Turkey club on wheat

This place has pretty good sandwiches hot or cold. Sometimes its busy but they move pretty quickly to get your order ready. I will say that 10% of the time you don't get enough cold cuts in your sandwich but that happens everywhere. But all in all pretty solid place for a quick bite to eat and snacks.

Writing this review for one reason only- the sandwiches! That's right---that little place in the middle of the parking lot with a name on the sign you couldn't pronounce if your were drunk, Krauszer's, has the best sandwiches. Everything? Yes, everything- multiple sizes, small (roll), medium (7 in) and large (10 in), Boar's head meats and cheeses and toppings galore. But what really makes this place one of my "must stops" when I'm home from DC is that they don't skimp. When I order a turkey, BLT, I'm getting equal amounts of bacon and turkey and for $6! Of course I need a drink or chips with that but hey, its a convenience store so I know they've got anything accompaniment I want in that place. They have Wachusett chips fro $0.35...now where they do that at? Nobody has chips that cheap anymore. Open 24hours a day, you just can't beat this place for a good sandwich. Subway ain't got nuttin on Krauszer's!

Krauszer's is a hidden gem, and having grown up in the area, I can tell you first hand that the chain goes underappreciated by the people who live around here. This deli differentiates itself by staying open 24 hours. In this area of Connecticut, the lights are out by 10:00pm. Nothing is really open. Krauszers not only stays open all night, but they keep their complete deli open and offer full service food preparation. Their sandwiches are particularly good. Their deli is not luxury stock, but it is much higher quality than other deli chains, such as Wawa and Sheetz. Their sub rolls are very good and their hard rolls are excellent. I recommend trying some of their specials as a way of getting a good deal and trying deli meats you may have never had before. They get some interesting things in there. Their deli has a full service grill where 24/7 you can order bacon, eggs, chicken nuggets and strips, french fries, etc. Their prices on all deli items are excellent, and they serve better foods than 24/7 stores anywhere I've been so far with the possible exception of some major cities. Their convenience store is pretty average, with prices that are a bit high, but any downsides to their convenience business are far outweighed by their deli, which truly is the only game in town for sandwiches overnight. They blow the diners out of the water, though admittedly there is no place to sit on site. One other slight downside is that it can get pretty busy during the day, so if you show up during the lunch or dinner rushes, prepare to wait a while for your food. Overnight, you can be in and out in 5-10 minutes. Enjoy

Enjoyable steak and cheese sandwich at a reasonable price. We ordered a large quantity of sandwiches and everything was ready as promised.

They made my day. This location sells Banana Hi-Chews. My favorite flavor. Now I don't have to get my brother to mail them from Cleveland

Mario's sandwiches have gone downhill. If you get one from any of the ladies they will 9/10 times be perfect. It's 50/50 with The gent Mario

It wasn't busy & there were a few Yale employees & students shopping there also. Liked: Great variety & lots of healthy options. The woman who worked at the register was very nice. Disliked: $35 for 2 wraps & 2 sodas which is way too expensive. We ordered two wraps by number (#11- turkey avocado wrap on whole wheat & #12 - chicken avocado wrap on spinach). The guy was alone making them was wearing a NY ball cap seemed very annoyed. We clearly stated to add bacon on the spinach wrap & he proceeded to put it on the other wrap. Then he made my wrap where I could not see it & he didn't make anything I ordered. My chicken avocado wrap was to according to their chart I ordered by made to have grilled chicken, avocado, roasted peppers, lettuce & cucumber. Instead he made a chicken wrap with spinach, onions, peppers, mushrooms & mozzarella cheese. No cucumber or avocado. Lots of everything I didn't order & nothing I did order than the chicken & bacon. I ate a few bites of it & had to throw the $14.99 wrap in the garbage. What a waste of $ I didn't appreciate due to him going rouge on my order. He also made my husband's wrap & then stopped mid making mine & took people who just came in orders & started fixing their orders before finishing mine. We had to wait for him to finish before we could pay & eat.

And I've run the gamut with them - sandwiches, hot buffet, necessities, drinks, salads, etc. Let's start with my favorite - the hot buffet. Good Nature has had this since they took over from Gourmet Heaven, the predecessor. The food is hot, fresh and flavorful. Be careful - buffet by weight are a restaurant scam. They put tasty heavy things out to bring up the price. They, like 1000s of others, are preying on human nature. Don't complain if you filled up the tin. Use the smaller tin (not tin but styrofoam) and get better on your portion control. It is cheaper and healthier too. The deli counter is huge. Build your own, designed sandwiches, paninis, custom salads, you can cover every appetite here. Pro tip - order in person. Some staff are ESL and don't always get the write in via grubhub or snackpass for example. Plenty of chips and sides and drinks of every type are available. Second Pro Tip - check your drink when taken from the cooler. The coolers aren't always that cool and the cooler can or bottle might be 2d or 3rd in the rack. Good Nature has lots of other stuff from food, necessities, TP, fruit, baking and cooking ingredients, grocery items, salad dressings, sauces, as well many other so- called healthy things. Often these items are all priced at a premium. On the issue of pricing, when I wrote NYC Sharp, I meant it. In sleepy NHV and CT generally, people assume every one is honest to a fault. Given the mostly Spanish speaking staff and Asian ownership/management, both ESL, communication issues abound and I chalk up the pricing snafus to being sloppy, poor communication and general sloth. Because they have no real competition on this side of town, they set the market price and it is high, mostly on the grocery goods and drinks. The fresh foods are generally competitive and you only can blame yourself for piling up 2lbs of hot buffet. Almost forgot to mention - indoor seats for lunch as well as a few nice canopied tables outdoors.

Her attitude was rude, disrespectful, and completely uncalled for. Even while I was paying for "two" coffees, she continued making comments. Absolutely unacceptable customer service. I won't be returning to this location and suggest you stay far far away. I will be sending a letter to the 7-11 corporation as well as the better business bureau.

But the professionalism of the staff has been incredible. I am writing this because I know what I have personally seen. I never saw the racism that is described in the reviews. On every occasion I witnessed, the staff never reacted in any inappropriate way and just let the person rant away. Unfortunately the people I witnessed were all African American which only applies to what I personally saw. I am sure they have had other unhappy customers from all nationalities and backgrounds but it is only appropriate to speak of my personal experience. One man for example ordered a sandwich loaded with meat, she brings the sandwich to him and he said he didn't want it. The man attendant simply asked him to leave the property and not come back. He stayed in the parking lot speaking to other people. He left when I was leaving. Last week a woman had a slew of lottery tickets, then takes the scanner and tells the same attendant the the woman waiting on her couldn't do it right. Today, a young man parked before I did, he walked in after me, saw me standing at the counter, went to the next register and go waited on. For the record only I happen to be caucasian. I chose to say nothing and wait to be waited on. The place is kept extremely clean, and I have been there when someone cleans up the floor, including losing lottery tickets discarded by patrons. Please everyone to be helpful and fair proof read your review before you post it. I know for a fact at other businesses I witnessed upset patrons and know what they wrote was not accurate.
