The Pharmacist embarrassed me, and broke HIPAA laws. I was humiliated. I waited patiently for an hour after I dropped off my prescription. Stephen, the pharmacist, from 20' away shouted questions at me about my prescription. I didn't want to answer his inappropriate questions in front of the four people in line, so I told the pharacist that I needed to hurry things up because I needed my medicine urgently, he then informed me that I should "plan three days ahead" so that "I wouldn't be in this situation". He was telling me to manage my time better, after I had politely and patiently waited for over an hour to fill a prescription. read more

This pharmacy has the worst customer service ever. The employees act like robots. No eye contact, zero warmth, and zero concerns for wait times. Every time I am there, I shuffled back and forth between various people because certain registers don't have computer access. More often than not there are long lines. If I have extra questions there is always resistance and dismay displayed by the staff. It is worse than the DMV or Post Office. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else to get your Pharmacy needs handled. read more

Horrible experiences in pharmacy department. People I had to interact have very little regard of anything. They are incapable and give you cold shoulder when you are in need of help. I went there to pick up my medication without knowing that the prescription didn't go through and they acted like I was there to scheme some drugs. Last thing you want o deal with when you are in pain. read more

I was in town visiting and thought i would buy a powerball ticket. I went to the cvs and went in. I noticed the cashiers had no customers at their registers and proceeded to the powerball machine. I noticed that someone had placed an antiseptic wipe into the cash receptacle. I thought that was interesting but thought nothing of it so I took it out. I placed a twenty dollar bill into the receptacle, which was accepted, and pushed the powerball button and nothing happened. I tried a couple more times but it would not work. The machine had a message to contact management if there was a problem and I did. The manager whose name was Tom asked if I took out the wipe. I responded that I had. He asked why I did that because that was the out of order indicator until the real sign was made and posted. I asked how I was supposed to know that and he indicated that there was no other reason for it to be there. I told him that I was a high school science teacher and seeing things stuffed into receptacles was a common occurrence for me and asked if I could get my money back since I had bought nothing. He indicated to me that there was nothing he could do, a sign was being made and the only thing I could do was to buy a scratcher ticket. He walked away. It seems to me he could have had someone wait by the machine until people put money in since there were workers doing nothing. read more

What did you do to my nice store? It looks some suburban interpretation of an inner city downtown drug store. They shrunk it and crammed everything together. Yay for cart collisions! The pharmacy now does refills a lot faster, that's good. But they have also messed up multiple times, only filling one of two refills, etc. I like the big place in Novato with the red and white bulls-eye a lot more... read more

Do Not recommend Where do I even begin? This has to be the worst pharmacy that there is in Marin. If you can pleas stay away from this pharmacy. Last month I tried calling my prescription in first thing on a Sunday morning around 9am. I scheduled a 1pm pick up. At 1:30 I got to the pharmacy to pick up my prescription and the pharmacy said it was not ready yet, but that I could wait for fifteen minutes for it to be ready. I said fine but was slightly annoyed because the reason I called it in was to not have to wait for it. Five minutes within waiting the pharmacist calls me up to the front and informs me that the pharmacy is out of the prescription. At this point I am just confused as to why they could not have informed me about that the same morning. The pharmacist then goes on to tell me that the prescription will not be ready until tomorrow, but the whole point in picking up the prescription that day was because I actually needed it that day. I then had to wait for the pharmacist to call the San Rafael and San Anselmo pharmacies so that I could actually have my prescription on time. She is finally able to reach San Anselmo and I am told that I have to wait another hour for it to be ready at that location. At this point I am totally livid and have spent half my day just trying to get my basic prescription. Let me just say when I got to San Anselmo I walked in, got my prescription, and walked out with no issues. The next month I new that I had to do something to make sure I got my prescription on time. I called the prescription in that morning and the automatic voicemail informs me that my prescription is no longer available at this location. The pharmacist and I never spoke about changing locations, we just spoke about me picking up the prescription the month before in San Anselmo for that one occurrence. I then have to wait on hold to speak to an actual pharmacist and explain to her that I need it by Sunday and would like to keep it at the Bon Air location. She says that it will be ready on Sunday by 12. On Sunday I decide to go to the pharmacy at 1:30 cause I figure it won't be ready at the time they gave me. I get there at 1:30 thinking I gave them a nice hour and a half cushion, and low and behold after waiting in line for ten minutes to get my prescription it's still not ready. The pharmacist than goes on to tell me that it I will have to wait 30 mins for it to be ready. I end up sitting there for 30 minutes and I look at my phone and I am getting a call from CVS. I pick up the call and a different pharmacist goes on to tell me that they are out of my medication. At this point I'm thinking to myself this can't be possible.....NOT AGAIN. I inform her the same thing happened to me last week and she tells me that I can wait another 10 minutes and get a generic form of the medication. At this point I don't want to run to another cvs like before and get my actual medication and I can't wait till Monday, so I end up waiting another five minutes for a prescription, which is technically not even the one I was supposed to get. So within the last two months the pharmacy has not been able to get me my prescription on time, and they have not been able to supply me with my actual prescription at all. read more

This place is abysmal. I call in prescriptions and 12 hours later they aren't ready. The pharmacy staff clearly despises working there and going there is generally a miserable experience. Yelp needs a zero star rating. read more

Terrible experience. I was charged the wrong price on a item, I had to drive all the way back to the drugstore and the manager of the store gave me a hard time because I didn't have one of their discount cards. This place claims to be a 24-hour pharmacy, but save yourself time and aggravation and stay away. I've been waiting for more than an hour to have their pharmacy answer a routine call during normal business hours. If you can't get your call answered, you can't trust this pharmacy to get the Rx right or have it on time. I agree with Jill R's review, dated 8/15/2016 - this CVS is "just the worst." read more

The store and pharmacy continue to find ways to disappoint. The design and layout of the store is not very appealing - which is especially sad as it underwent a renovation less than 4 years ago. The biggest issue is the pharmacy - it is a complete mess - I have yet to have a prescription take less than 2 hours to fill when waiting (recently I was in the store and the time from drop off to the prescription being ready was 2.5 hours - despite me waiting in the store and asking about it every 30 mins and despite 8 people working behind the counter). More frustrating is that they have no commitment - I have dropped off prescriptions in the late afternoon and asked to pick them up the following morning - of the 5 I have done this with, none where ready at the promised time and I had to wait over an hour the next morning. Phoned in prescriptions have been the same story. When talking to any of the staff about anything they have all been surly and not helpful. None seem happy to be working there. It appears that there is a serious management and training issue at this store. I hope they solve it, but I am going to find somewhere else to fill my scripts in the meantime. I am sick of wasting my time at CVS. read more

The pharmacy is a total joke. I waited on the phone for 30 minutes to get a basic prescription question answered, only to have a pharmacists pick up the phone not knowing I was on the line. After 10 minutes of listening to them talk to someone in the pharmacy, I had to hang up and start over again. Now, I've been waiting 20 minutes with no answer. This pharmacy is overwhelmed, or the employees are undertrained; probably both. read more

This place is a fucking joke! I went into this cvs because it was the closest 24 hour pharmacy to me and I really needed medication, and a friend needed baby diapers. I was in a pleasant mood and the cashier whom apparently is the manager on duty was so rude to me! I was in a fairly good mood and tried to strike up a conversation mainly just a high, bye, thank you, and just starting your shift? He was so rude and told me that these questions were non of my business. Geez I was trying to be friendly! I am considering filing a formal complaint with cvs corporate! He also told me to go and find an item myself! I work for one of cvs major competitors. If I told a customer to go find something on their own, my ass would be fired very quickly. It was Saturday night he is a man with grey hair. I will never shop in this cvs again! read more

This is the worst pharmacy I have ever used. They can't keep a pharmacist, let alone a manager for more than one month. The customer service is appalling, and they never have the RX ready when promised, or they can't find it, or they are out of stock. You can never find these things out until you have waited in line and when it is your turn they are scurrying around trying to find it. Just last week, we were given a RX with someone else's name on the medication. when we brought it to the attention of the pharmacist, she informed us it was her first day there. There are only 2 employees in the entire pharmacy that are worth noting as well qualified, professional and knowledgeable. read more

Throughout the years I have noticed a change in personnel at the CVS location. However, for a number of years there have been several dedicated employees at the pharmacy which is the primary reason I use this store. Both Teresa, a technician and Brett, a pharmacist, provide excellent service! I know whenever I work with them that they will find solutions quickly to my problems and understand the at times , complex issues with my medications. Although other staff can be less skillful I recognize that this is a difficult store to work out and these two individuals are excellent! read more

I would give it five stars if it wasn't for the weird grumpy guy. Over all I like this place a lot. I go here WAAAY to often. It's on my way home from work and great to pick up random stuff I always seem to forget at Safeway. Over all the staff is nice (except that one guy), efficient, (even the grumpy guy is quick), and the store is clean. Not sure why the bad reviews. read more

Me and my friend were minding our business in the store trying to purchase some late night snacks and one of the marshmallow bags in aisle fell on the floor. The employee came into the aisle and accused us of knocking it over asking if we were just going to make a men and walk a way in a rude tone. We picked the bag up even if it wasn't our mess but still received a nasty look from the man. This review would have been 1 Star if it wasn't for the lovely young man at the cashier who provided great service and made our negative experience slightly better. read more

The pharmacy within the Greenbrae CVS drugstore has never had a good reputation for the 12 years I've been shopping there. However, in the past couple of months, the service and the long, long waits for prescriptions are completely out of hand. If one attempts to call the pharmacy during daylight hours, be prepared to be placed on hold for a minimum of 10 minutes, and most likely a lot longer. If true to form, your call will then be "accidentally" disconnected or you'll be put on yet another tedious hold. If you dare venture into the pharmacy in person, be prepared to wait in line for another 30-60 minutes. Dropping off prescriptions can take just as long as picking them up these days. And promised ready dates for prescriptions are often not met. This plays havoc with prescriptions that the pharmacy will not fill a day or two early, then doesn't fill it on time, leaving the customer without their meds altogether. The manager of the CVS store told me today that he has no control over the pharmacy. That distinction belongs to the District Pharmacy Manager, whose name us Eyob, but the (707) phone number the manager gave me reached a Courtney, whose job title was not mentioned in her voice mail, and informed us she's on vacation until next week; with no alternate person or number given. I would suggest that everyone who has been dissatisfied start calling CVS Corporate and demand a retooling of this particular pharmacy. We pay a good deal to live in this county, and if a store cannot meet the minimalist needs of its customers, it should close its doors. Perhaps some pressure should be put on the Bon Air Real Estate group as well - if they can boot out our beloved Ben & Jerry's, why not a dysfunctional pharmacy? I appreciate the opportunity to vent on Yelp, but it's not solving this particular community problem. read more

WORST pharmacy EVER! Do not get your prescriptions here, they are either short staffed, or do not keep there promises for when your medications are to be ready. Horrible horrible place. read more

This has got to be the worst pharmacy of any. They are constantly messing up my prescriptions forcing me to come several times a month because they are unable to consolidate them. They say I have no refills when I do, then refill prescriptions when I don't need them. That's not the worst. Because they screw up seemingly everyone's prescriptions there is a long slow line of mostly disgruntled customers who are complaining about the very things that I am experiencing vowing to never come back (as I constantly promise myself). The problem being they are the only pharmacy in my neighborhood. I loathe my visits knowing there is a 50/50 chance they'll get it right, and knowing I am in for a long wait with a group of frustrated people. Most of the people who work at checkout are nice, but they bear the brunt of customers frustrations while trying to appease people. It's difficult not to complain about how they mess up everything, and they are the only people you have to speak to. It must be a miserable job! I read a comment about mail order pharmacy and I'm going to look into that because I just can't bear putting myself through this anymore. read more

The store itself is fine, no issues there; HOWEVER, the Pharmacy is an absolute mess! They continue to get things wrong and it takes them forever to answer phone calls and provide any sort of customer service. If your Pharmacy is so busy, then why not hire additional help to handle the call load? As result of this incredibly poor level of service, I decided to move the meds to another local Pharmacy (also a large National chain, but they actually answer their phone calls and provide good customer service). After multiple attempts by new pharmacy to request transfer of medications, and multiple calls from me directly to CVS to try and get them to respond to the new pharmacy and complete the transfer... STILL NOT LUCK! This has been going on for over 2 weeks, and now in need of a refill, I have no choice but to contact my Doctors office and ask them to call the new pharmacy to order my meds all over again. In short, everyone has to work hard to do something so simple, only because this particular CVS pharmacy does NOT do their job. Do yourself a favor and go to another pharmacy, if you wish to have good service. read more

Eight out of 10 visits to this particular CVS always wind up with me coming out feeling angry, upset or frustrated. How many times have you forgotten one item that was almost within arms reach and you asked politely if you can quickly grab it? It happens to all of us. I was in line today with quite a few items and I forgot one thing. I had promised my son a candy bar and I asked the cashier if I could please grab it and she looked at me in the eye and said OK. When I came back she had allowed somebody else to come in line and had voided my transaction. She told me she had to because there were other people waiting behind me in line. It wound up taking her twice the amount of time to void each and every individual item and re-ring it up that all the other people that had been waiting in line went through the other line Before she finished with me. So essentially she wound up holding the lineup twice as long. Again I felt embarrassed and I already felt bad to ask to jump out of line and take 10 steps to grab a candy bar. I even ran and counted the amount of seconds it took me. It took exactly 10 seconds. I wish she would have just said no I'm sorry I have to take the next person in line. I would've left the candy bar behind. It wound up being twice the hassle for everyone. I feel like things like this happen the majority of the time that I go in to CVS. I've asked other friends if they have similar experiences and they say yes. I don't experience things like this when I shop at other stores. I absolutely despise the self entitled behavior that I experience so frequently in Marin and make a very conscious effort not to behave in any of the ways that would bother me if it were The other way around. I know it's easy for people to jump to conclusions and assume that the person complaining about poor service must be somehow rude or entitled them selves. I thought long and hard about it before I wrote each of these reviews to check myself and make sure I wasn't the one in the wrong before I spoke out. Everyone makes mistakes, And everyone occasionally forgets things. I make it a point to ask permission and also to apologize when I've done any of these things to make sure that I'm not stepping on any toes. again...yuck! Left feeling terrible. I do avoid this store the majority of the time, but sometimes I just suck it up and go there because it's one minute from my house. read more

Why all the hating on this Longs? They have a great selection and pharmacy! It's a DRUGSTORE, not a Nordstrom. The pharmacy here is a complete disaster, and has been for years. Extremely long wait times to get to the counter, and the prescriptions are almost never ready as promised. I've learned to give them an extra 2 days (!) after my promised delivery time before I even attempt to pick up a prescription, and even then 50% of the time they still are not ready. And obviously this doesn't work at all if it is a prescription you need filled the same day. Management of the pharmacy has utterly failed to run this location responsibly. Not sure what's with all the bad reviews. Typically when someone is visiting a pharmacy its because they're sick or have to pick up some medication for a nagging symptom of some sort, so I guess people are naturally going to be short tempered and impatient with just about anyone in this situation. We are thankful we don't have to visit pharmacies too often but we've always had a good experience here. If you want to see bad customer service, check out the CVS down by Northgate Mall. I definitely prefer this pharmacy to the Walgreens in San Rafael. Went here to get my Rx refilled (I'm from out of state). I gave them sufficient time to get the transfer from my pharmacy. A chain pharmacy is a chain pharmacy for the most part. Big, impersonal, a place where you can buy anything from martini olives to nose hair tweezers and from paperback romance novels to Depends, just a bit too much stuff for my taste. But in a pinch it is good to know there is that type of place to rely on when all else is closed (holiday) and you desperately need an As Seen on TV lint remover. On Christmas day I experienced the unthinkable, in-laws en-route and no vodka in the liquor cabinet, but not to worry. I hopped in my car and in two minutes I had a discounted gift box of Kettle One and a carton of fresh squeezed OJ. Score. Basically the three stars I assigned is for the clerk who had the awareness to inform me that the juices expiration date was the following day. After replacing it we conversed briefly and off i went into the night. So as far as chain pharmacies go I couldn't tell Walgreens from CVS or Rite Aid from the next place and while I am not a fan of the demise of the mom and pop I realize this as our present reality which is no fault of this clerk. So while we sit drinking egg nog and hot toddies by the fire in our slippers don't fail to acknowledge these folks. The ones who go about their job with the right spirit and no attitude or sense of deprivation. Cheers and thanks for being there, now which aisle are the Doans Pills? read more
