and are willing to special order my medicine. In Walgreens, the wait time is far beyond frustrating. Takes 20 minutes just to be able to ask a question. I prefer CVS. Although they are busy, they never took more than 15 minutes to fill a prescription at the last minute. read more

Went to have a prescription filled had issues with my insurance and when I called back to speak with them about it I was on hold for more then 25min so I hung up and called back and was asked to wait on hold again I reluctantly said "I guess I've been....." and before I could finish my sentence she put me on hold. They kept calling me (the wrong number) to refill my parents dogs medications. When I called to ask them to stop calling me the technician who answered had a terrible attitude and told me it wasn't set to call me after she looked up my account and not theirs. I explained it may be on their account and not mine so she said she would take care of it and hung up. She didn't ask for any names to actually resolve the issue. read more

Just had it out with the pharmacist, who I can't even believe passed pharmacy school. We came about 9pm right after my surgery. I am in a rental car so I am the only one who can drive it, so even though I had emergency surgery, I still had to drive. Anyway we went through the drive through. We came close to 10 so the pharmacist who by the way looks Chubacca, (so you'll know her when you see her!) had a bad attitude from the get. Anyway I was given 3 prescriptions which needed to be filled, this meaning WORK for her big lazy ass! She slowly and RUDELY took my info, then told me it would be 30 minutes. At least that was pretty quick, so I said ok and preceded to return some texts and emails in the drive through while waiting, with no one behind me of course. She told me (ever MORE RUDELY) that I couldn't sit there, I needed to "Move along now!" and she Shoo-ed me away with her spastic hand motions...HOW RUDE! So I finished what I was doing, maybe 3 seconds, hunted for the gear shifter in the rental, that took a another second or 2, then, I can barely move my legs due to the surgery so pressing the gas took me a couple more too, so I am sure I looked like a smart ass to Pharmacist Elnas AKA Chubacca, and clearly yes... I am quite the smartass, but I wasn't being I was just in INTENSE PAIN! Hello people don't usually end up in the pharmacy at their best right? Which means they should have be pretty damn good by now at customer service when working there, No!?? Anyway she then RUDELY told me how she wasn't going to fill my prescription now. "I don't like you so that is my right." She said. YOUR RIGHT? You don't like ME? Not my attitude, not my pain or even my seemingly smart ass too slow for even your slow ass movement...but you don't like ME, CHUBACCA? "I have done nothing wrong, what are you talking about, I am in PAIN!" I exclaimed! She said, "Great so take a walk on in the store then and I'll fill it in here. I said, "I can't walk lady, I just got out of emergency surgery!" "Not my problem, there is another CVS down the street." She said, and she waddled away. That is when I flipped. I laid on the horn until she returned, asked for her name and license. Told her she was going to lose her job, at some point after she told me she wasn't going to fill it I started recording video of which I played a portion of for so could see herself and how she was acting. MIRACULOUSLY she apologized. "Please don't complain." she said, "I'll give you a gift card!" She said. "I'll fill your prescription." "Sorry it's just store policy." Hmmm that attitude you just watched your self give on tape, is that CVS store policy too? Funny what people start to offer when they see what their boss and the Arizona State Board of Pharmaceutical Licensing will see. Not to mention the attitude, the customer service and the blatant disregard for human well being & discrimination for the half crippled blonde with a doctors recommendation for pills because she just rolled off the surgery table! AHHHHHH. Whatever she rectified it. I got a $25 gift card to go with my now higher blood pressure. Still, it that was my grandma she was treating like that? Or yours. Or some other sore half crippled person in pain, or bad health or sickness. I just wouldn't want to have not done my part. I'm still going to complain... 1. To you, fellow Yelpers! 2. To her boss 3. Dropped off my prescription around 2 PM after suffering from a dog bite and in a lot of pain. I was told it wouldn't be ready until after 6, so I said fine. I came back around 8:50 PM and SHOCKING, my prescription was no where to be found. One of them hadn't even been filled, and the other two weren't filed correctly so no one could find it by my last name. I had people waiting in the car so I said forget it I would come back in the morning. This is not the first time my prescription hasn't been able to be found. The entire pharmacy staff is so unorganized, and understaffed for the volume of prescriptions they receive. I'm considering taking mine to Walgreens across the street or Fry's from now on. Their staff members seem to be a lot nicer and more competent. Judging by the other reviews on here, this is a common issue. read more

Handed my prescription to them. Was told that I would have to wait 3hours. I just agreed. Three hours go by, and I come to pick up. EMPLOYEE- "Oh, we don't see any ready prescriptions for you." Me: "I was here over three hours ago, dropped of a prescription, and was told that it would be ready by this time." EMPLOYEE-"We can get it ready in a couple hours. Call back later, to see if it's ready by then." ME- frustrated "Okay, fine." I figure I could give them a little extra time, as they tend to slack off a majority of the time. I call back 6 hours later. I'm on hold for 20 minutes, then someone picks up and hangs up. I call back, (a-hole voice) "Can you hold please." ME- "SURE" another 20 minutes on hold. "How can I help you." ME- "I wanted to know if a prescription, that I dropped off today, is ready." (she took my info) "Uh, we can get that ready in three days." ME- "Uh..." "Why is that?" EMPLOYEE-"We have it showing that you have it ready at the Casa Grande location." ME- "Uh.." "I don't understand." EMPLOYEE- "When do you need these?" ME- "I was supposed to take them today." EMPLOYEE- "Okay, we can get them ready in 30 minutes." ME-"Can you transfer them to a Phoenix location?" EMPLYEE-"Ugh, to what location?" ME-"Well, I'm in Phoenix now, I have been waiting all day. I didn't think your location was going to get it done." They, then, just told the other CVS to call them. I am, for sure, switching pharmacies. read more

Pharmacy worst customer service everytimei go here I end up having to go somewhere else ! 3 times now I have wasted hours of my time this time all they had to do was call my insurance it took me 2 minute they made me wait all day and still when I got here I waited another hour for these lazy asshole behind the count to not do anything at all to try to help me I just had major surgery and needed their help I received no help no medication and still have to go somewhere else I waited to long now and am in a lot of pain now. Pharmacy Staff for years has been slow, and the attitude these people have is ridiculous. I think after living in Maricopa for 11 years I have received nice service here 3-4 times. The pharmacists are rude, their techs are rude, after this last experience I have pulled all 3 of my recurring prescriptions and moved them to Fry's and will also test out Walgreens and Walmart with any one time prescriptions because these places sure cant be any worse than this CVS. Why I choose to get my medication from here is beyond me. I picked CVS because it was by my home and supposed to be quick. What I didn't know is that I'm being completely ripped off. At first they were tell me that my insurance was being excepted because it says I have a different primary insurance so I paid full out of pocket costs for my prescription a few months ago. Then I go again because I need a refill and they say the same thing so I call my health insurance provider and they personally call CVS to advise the situation and told me to go back with in 24hrs. So what did I do? I waited went back in 4 days later for them to tell me the exact thing. So I go in today and the service is completely slow I have work and school which now I'm late for work because they had to re-do my prescription which will be another 15-20 minute wait so I'm pretty much completely done with that CVS fair warning to everyone! Also the lady helping my husband has the biggest attitude like ma'am if you had all your crap together we would've been in and out. Like seriously if you don't like your job quit!!! read more

This is the most unorganized confused driven pharmacy I have ever experienced in my life. 1st I thought it was a fluke that a pharmacy did not have a regular antibiotic then it took 3 days for them to get it. 2nd a simple non narcotic pain reliever and they didn't carry it and it took 3 days to get. And now yesterday and today my daughters asthma regular medication same thing but after they said they never got the Prescription we walked and handed to them then they said the prescription was filled out fully and when they call dr the dr called it to Walgreens's and finally they said they had the written Rx and still could not give a good reason of why they could not fill it. But the real reason is they are incompetent uneducated unorganized and don't know what they are doing. I will never use this idiotic place to fill medication for my dog. The pharmacist doesn't know the difference from a Tic Tac from a baby aspirin and the techs lack the ability to communicate on a 2 year olds level. read more

Kimberly, I'm with you. Just got home from picking up my prescriptions. I will admit I wasn't sure what to expect after reading all of the bad reviews. When I walked in I was greeted with a Hello if I need help with anything just let her know. When I walked back to the pharmacy I was welcomed by Wendy who had a smile on her face that's a plus. Once she checked me out she asked If I would like a consultation with the pharmacist for my new medications. The pharmacist Lisa was very helpful again with a smile. I can't stand this CVS, I will avoid it at all costs. A month ago I went to fill a prescription they told me it would take 4 hours, which I was fine with, after I returned the best day 25 hours later the prescription paper was still at the station I left it and they hadn't done anything, they then told me it would be ready in 4 hours! Ya right I asked for my prescription paper back and went across the street to Walgreens were they completed my prescription in 10 minutes. When I go to this store the customer service representatives often times treat me as an inconvenience when I use coupons. I went in to buy baby formula and their stock was very low and some packages were opened, so I wend in a week later, same thing, a month later the same thing! When I moved to Maricopa I read the Yelp reviews for this CVS, and i was concerned. However, after having done business at this location for a year I can safely give them a 5 star review. First, they are efficient and give excellent service. They don't have time for a lot for chit chat and hand-holding because they are extremely busy. I have NEVER seen any of the pharmacists or techs just hanging out with nothing to do. On the contrary, they are always very busy doing their jobs. I have spoken on the phone with several pharmacy employees and they are the best! They aren't perfect and there have been a few problems, but they were all taken care of quickly, and without complaint or attitude. I highly recommend this pharmacy! read more

I pulled up to the drive-thru window at 3 p.m. and someone finally came to help me at 3:12. I was unhappy, he was NOT sympathetic. I will never go back. I was the only person in line at the drive-thru, and I had the definite impression that the people in line inside were served first while I waited in the heat. I am disgusted with CVS/Caremark. You denied a cancer patient with cancer in her lungs a prescription for Advair. Why? Money. You say you now require me to have a 90 day prescription for my Advair and won't accept my 30 day prescription. Are you my doctor? No. You want to cut out the middle man and have me go through mail order. So on a Friday afternoon you won't override YOUR policy and allow the 30 day prescription to go through. A perfectly good prescription...not accepted because of corporate greed. Was the CVS in Maricopa helpful??? Nope. The woman on the phone laughed at me. They told be I could pay retail or nothing. The service is extremely slow no matter when you go. They also have a problem having your prescription ready at the time they state. I've even been told they won't have time to fill my prescriptions until the next day. Walgreen's is much faster and isn't run as poorly as CVS. read more

I had a prescription for pain meds for a dental issues. CVS charged me over $80 for the two prescriptions with my insurance card. I had to go back for a root canal and the dentist prescribed the same meds and I took them to Walmart in Chandler and my cost was $10! Not impressed with CVS! read more

My first visit to CVS Pharmacy and I sure wish it could be my last, but our insurance will only approve CVS. I do not take medicine and this was a first for myself. My doctor placed me on new medicine and the pharmacist did not offer a consultation with me. The only reason I switched from Target pharmacy to CVS was because my insurance will only allow me to use CVS pharmacy. I wasn't happy about the switch because I loved Target pharmacy but it got even worse. I've seen complaints about people having slow service in the drive-thru well it's not much better inside. I chose the Maricopa CVS because I live here but their customer service & slowness is unbelievably bad! I'm going to switch CVS's. Worst experience ever. Horrible rude employees in pharmacy. The first girl that waited on me could not spell. I had to spell a medication name for her! I tried to pick up meds which I have used a discount card for them from the maker. They would not honor it or even call the number I wrote down for them.
