I have always felt that it is important to shop local and support independent restaurants. It is…read moreeven more important to support independent pharmacies. Over the last 3 decades massive chains such as Walgreens, CVS and Walmart have been on a rampage of forcing mom and pop business to close or buying them up and shutting their doors. This past month, I pulled the trigger and moved all my Rx's to Phillips Family Pharmacy inside of Red X in Riverside. There is probably 6 other chain pharmacies closer to my house but I knew I had to put my money where my mouth was and do the right thing. Three of my Rx's surprisingly were lower in cost than the Hy-Vee I was using; and the 4th jumped from $30 to $50. After letting the Pharmacist know of the large increase she went on line, found a coupon and applied it, decreasing the cost to $10!! So for what I was paying $50 a month, I'm now paying about $22. Something that the well meaning but overworked pharmacists at the chains would never have the time or desire to assist with. Don't even get me started with the mail order pharmacies... Great service, Great pricing and helping to keep the American Dream alive one independent business at a time.

I know that cuteness isn't related to how effective/useful a pharmacy is, but I appreciate the vibe of this independent pharmacy. The building is easy to miss, but it's literally right next to the bank. The pharmacy boasts ambient lighting and a pleasing shopping environment. Someone was able to help me right away and walked around the circular room with me to select what I needed. Due to size, it is not as comprehensive as CVS/Walgreens. I found the price to be reasonable for my supplement, but they didn't have the other supplement I needed. I was able to pick that up at Natural Grocers. If you are into holistic health and good vibes kind of places, I would check O'Brien Pharmacy out, but don't expect them to have the same inventory as a larger chain pharmacy.

She then explained why. I was already impressed with things I had heard so I started using their pharmacy. They definitely deserved all the business. I always brag to people about them. The big Pharmacys can't hold a candle to Spalitto's. I even argue with my insurance about them . I don't live in Northeast anymore so they don't want to cover me at Spalitto's. I give it to them and they understand but they are just employees so they can't change it. They don't deliver out as far out as I live but Anthony went about two blocks from my house to go home so he would deliver to me. He has moved so now they send it in the mail. I thank them for being such wonderful caring people. They are the BEST!!!! and I'm so glad I finally got to write a review about them thank you Spalitto's

That wouldn't have been so bad being asked for that EXCEPT that my husband went several months ago for his covid jabs (both of them) at the very same AuBurn Pharmacy and he was never asked for his Medicare # - and, mind you, he has the very same insurance that I do. So, I went on their website and sent them my Medicare # several days after receiving the jab VIA EMAIL - but they don't check their email. This is ridiculous.
