This is a great store in the neighborhood over by the Coligny Beach and Lowcountry Celebration Park area. We stopped to purchase some supplies for packing on our way home from our island visit. We enjoyed this side of the island because it feels more like the local side of the island where may locals live full time. I live out of state and I wanted to transfer my prescription to CVS on Pope Ave. HHI. I called several times to see if I could transfer a script from another location. Not easy. You call and the auto service pushes you from one spot to another. It would not let me talk to a live person. So leave a message and we will call you back. I get a call at 6:48 pm say yes your script has been transferred, but we close at 7pm.. I said I will right over.. I rush into the CVS at 6:57 and run to the back... It's now 6:58. The lady at the counter says Sir we are closing after this person. But mame you said to get here by 7pm and it's 6:58. Sorry sir she is the late customer. I said I rushed over here from Harbour Town because you said get her by 7pm. "I AM SORRY BUT WE ARE CLOSING AFTER THIS LADY" What are you serious??? it's 6:58, the pharmacy closes at 7pm. Now from me raising my voice I have 5 pharmacy employees staring at me like who is this dissatisfied customer? Not nice at all in the pharmacy. 1 younger girl that was filling in was pleasant but nobody else was when I asked for help.

I went to the Pope location on Monday, June 9th to get some medication for my daughter. I got the brand and delivery mechanism that her pediatrician recommended, but then saw there were two different active ingredients in the two boxes. I walked to the pharmacy to ask if they could tell me what the typical active ingredient was in prescription-level medication, and immediately I was met with hostility. The pharmacy had a sign that said they were closed, but as it was 7:04 and the pharmacy closed at 7:00, I wanted to try my luck at getting someone to answer a quick question that Google could not answer and that the pediatrician would have to call me back about, which would delay getting the medication to my daughter. The employee behind the counter was clearly still working, but said, "we are closed. Go ask at the front." I tried to say that it was a pharmacy question that would take less than a minute of her time, but she again cut me off and said to ask at the front. I went to the front and asked the employee my question. He, understandably, didn't know the answer to my pharmacy question and said the pharmacy employee should have answered my question. I walked back to the pharmacy and tried to ask again. The employee said again, they were closed and to ask at the front. I said that I did ask at the front and they didn't know and said to come back and ask at the pharmacy. She then said to come back at 9:00AM to ask my question. I tried repeatedly to get her attention and de-escalate the situation. I get it. I lived here for half my life. Tourists can drain the life out of you. But I was extremely patient and respectful throughout the interaction to that point. She was standing at the computer clocking out ignoring me. Then she comes around the corner, says she is clocked out now (which, why she refused to answer my question while she was on the clock is a bit confusing), but I could ask one of the other people at the pharmacy who were still on the clock and MAYBE they would answer my question. I said "Ma'am" 3 times as she walked past me and walked away. Finally, when she continued to ignore me, I said, "you don't have to be a dick about it." ( I should have chosen better words, and I am sorry about that) To which she said, "I'm off the clock. Who's going to pay me? You?" And I said, "sure! I will!" And she continued to walk away. Another pharmacy employee walked to the counter and asked if she could help me. I asked my question, she answered it, I apologized, and she said they had had a bad day and it showed. I said I understood and wasn't even mad. Everyone has bad days and it's hard to deal anymore once it is past a certain point. However, this employee was extremely unwilling to assist a customer while still on the clock, and that when met with calmness and a customer trying to de-escalate, the employee should not continue to do everything in their power to not do their job. Especially 4 minutes past pharmacy closing time when still on the clock. If it was not medication for my 4 year old that she needed sooner rather than later, I would not have even approached the counter. I called the pediatrician, googled it, and still was unsure of which of the two to get. I did everything I could to not even ask them because I knew the pharmacy had just closed, and I was sure they would be trying to pack up, do closing duties, and go home. This is the most popular pharmaceutical chain store that I know. The only reason we have been visiting this chain store over others is because our medical insurance coverage. This location was quite crowded when we arrived, and I am guessing it's location right off the busy 278 Circle is a good reason why it's busy. We were here to pick up prescriptions for a family member and we found the stores staff friendly and accommodating. read more

There are two CVS Pharmacy locations on the island. This one near the southern end of the island just outside Sea Pines Resort and another on the northern end of the island near the airport. This CVS is located close to a Walgreens pharmacy and a Harris Teeter grocery store with a pharmacy. The nearby Publix at the Island Crossing Shopping Center does not have a pharmacy. To my knowledge, these are the closest pharmacies to Sea Pines. We stopped in on a weekday to fill a prescription and also pick up some basic toiletries. The store was busy. Hilton Head has a lot of middle age and senior citizens, particularly on this side of the island. I saw many elderly folks coming in to pick up their prescriptions. As such, the pharmacy was staffed with multiple pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. They were very busy filling prescriptions, handling phone calls, the drive-thru window, and tending to other customers in-person. All the pharmacists and pharm techs seemed polite and competent. During this busy time, we were able to walk in and get a prescription filled in about 20-25 minutes. Not bad at all. While you're waiting for your prescription to be filled, you can try out the Dr. Scholl's footmapping machine or check your blood pressure for free. There's a MinuteClinic (a small doctor's office, no appointment necessary), immunizations, and you can get your passport photos taken here as well. Best of all, this location is open 24/7 (though not all services are offered 24/7). I'm not sure if this is available at all CVS locations, but there are magnifying strips on many of the densely packed shelves to aid customers in reading the fine print on various products' packaging. I'm sometimes amazed at the variety of things you can purchase at a CVS Pharmacy. It's more than just a pharmacy. You can fill your prescription and also pick up a DiGiorno pizza, Starbucks DoubleShot Espresso, wine, Edy's Ice Cream, phone charger, fabric softener, Philips Sonicare toothbrush, and some home accessories and decor on your way out. Be sure grab a circular just inside the entrance on your way in for weekly specials. The lady at checkout was friendly. read more

I called the pharmacy to check that my Dr.'s prescription has arrived. On hold for 10 minutes with noone answering. Hung up and called back, on hold again for 8 minutes before a lady picked up. I was explaining that I had been on hold for a very long time with no answer, and she got snippy saying they had just opened, and they had 4 other calls. Well, ok. So as I tried to explain why I was calling, she abruptly interrupted me and put me on hold again! Then, about 1 minute later, she came back and finally actually listened to me. This is the WORST pharmacy on the face of the planet. Avoid it at all costs. I received two texts telling me my prescription is ready but have been waiting 20 minutes to pick it up. And this happens EVERY time. (I have to come here because it's where my insurance is accepted.) I stopped in after work today ( Monday @ 7:30pm) to grab a few things for the house and as I was cashing out I used the cash/debit card machine because I had two separate orders and when I went to use my cash option first, I was met by a woman who worked there who was watching me cash out that I didn't even know she was there until she said "push the red button ma'am" as rude as she possible could say and I paid my cash order and I asked her if I could still pay for the rest of my order with my card and she actually scoffed at me with a look of disbelief on her face and told me to put in my cc when the machine said please wait, and she repeated for me to put in my card so I did and if course it cancelled my transaction so I tried again and the computer wouldn't let me choose and visa options because it seemed to be frozen so she said for me to use the pen and it still wouldn't work so she walked over and rudely took up most of the space to the check out machine so I decided to just use the tap option on the cc machine to avoid having to deal with a frozen computer screen again and that worked just fine, but when the machine gave me the option for credit or debit card she took it I'm herself to push the credit option instead of letting me choose my own payment method to cash me out. Once my order was completed without a word she turned around and walked away. I have always shopped at this location and my family uses the pharmacy here for all our prescriptions and never have I or anyone in my family ever been treated this way in the years of living here on the island. If there was a more convenient location for a store that was close between my workplace and my home I would definitely consider going there for our small store purchases, because being treated like I was trying to steal from the store and treated like an unwanted customer is something I would rather not deal with. read more

This review is for the minute clinic located in the store. My husband and I recently went because we had caught a bad cold that was getting worse not better. We were afraid of pneumonia and didn't want to wait till Monday to see our regular GP. We were seen by Emily Mayer who is a nurse practitioner who was working that day. She saw us both at the same time. She was kind, pleasant, thorough and diagnosed the condition and prescribed meds in about an hour with a 10 minute wait. (better than the Dr office) She took our insurance and gave us a printed copy of all she did plus handed us a card that we could call her with any questions after we left. We are both on the mend and were very impressed with her and so happy to have such a great service so close to home available to us. read more

This is the worst CVS. The pharmacists and her associate on duty today at 1:30 were nasty and unprofessional. they exhibited a total lack of respect or concern for seniors. When I was the brunt of her outburst, I refused to fill my prescription because I had concerns about the quality of the medication. This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a clinic/minuteclinic. We raced over there because the website and phone system said walk-ins were allowed until 5:15. We arrived at 4:50 and the screen stated the next appt was at 5:00. We were checking in to the kiosk and it kept blanking out and going to the start screen. I waited in line to see the pharmacist which was four people deep. She called the clinician who came out a few minutes later- and stated she couldn't see patients past 5:10- I showed her my phone that it was 5:09 and we had been waiting since 4:50. She told me I wasn't there waiting. Meanwhile my daughter is sobbing in pain. Don't doctors take an oath to treat all patients? We were there, waiting patiently and yet she tells me I am lying and refused to see my daughter for something which I could tell you would be a two minute appt- she has swimmers ear. I am furious and what's worse is her attitude and lack of any type of care or concern for the well being of a child. I will never use this store for anything in the future. read more

The minute clinic is absolutely the best. Kathryn Billings is a true professional. She is conscientious, compassionate, and has an abundance of patience. We are on vacation and my 6 year old grandson had pain in his ear. We went to the CVS pharmacy for the minute clinic. We were seen immediately by Ms. Billings. She was kind and had a great rapport with my grandson.It turned out he had swimmers ear and she prescribed medication and within 15 minutes we were out getting ice cream. It took 5 days to fill my prescription and even then they gave me a substitute medicine because their vendor failed to deliver what they were out of stock with in the beginning. in addition to taking a ridiculous amount of time to fill my prescription, The staff and pharmacist were rude and incompetent. The pharmacist opened another patients record in the computer system and then proceeded to argue that I was not on my own insurance card. I will NEVER return to this store. Awful service in the pharmacy. Refused to fill a Dr. script because...."we feel uncomfortable filling and we have that right". Dr. called next day and it was filled wo issue. Except, I had to live without needed medication and became very ill. They often have meds out of stock & they won't contact other CVS pharmacies to check on their supplies. In addition, dropped off husband's refill last week. It's still not here. Had to send him to get a new script so he could have it filled someplace else. I love when they have the meds, but want you to come back 6 hours later to pick them up. However, Problem solved...another pharmacy now has my $1k+ my family spends on needed medications every month. If you aren't having an issue w/ meds, insurance, or a doctor's authority... don't mess with a patient's needs! It isn't YOUR call CVS.
