I really LOVE Walgreens and all the fabulous deals!!! HOWEVER this location 21274 N John Wayne Pkwy, Maricopa, AZ 85139~ Honestly NEVER FAILS the individual that generally is in photo area but today was cashier ~ WHICH SHOULD NEVER BE SINCE HAS NO PROFESSIONAL SKILLS WHAT SO EVER.. I say that with the up most concern to the way customers are treated and the words that come out of that mouth are completely unprofessional.. Over a year ago I had an encounter with this same unpleasant unprofessional individual and one would think they would of gotten things together but after my visit today I can obviously see otherwise.. If Walgreens decides to keep which I believe is a female, get that individual the professional training needed to cashier in order to interact with humans or the public in general. There's nothing remarkable about this Walgreen's. There was only one person working the entire store, and anything I needed was locked behind a display case. I understand theft is an issue but it would be nice to have testers for fragrance. Store was clean and decently stocked. The cashier was very friendly and sweet. read more

The pharmacy is severely understaffed and God forbid if you need to call the pharmacy. 30 minutes to an hour wait on hold only to have someone pick up and disconnect the call without saying anything. I went for an appointment with my doctor 8/23/24, he was supposed to send in my prescription to the John Wayne Blvd. store but it wasn't sent in. When I came home and called the doctor but unable to reach him so the receptionist was able to give me a seven day supply until I was able to get my full prescription from my doctor sent in. So l preceded to go to pick up my temporary prescription before the store closed. I was waiting at the pick up window outside, when the car ahead of me was served then I moved ahead since I was next in line but the window was closed on me although I was waiting over 10 minutes. So I went inside the store to pick up my prescription, while I asked for my medicine to pick up another person was being served. Once that individual picked up his medicine then the pharmacist refused to give me my medicine stating that the pharmacy was closed. I mentioned that I was outside at the pickup window for over 10 minutes and the window was closed right after another person picked up their medicine and the pharmacist just finished up with another customer but after he was finished with that person he refused to give me my prescription which was ready to be picked up. I've had trouble getting through with this store many times on the phone and now this happens. So I was unable to pick up the medicine over the weekend so I had to wait until Monday. I picked up the temporary 7 day supply and I asked them when will I be able to pick up the full prescription and she replied in two days. So I went to the pharmacy Wednesday and they told me it was too early even thought the Walgreens text I received stated my prescription was ready so she said I would have to wait another 2 days which would have been Friday but I waited until Saturday to pick up the medicine just incase their would be any discrepancy about picking it up too early. So I called up Saturday to inquire about my prescription and they said it was too early that I would have to wait until tomorrow so I told the pharmacy that I wouldn't be able to pick it up tomorrow that I was told to pick it up the day prior. So now I have to wait until next week to pick up my prescription since I'm unable to pick it up Sunday. I've had it with this store once I pick up my prescription I'll never do business with that store ever again. Such horrible customer service. read more

I have never met a man so mean, as the pharmacist in charge today. Went in with very specific notes from my doctor and left in tears after basically being called stupid. I just don't understand why people have to be so rude to strangers, he said he refusing to fill my prescriptions because he doesn't agree with my doctors plan. Store is great but Pharmacy service is not. I was physically inside at the pharmacy, not in the drive thru. Two techs available but only 1 helping the customer in front of me having insurance issues. I'm the only person waiting in line for over 5 minutes. The other tech blatantly blew me off. But The moment a car pulls up to the drive thru window that tech snapped into action & immediately helped the customer. After that the tech goes on her merry way and again blows me off. I was pissed & stormed out of the store and went to the drive thru after I calmed down. It took every bit of self constraint not to go off on that tech as she helped in the drive thru. ON HOLD OVER AN HOUR?!?! After initially being on hold for OVER 25 MINUTES, today, I've decided to try an experiment putting Walgreens's customer service to the test. I started by placing their irritating, "two verse & repeat," 80's quality hold music on speaker, then I opened my Yelp app to start this review at the same time while I wait. We'll see if they finally answer before I'm done posting this review. Until then, I just have to ask a simple question: "WHAT OTHER BUSINESS IN THIS (OR ANY OTHER) INDUSTRY WILL CONTINUE TRYING TO UNAPOLOGETICALLY JUSTIFY THEIR CUSTOMERS BEING ON HOLD FOR AN AVERAGE OF 20 MINUTES ... EVERY TIME WE CALL TO ASK A SIMPLE QUESTION ABOUT THE STATUS OF OUR RX?" UPDATE 1: Still on hold. Just finished a conversation with my son while waiting. I've now been on hold for 32 minutes. I know, Walgreens will never change in regard to being incapable of providing great customer service. I've used them before and expect nothing but average to sub par service from them or any other nation-wide, name brand pharmacy chains. But seriously, people, 32 MINUTES??? What the h**l can these people possibly be doing on a regular basis to consistently be this bad? In fact, the only consistent thing about Maricopa's Walgreens is their poor customer service. Keep in mind I witnessed this same Walgreens' staff tell a couple (after they waited in line for several minutes, mind you) that they couldn't process their order because they close at 10pm, and it was already 9:55. They seriously told these people they couldn't help them because they wouldn't be finished with the transaction before 10pm. I was like, "WHAT?!?!" They even had the nerve to tell them there were 24 hour Walgreens IN PHOENIX (40 minutes away). I kid you not! Their business was slow and the pharmacist could have either insisted his staff kick into high gear and wow these folks with great service by processing their order before 10, or they could have done like any other business in any other industry and taken care of these customers, even if that meant they couldn't lock up and leave right at 10pm. It wasn't the customer's fault the Walgreens staff couldn't handle all the folks waiting in line BEFORE THE CONCLUSION OF THEIR POSTED BUSINESS HOURS. If you strive to provide even average customer service, it's a basic courtesy to put the personal interests of the staff BEHIND that of the customer, even if it takes working just a little bit harder or taking just a little longer. The staff there was more focused on leaving at 10:01 than on providing quality customer service. What's the point in having a pharmacy open until 10 and allowing customers to come in and wait in line if you have no intention of serving those customers? UPDATE 2: Been trying to stay busy, still on hold now for OVER 50 MINUTES. Ridiculous. Can you imagine if businesses in the retail or service industries expected us to wait and tolerate this type of poor service? Why is it the pharmaceutical industry and the medical industry have no sense of customer service, treating their customers as if they are doing us a favor, and we put up with it? Pharmacies like this one are always busy, yet they always seem to have just a few employees on staff to handle that kind of volume. Businesses in the service and retail industries would be expected to double the size of their staff in order to properly meet these service demands. But not Walgreens! They are apparently held to a much different standard. Why? UPDATE 3: After being on hold for AN HOUR AND TWENTY MINUTES (see photo), I heard what sounded like someone picking up the phone, and then suddenly my call was disconnected. This is now the third time that has happened to me after waiting on hold for an excessive amount of time at this particular Walgreens location. I should've hung up a long time ago. In fact, I could've driven up there and back 2-3 times, but I had to see just how long they'd make me hold this time since I'm posting a review about it. I expected 20+ minutes, but 80 MINUTES??? I'm honestly amazed that any business would have a customer line blinking for 80 minutes without anyone back there eventually noticing and picking up to check on it ... even out of curiosity. If they were truly "answering other calls," they would notice one of the lines on hold that long. Anyone who's ever worked in customer service or with a commercial phone system knows what I'm talking about. Needless to say, this is the last straw for me. I'm transferring my business somewhere else. I wouldn't recommend anyone using this pharmacy for any reason. As the only Black customer in the store, I was followed by an employee for the duration of my shopping there. I told them it made me feel very uncomfortable and I quickly left. If you don't want to be treated like a thief as you try to by toiletries, I recommend AGAINST shopping at this store. For the three months I've been to the pharmacy here, with poor service every time. They never answer the phone, when they do pick up half the time they hang up on you or talk to you for a minute after finally answering the phone call that you've been on hold for hour. I was told yesterday on two different calls and exorbitant amount of time on hold that my prescription would be filled shortly. Finally I went to the pharmacy and he told me it was too soon for a refill, after 10 minutes of explaining it wasn't a refill but in fact a brand new script. If I could give this place a zero right now i would. I just left the store again without my medicine because no one in the place could figure out how to run my medicine even though i have gotten the same medicine every month for a year now. Each month I get this medicine anywhere from 1-4 weeks after it is ordered because they don't know what they are doing. There seems to be only one person in the whole store that knows how to do anything and if she is not there I can pretty much guarantee I'm not getting my medicine. There has been times I've waited a half hour in line then when i get to the front and they want me to come inside because they cant figure it out. No, I'm not coming inside, if i had wanted to come inside i would of done it to begin with. I waited my turn while every person in line took 10-15 minutes at the window. On December 28, 2022, I ordered six desk top calendars from Walgreens in Maricopa on John Wayne Parkway. On December 29th, 2022, I went to pick my calendars up. I paid $39.09 for the calendars. One of the pictures had the frame of the picture with my grandson's face divided by the frame. The frame wasn't shown online when I picked the picture to be on the calendar. The Walgreens clerk tried to correct it, then told me it couldn't be fixed. So I chose another picture to use on that month for the desk top calendar. I was told to come back later that day to pick up the reprinted desk top calendars. When I went to Walgreens to pick up the corrected desk top calendars on January 2, 2023, I was told the calendars were not ready because they did not have all the materials to make the desk top calendars. I was told once again to come back later to pick up the calendars. I told the Walgreen's clerk I want a refund, then he told me he would go to the other Walgreen's here in Maricopa and finish putting the calendars together. He told me he would call me when they were ready for pick up later on that day. He left me a message. I didn't see the message until on Jaunuary 3, 2023. When I asked the Walgreens clerk for my desk top calendars I was told by the clerk she had to talk to her supervisor regarding the note on the calendars. I showed her my bank account where the $39.09 was debited from my checking account on December 29, 2022. I told her that's ok just give me my refund. She waited for the supervisor and he told her just give me the calendars. This process took me three trips to Walgreens, it should have only taken 1 trip to Walgreens. Walgreens has lost a customer. The service I received was very unprofessional and unconcerned about me the customer. read more

There's not too much you can say about a pharmacy so I'll keep it brief. The pharmacists are nice but I wouldn't go so far as saying friendly, they hardly crack a smile. What makes me happy is that they're really good at getting my prescriptions done within about 10-15 minutes of when I drop it off so I don't have to wait too long. read more

Store is nice and clean. It's always pretty busy during evening rush hours. Best time to go is from open to noon. Pharmacy gets pretty swamped at times. The staff and students manager are pretty cool. Shears smiling and willing to assist with whatever you need. The bathrooms are not as clean. It could have been just that one time but something to keep in mind. read more
