I decided to switch to Walgreens from CVS because the CVS around here had sub-par service. I then followed up with a phone call to see if they needed anything else - they said nothing. When I went into 5 hours later to pick up my drugs they were not there - they said I had to call to confirm my transfers ... which I had done. Anyway I let that slide and then dropped off my old prescriptions in person to transfer them. They said it would take an hour to fill - I came back in 2 hours - only to find that the prescription wasn't filled because they needed to know if I wanted generic or name brand. My question - why the heck didn't they call to ask that? Anyway, I'm not pleased with my switch so far ... and not sure that there are any pharmacies around here that know how to treat their customers or use technology.

I use that terminology because that is the sincere rare caring that has been shown to me many times over . That atmosphere is established first by the owner Pharmacist Dave , and is a welcome contagious one , " caught " by each of his staff. Hmm...I suppose that would be the only contagion that would be welcome there . One 4th of July I forgot to refill my important medication before the store had closed. Dave left his family barbecue to open the pharmacy for me . He arrived to help me with his consistant kindness, while he had every right to feel otherwise , since it was my lapse in memory that dragged him back to work that day. There is not one chain of pharmacies around our town that would have unlocked their doors on a closed Holiday to let me in and fill my prescription . Thank God for the dedication of the staff at this pharmacy and others like it that are comitted to maintain a higher standard of excellence while facing all of the challenges that are inherent within the choice they made to bring an independent home town pharmacy for all of us to benefit. I'm a Retired RN and had surgery and have been having fevers. I actually had a customer help me look for it as I was using a cane to get around and in some pain. What did happen was that a true gentleman named Ethan from the pharmacy, I guess he was a Tech... Helped me. He came out , got me help and really went above and beyond. What an Angel. He should be truly recognized! As a member of CVS and the Medical Community I will make this known to his Superiors. Some times when you do a great deed for someone you don't know it goes noticed. Only when the computer decides it can't help me, it offers to me to leave a voicemail and they will call back within an hour. This is a time consuming problem. I wish they would go back to direct contact.
