Here we go again with the one and two star reviews...but they still shop at CVS. You just can't change people who are very negative. Since I was in Hollywood yesterday, I needed to buy a few things from this CVS. Walked in around 3:15pm and got a very nice greeting from 2 of their security guards & couple of their employees. Very helpful. They were actually very pleasant too. One even took me to one of the aisles to show me what I needed. I am not going to take a photo of each item that I bought, but you will see the items that I bought from their aisles. This is an old CVS, compared to the ones that I have been to. It definitely needs a good paint job, renovation, and a carpet scrub. All employees were very helpful and kind. My cashier was Mary. I bought Bath tissue, (6 rolls), 1 box of Q-Tips, (250) count, Alcohol Prep Pads--their brand, (120) count, some Kaopactate, (2) count of 42, (over the counter medication for indigestion). 4 small travel pack Sensodyne toothpaste, an 8X6 frame, a Hello Kitty--TY plush toy, 2 M&M's and Red Vines from their candy aisles, used my 30% coupon and walked out with only paying, $24.50. I wish they can bring back the $10 Care pass. Need to get in contact with their HR department immediately. Can't comment on their Pharmacy, because we use another pharmacy near my house. It has an ATM machine, a photo booth, 4 self check out stations, and 2 water machines outside of the store to fill up your gallons. You don't see them that often anymore. It's HOLLYWOOD, baby. Hollywood does things right. Place was somewhat clean, aisles were not that easy to navigate, but they had everything that I needed. It was also kind of disorganized. They already brought all their Fall items, has a huge parking lot, a gender neutral restroom, and it's open 24/7 for our convenience. Even the pharmacy. read more

They only had magnets, keychains, mugs, playing cards, stickers, etc. No postcards. I even asked. I went to pick up an antibiotic prescription that I needed very badly to treat a staff infection. The pharmacist said there is no time to fill the prescription we close in 10 minutes. Their CVS app said it would be ready after 6 PM and the prescription was called in to them at 5 PM. The lady was very rude to me. I would not recommend using this pharmacy. Oh my god, there is not a single place on this earth that I despise with every fiber of my being more than this godforsaken CVS, and that's coming from someone who still shakes uncontrollably every time I enter a Dentist's Office. Trying to get prescriptions refilled here is SUCH a pain in the dick, and they're rarely transparent about it. They'll tell you on the app that they're ready for pickup, but then when you go in to get them, "Sorry, it's out of stock! Maybe try coming back two weeks from now?" LADY. I'm here to pick up a medication that I have to take literally every day so I don't spiral into a Major Depressive Episode; no, I can't wait two damn weeks!! In addition, they never have Adderall or Adderall XR here, and I've had to resort to either getting my meds refilled in my hometown (my hometown is a three-hour drive from here; I don't own a car) or walking/taking a bus 2 miles to the next town over to get my medicine. Fucking ludicrous. I'm extremely busy, and I'm sure 90% of people in LA are; we don't have the time to go on a wild goose chase across all of LA County to get our prescriptions, some of which may be life-saving. The pharmacy techs are incredibly unhelpful and awful with customer service, and if you're trying to get a hold of anyone via cellphone here (or at any CVS for that matter), good luck with that! Instead, you'll get connected to an AI automated service that doesn't do anything to help you, and instead has someone call you back in an hour! Guess what, CVS! Sometimes these matters are URGENT, as in I need to talk to someone as soon as possible. I'm not in the mood to have some shitty automated system dick around for 15 minutes before hanging up on me abruptly. It's a complete waste of everyone's time and should be classified as a form of torture. I've never seen a company so eager to make their customers' experience as miserable and unproductive as possible; it's actually diabolical. Not to mention that almost every time I've been forced to come here to pick up my meds (on the rare occasion that they actually HAVE them), there's always someone loitering outside the building doing some kind of drugs. My first week in LA, I saw a guy here doing a line outside the entrance, and the "security guard" didn't do anything. Should also mention, I wouldn't come here past dark, especially if you're a woman or female-presenting (like me). If you have to, please be careful as it's incredibly unsafe. Lots of shady activity. Oh, as for the shopping experience? Don't get your hopes up. Everything here is locked up. Milk, Hygiene products, makeup (even the damn frozen food aisle, like seriously?!). I had to wait almost 45 minutes in excruciating tooth pain one time for a worker to unlock the shelf that had Orajel. Such a fucking joke. In case this review wasn't long enough, fuck this CVS and don't waste your time coming here. If you don't have a choice and have to because of lack of transportation (like me) or out of convenience, god I am so sorry. read more

Rae today was excellent, super friendly and helpful. I loved how Rae clarified with a question after I made an ambiguous question. I'm a little tired today and realized she was right in not understanding my question. That's a great customer service experience! Those situations can be tricky in customer interactions and Rae handled it perfectly. I don't know Rae or any employee at this location other than as a customer. This is totally about the pharmacy. I went in yesterday, 10/8/20205. I needed to find out the status of some immunizations. They were pulling down the window and I asked the tech, Josselyn, if they could answer my question. She told me to ask the pharmacist. I feel so bad, I don't remember his name, but he also works at my regular CVS on Hollywood/Argyle, to cover them as well. Both of them were extremely nice and helped me right away with my question. I get it--much of what's frustrating about this CVS isn't really their fault. Theft is a big issue, and the store has had to adapt. That said, the shopping experience here is far from ideal. Nearly everything is locked up--from everyday essentials to basic toiletries--meaning you have to track down an employee just to grab what you need. And with limited staff, that can take a while. The pharmacists themselves are very poor on customer service and the pharmacy as a whole is extremely bad at following up with ordering prescriptions that are out of stock. Some of the people at the pick up counter have superior customer service, sone do not. Multiple times when they do call me, when I request a callback through the app, the pharmacist is obviously on speaker phone and can barely be heard. Just no consideration for those of us who are already having to suffer from illness. Overall, it's not worth using the pharmacy at CVS on Cahuenga when there are other CVS pharmacies in Hollywood. read more

Look, a lot of what is negative in this review is not CVS's fault. It's CVS responding to a bigger problem with the city, and the culture of Los Angeles. I understand that the reason everything is locked up here, is because this store gets stolen from all the time. I understand the reason they limit your time in the store, is because again, this place gets stolen from all the time. That's not CVS's fault. I totally get it. But, in terms of a shopping experience, it makes going to this CVS location a really difficult proposition. Basically everything is behind locked boxes, cages, screens. You have to get a store worker to unlock basically everything. And, you guessed it, there aren't that many team members. So it's difficult to get someone to come back and unlock it anyways. I avoid this CVS location if I can help it. It's just not an enjoyable place to shop. read more

Even with a barcode the staff cannot find prescriptions. I received confirmation that the prescription is ready, bring the bar code and still the pharmacist has to intervene to find anything. This CVS is a dumpster fire and is a terrible neighbor. Their excuse is patrons steal, shelves are empty because of understaffing - pay a decent wage, hire security and prosecute theft. read more

Hit the call button multiple times trying to get an item and did not get any help till I walked to the front of the store and tracked someone down. The store manager was rude to multiple customers while I was shopping. She swore at someone which is completely unprofessional. The only kind employee was a woman with name tag Rae, who had a positive disposition when she was finally able to help me. This CVS is like any other except that 1) it's open 24 hours, 2) has a free parking lot (in the middle of Hollywood), 3) is a decent size with good selection, 4) has automatic check out stations that accept Venmo and PayPal! All steps from Hollywood Boulevard. No complaints here. read more

Can't I give a zero star ? I try to not post negative reviews, but this place is beyond bad. My family and I have been going there for years, and for years weve talked about how bad the customer service is, but it keeps getting worse. I went for a vaccine a month or so ago, it needed a follow up vaccine so the person made a new appointment for me. I was surprised someone was proactive like that at this location. I went back for the second shot on the day and time specified, only to be told that i had no appointment there, it was at a different location, one Ive never been to in my life. They told me to have a seat and someone will be with me, they will transfer the appointment. After several minutes they had me come over to the speak with the pharmacist, who looked up my appointment, despite me saying the original was done there and the person who did that injection made the follow up appointment. I was told, "i dont know who did that, but you need to go to this other location" I will never step foot in there again, I am on the phone with my doctor to move my prescriptions, my family is doing the same. read more

I take it back. This place is a 1 star. I finally cut the chord and switched to another pharmacy. I was told on the phone my prescription would be ready after 1 pm. I go in a couple of hours later and wait about 30 min in line. Only to find that my prescription was not filled and there was an issue with my prescription. No phone call or text to warn me. The guy working had me wait in a 2nd line to speak with the pharmacist. After about 2 minutes, this same guy starts berating me in front of everyone asking why I was waiting in that line. To which I replied, that he had literally just told me to. Either this guy has severe short term memory loss or is just plain stupid. He continued to pester me. It is one of the rare times I started to lose my temper in public. People around me were just in disbelief as they witnessed the whole thing. I have never come to this location and had anything resembling a smooth experience at the pharmacy. After switching, it's mind boggling how I put up with the inefficiency, crime, and lack of cleanliness in this location. read more

They lie about their hours. The website clearly states it's 24 hours. Once I showed up early and they said they'd only let Instacart drivers in and today they claim their system is down. They have psychic abilities and know that it'll just be back up right at 6am. They won't let anyone wait inside and I walked here from home. It's raining and cold. Awhile back I bought a Target gift card from this CVS but because they rang it up wrong I didn't get any credit on the card and they couldn't figure out how to fix the issue, so after hours of back and forth with Target customer service they just threw up their hands and shrugged. read more

This store is a joke. We had an appointment yesterday at 7 pm for flu and covid shots. We checked in by mobile device and headed your way the pharmacy. We were made to wait 20 minutes past our appointment time because they couldn't be bothered to be ready for us. I get vaccinated every year, and have since I was 16. In 34 years I have never bruised from a vaccination injection. I did yesterday. Zero stars is more appropriate. We also witnessed the pharmacy staff talking down to angry patients who couldn't get their medications. It may not be the pharmacy's fault, but there was zero empathy for these other patients. The restroom is broken, the store is dirty, and there is a lot of broken equipment such as freezers. In short, STAY AWAY. read more

I'm just going to get right to it here. This store is SO filthy, the carpet and the whole place, just dirty. How anyone would want to get prescriptions here, is beyond me. I changed pharmacies long ago, but still stopped in to get certain things just for convenience of location. Now I go out of my way to avoid this dump. The parking lot is disgusting with garbage and trash and there's homeless people everywhere. It does not feel safe. They have a security person inside the door, which is good though. I'm sure it's necessary. With everything locked up due to theft, they need to have more people available to open up cabinets. Just to buy toothpaste is a pain, because you have to get someone's attention for assistance. One more dagger in the brick and morter business, as I'm forced to shop online at Amazon for more and more things that either aren't stocked at the store anymore (toothbrushes!!!) or are locked up creating inconvenience. I've recently relocated and was looking for a drive-thru pharmacy. I called in a refill as I was experiencing an issue on their app. the women on the phone seemed pleasant enough until she was blocking every question i had regarding my refill of 2 scripts. I continued to attempt to give her the RX number and other information from the label on the bottle when she just started going on and on as to why i wasn't able to ...( pretty much whatever I asked) then, hung up on me? I'm a patient trying to get a simple refill perscribed for my health. wtf? I immediately called back and at first was told they couldn't give me her name...then she got on the phone and started going on and on about why she couldn't put in the refill ( which made no sense since I was getting my refills from CVS for years). She's the manager at CVS Cahuenga blvd Ahni..or Ani? I've decided to transfer to someplace OTHER than CVS for all my shopping needs ( prescription or otherwise). read more

I recently had a prescription sent to this CVS by my doctor. On the same day, I got a notification from CVS that my prescription would be filled by noon the following day. Later that day, the notification was updated to say it would be filled by 5:00 pm the following day instead. In the afternoon, this was updated to say that the pharmacy didn't have the medication on hand and would have to order it, and that the process would take a few business days. Five days passed. Then, without any reason given, the status was changed to "order not filled" and my account showed no open prescription orders. I switched to the nearby Pharmacy of the West and they filled my prescription very promptly, with plenty of communication. In short, they treated me like a human being. Cannot recommend switching enough. read more

THIS was worst pharmacy experience I've ever had. I called in my medication and when I showed up I had to wait 45 minutes in line just for the pharmacist to tell me that they're running behind on filling prescriptions AND that one of my prescriptions was out of stock. She suggested I go to another location. Only... in order for me to transfer a prescription to another location, the original location needed to cancel the orders in process. You would think they would do it right then and there. Nope. So, when I went to a new location, they couldn't help me-- and by the time they tried to contact this location, the pharmacy had already closed. I tried to call and get a hold of them for two days. Nothing. on hold for hours with no response. I had to go DAYS without my medication because of this pharmacy. Going several days off of antidepressants is dangerous and I was experiencing some pretty horrible side effects from the sudden withdrawal. I would give 0 stars if possible. My doctor prescribed me my prescription to the wrong address and I'm actually happy they did! I've never wanted to write a review for a CVS but felt compelled to do so ... I went through the store because I had my care credit and some coupons and as I was standing in line Carol was helping some people at the self-checkout along with dealing with an irate customer ... she did this with patience and poise and a sense of humor ... She even opened another register because the other one was taking awhile ... This was the first CVS that welcomed me as I walked in! It was an older security guard who truly meant "welcome ..." and smiled kindly and said "thank you" as I left ... after he had just been screamed at by a mentally ill person ... This CVS is in the heart of Hollywood which those of us who live here know that it's full of some characters and my GOD what they must deal with ... but I will be changing all of my prescriptions to this location because even the pharmacy was kind and welcoming ... I walked in for a return in the small Asian lady Mary who was called over to help me kept saying to me "Don't walk around next time when you're making a return" and I didn't know what she was saying so I asked her to clarify because I was confused on what she was referring to. This location is in a rough area I get it. Ppl steal but she should have been more aware before assuming and then she said another girl was walking around. I kindly said " not all black people look alike" and that wasn't be and another worker confirmed that I came from the entrance to the register. Oh my GODDDDD. How quickly this place has gone downhill. The drive thru pickup lane never moves. I sat for 30 minutes and no movement, was blocked in by other cars also waiting. There's NOTHING that I hate more than a long unexplained wait. It Happens a lot here & no signs saying they are unavailable. If you call, they quickly say you're on hold and then don't pick back up again. They're now charging for delivery of meds - not sure if just this location but $7 for delivery down the street? Cmon.
