I don't normally spend two and a half hours in a Queens CVS, but when I do I get vaccinated. Mine was an atypical experience at CVS for sure, but perhaps you are also thinking about coming here for a vaccine (or otherwise), and I figured I'd let you benefit from my experience. If you're headed here because this was the only place you could get a shot scheduled, I would recommend: 1. Being on time. Don't be early, like I was, because you're going to wait a very long time and your prompt arrival does not change that. They will actually tell you to come back when your appointment is. And then tell you to come back after your appointment. And then make you wait for 2+ hours. But if you're on time, it's their fault, not yours, so at least you can claim some sort of moral high ground as you angrily stand in the cosmetics aisle for hours. 2. Wearing comfortable shoes. If you decide to do your toiletry shopping while you wait, please be aware that by law,* this CVS is required to be out of anything you actually wanted. The glacial vaccine process may not have been their fault, but this was adding insult to injury. ______________ *I actually don't think it's a real law. I understand that pharmacies have to lock up all of their products these days, but when no one responds to the service request button, it becomes painfully clear why these brick and mortar locations are shuttering their doors. I pressed the help request button three times with no assistance, and when I finally flagged someone down, none of his keys would actually unlock the cabinet that I needed to access. He had to find another employee who had the right key. I needed items in other aisles too, but I didn't have another 10+ minutes to wait around, so I paid for the one item and left. read more

This review is specifically for the Nurse Practitioner by the name of Erica Edmund. tldr: incompetent RN billed us $125 for getting blood pressure checked and wasted an hour of our time My boyfriend came in here for a physical including a full bloodwork, specifically because he needed it for clearance for school. Upon checking in at the machine and going in, he had INITIALLY ASKED Erica if the bloodwork was going to be included and provided in the services he would be receiving today. Erica answered saying she was not sure and would have to check on that. Instead, she went ahead and rang everything in THE PHYSICAL to bill him, all while NOT KNOWING If the bloodwork was included, continued to measure his vitals and administered PDP. She also signed off on all of it before giving it to him. After everything, she later finds out that she couldn't get the bloodwork done, BUT SHE HAD ALREADY RUNG IT IN AND SIGNED IT BEFORE GIVING IT TO HIM. At the VERY END, she gave him the form of consent asking him "do you consent to the services you will be receiving today?" AFTER he had received the services BEFORE knowing that he wouldn't be getting a full bloodwork run. So he had to sign and say YES he gave consent because he had already received the services (a basic physical without the bloodwork) and had to pay for the services even though he didn't get WHAT HE NEEDED Why do you give a form of consent at the VERY END, AFTER you've already given him the services? Isn't that supposed to be at the very beginning, BEFORE they are treated? You need to make sure to properly train healthcare professionals before they administer ANY kind of care and before they bill ANYTHING carelessly WITHOUT EVEN PROVIDING PROPER CARE!! He came in so he could get that bloodwork done, not his normal physical. If he only needed a physical, he would have gone to his doctor and have it covered by insurance. Instead, he paid $125 for a hour of his time and basically only got his blood pressure checked. I often come to this CVS since they offer free parking. I normally have smooth transactions and very nice cashier. However, I had a bad experience with my transactions today. The manager had a bad attitude. He spoke in an angry tone, guess he had a long day. He processes my transaction. I had a CVS paper coupon from the red machine that I gave him upon paying for my transaction. However, it did not show on my receipt under coupon applied. Not sure if it wasn't working, but he did not tell me the coupon did not work nor did he return it. I found out later on my receipt when I saw that the coupon was not applied. Even so, this CVS is not bad, the other staff were kind and welcoming even though it was very busy. I like this location and would return mainly because it offer free parking. read more

Shut the front door, the side door and the back door. Turn out the lights and hide in the closet with these cookies. Good god they are good. I had tried a different version of the Gold Emblem/CVS brand cookie before and was not a fan, but a little birdy told me that the cookies are new and improved and to give them another try. So I am now a fan. The bottom part of the cookie has a shortbread taste, then you get a layer of caramel, not huge amount but just enough. Then they top it with milk chocolate. There are 18 decadent cookies in a box for $4.19 (not on sale) which is a bit pricey for me, but its one b of those days and it was cookie timeout for me. So this review is totally about the Gold Emblem caramel filled truffle cookie. Damn they are good. read more

Ever since this location has started locking there freezers the customer service has gotten worse. I asked an associate to open the freezer after seeing them open one of the cases and they told me no you have to press a button and request help. There is never anyone near by to open the freezer and when asking for help if your black they will give you the run around and not open the freezer for you. There is also no button in the fridge to request help just giant padlocks on the doors so you can't open it. They lock almost everything up deodorant razors, and food. But never have people there carrying the keys to open any of the locks and food is usually expired. But you know who does not the Duane read that's right up the block from them. Shopping here is a nightmare. read more

This is the case about EXPIRED REWARD CARD VS. MANAGER REFUSED TO GIVE BACK MY REFUND I made two items returned on this CVS store, the casher asked me for the card that I use but the card was a day expired, the casher made me swipe my expired card, after that I'm no longer able to get my money back because the card is expired, we called the manager and the Manager refused to give me back my refund, aren't they nice? ‍ God knows what happened. Literally the slowest cvs ever. The lines are always sooo long they go all the way down the aisle most of the time. The workers never seem to acknowledge that it's busy and continue to work at slow speeds. The pharmacy is even worse. They don't know anything and work as slow as snails when they have a line of maybe 10-15 people waiting for their prescriptions. I hate having to go here but it's the closest cvs to my house. This place doesn't deserve any stars. Today I went to buy my somethings for my mom, who is 84 years old, since the insurance gives her $150 OTC CARD, to buy at the pharmacy, I went and took about 12 things like toothpaste, tylenol, hands etc When I got to the register to pay, there was no one there, because today is September 5th Labor Day. and I asked the cashier a favor to pass 3 things at the time to check if they are cover by the OTC card, since no one was there... the man got upset and told me that there was a book to check for that, being angry he put the transaction in cash,didn't use the OTC,and he asked for my ID, I don't know why,so He call a girl, they talked, I asked She who was the manager and she didn't even answer me, and she kept walking, I called her and asked her again, she told me that she was but she was off duty, I told her that she just had to tell me that instead of ignoring me. but since the cashier couldn't solve he's mistake, she went to help him and told him that she would continue with me, so he took all the items and put them together, and since I told him I wanted to see which ones could get pay by the OTC card. she rudely refused to help me and kicked me out of the pharmacy. Tahity the Manager told me that I can't video her and she will not sale me anything. with employees like these this pharmacy should be close. If I could give 0 stars, I would. The pharmacy made me wait for an hour, only to tell me that CVS does not acknowledge my insurance?? Doesn't make sense since their minute clinic acknowledged it. I like CVS. It's where I go to grab shampoos and lotions and snacks. I think the reason why I like going here is because the pharmacy staff is pretty friendly and helpful. Last time I visited (this morning), the line went by pretty fast. I have to say that the self-checkout can be a bit annoying, especially when things do not go as planned, but if you are buying something personal, I could understand the concept. read more

I love CVS and wish there are more CVS around than the horrible duane reade. Comparing CVS and Walgreens/Duane reade, CVS usually have better pricing. This is the closest CVS around me so I'm here a lot for the weekly deals. The staff here are mostly very very nice and helpful, just to name a few, Paul, Gladish and Ira, Thank you for all your hard work! That being said, this CVS is very short handed, the staff are always overworked. I see one cashier running around checking people out and also helping the people using the self check out. All the other CVS I've been to are manned by at least 3 people in the front all the time. A lot of the times, the items on sale on the weekly ad are out of stock, and I was told to check back on delivery days, but then they are so short handed that on delivery days, no one has a chance to reload the shelf.. I just hope the management will hire more people soon. read more

I'm one of those "never posts reviews" types of people. However, my experience at the pharmacy is consistently unpleasant, with the exception of interactions with the staff ringing me out. The pharmacists have been unpleasant and even rude. I've had several experiences where I'm sent to consultation and I wait there with a pharmacist on the computer who doesn't take a moment to acknowledge the fact that I'm waiting. A simple, "I'll be with you in a moment" would make such a huge difference. But the real reason I'm writing this review is that I cannot call the pharmacy without being on hold for 10-20 minutes. I'm currently on hold at the 15minute mark. It's just absurd. Maybe they are incredibly understaffed? Idk.. but it's obnoxious and a huge waste of time. read more

I've worked in retail so I can cut them some slack. But I don't even bother with this CVS anymore. She's extremely patient and kind to our 4 year old and she tried to calm him down before the shot. The pharmacy is a complete mess. I went with my mother to pick up my medication prescribed to me by my general doctor. However, I didn't receive another medication. Unknowingly, I signed and payed the co-payment. I trusted the pharmacist to know what's in the bag. I go home and see my medication is missing. I am furious. I call cvs pharmacy several times and can't get a hold of their people or their staff is super rude and disrespectful. Finally I get a hold of their pharmacist Julia, who was not helpful at all and she keeps insisting that since I signed and payed the copayment, I would not receive my medication. This is ridiculous. It was a important refill which the insubordinates lied to me and said it was in the bag. This place is either full of insurance thieves because i don't know how many people are going through this and who else they are stealing from. They will take days and days to fill a prescription, because they won't contact the doctor to get necessary information and they ignore calls from the doctor. Pharmacy staff are very rude and dismissive on the phone, even when they have screwed up (and pharmacy staff that screw up is reason alone to avoid them). Horrible customer service in pharmacy. Rec'd a text yesterday that a new prescription was ready to be picked up - I was at the doctor's office three days ago which is when she sent in the prescription. Went in today to pick it up and after waiting on line for 20+ minutes - they were terribly slow and had only two of the three registers staffed despite eleven people on line at the pharmacy - I was told they couldn't fill the prescription. I showed them the confirmation code I rec'd when the prescription was first sent in and the text I rec'd saying it was ready but they still said they couldn't fill the prescription. No reason was given and I am not sure if they just couldn't find it in their disordered piles and piles of prescription bags. Now I have to contact my doctor and have her send the prescription to another pharmacy which will be a delay of at least one more day. The pharmacy is very chaotic and the staff is unprofessional, nobody seemed to be in charge and nobody seemed to know what was going on. Get your prescriptions somewhere else. You don't want people as careless as this to be filling your prescriptions. read more

I STILL loathe lazy drugstores that think self-checkout means the cashiers do nothing, except force people to use it.

This is specifically for the pharmacy staff at this location. I was having the worst day. Kidney infection. Nobody could pick up the prescription for me, so I went myself. These gentlemen really went out of their way to provide friendly and quick service so i could get in and out with my medicine. They also did it with a friendly smile. Really makes a difference.
