Basically this place has everything I need. The outstanding help every time I go there comes from Debbie behind the counter who is friendly knowledgeable, and always there to help. From experience, I know to add one day to whatever date I'm told my script will be ready. Last week, I drove over to this place, as usual, I waited on a long socially distanced line. Upon reaching the counter and asking for my scripts, I was informed they were not ready. When I let Cassidy (?) know that the IVR system informed me that my they would be ready, she told me my meds would not be ready for two more days. "Well, why then did your system inform me they would be ready for pick up yesterday?" Then Cassidy impolitely informed me that... "I understand your frustration." That's all I needed to hear; I hate that BS, canned customer service phrase. This pharmacy is perpetually understaffed with low energy "snowflakes." I'm in the process of switching to CVS-a longer drive but I need a pharmacy staffed with experienced, hard working people.

You can literally read the customer names on the prescriptions sitting in the alphabetized bins behind the counter. Have they never heard of HIPAA before??? Secondly, when their automated refill system glitches out, you have to wait 15+++ minutes to get someone on the phone who will man-splain to you that it's your fault because you don't know how how to enter a prescription number (NO SIR. I PASSED THE THIRD GRADE. TRY AGAIN). Or, better yet, this really happened, they tell will you, "you're not one of our customers. You meant to call the walgreens down the street." NO! I'm 1000% positive that I meant to call YOUR WALGREENS because I'm looking at my prescription bottle and it has your phone number and address on it. As if we need a third reason here, they have literally lost my prescription before. They said, "it's been refilled, but we can't find it." They spent 10 minutes shuffling through all their alphabetized HIPAA violation bins before giving up and remaking it. Mistakes happen, but none these things have ever happened at any other pharmacy that I have been to.

I mentioned this to the cashier and he said I need to use my card. I returned the candy and he processed my refund. He said I needed to prove identity to get the refund. I gave him my VA card. He said that was not acceptable. I gave him my CT drivers license. He said it expired in 2023. I said it's the same information, has a photo and CT license #. He said the refund would not process without a current drivers license. I dug out my current drivers license and gave it to him and he processed the refund. We then rang up the candy again with the Walgreens card and it gave me the 25% discount and I saved @ $10.00. I am wondering why I had to show ID to get a refund from something I just purchased with cash 2 minutes prior. The sign on the candy did not say 25% off with use of card. It said 25% off. I am glad I checked my receipt. I did get the discount but it took time and I had to prove identity to get a refund and then re buy the candy. A lot of time wasted. George Thomson

That being said I consider myself a pretty good judge of pharmacy offerings. I have been to this location a couple times. I love this new CVS on lower Dixwell Ave!! It's spacious with great quality products. There is a good variety of healthy snack foods, fun seasonal items, and an impressive health and beauty section. If my husband wasn't waiting in the car I would definitely have stayed longer. It is a lovely addition to our area. You should check it out!

When we arrived, there was a sign that said closed due to renovating.. Fortunately, there were 2 women sitting out front, one taller woman who was in her approximate 60s and an older woman sitting around 80 years old. My wife approached both ladies and explained we had a couple of items to donate. The woman in her "60's" immediately in a loud offensive manner said WE'RE CLOSED, WE'RE RENOVATING!!!! AND WE DON'T TAKE THINGS ON FRIDAYS. My wife told her the website says you take things On Fridays. The lady in her 60s turned her back on my wife and walked away. I will never donate to Charlie's Closet again. The lady in her 80s did apologize to my wife.
