I even called the customer service desk twice and they said they were letting the pharmacist know that they needed to get my call and I still got hung up on both times. I have an extremely busy full time job in customer service as well, and I stay late at the office because of the time I waste at work trying to call Walgreens. This abysmal lack of service would never ever fly at any place I've ever been employed.

Ten days later, the staff said to come in, and it would be filled within 45 minutes. When I showed up later that day, the pharmacist refused to fill it until he spoke with my doctor. That was fine, although highly inconvenient to travel to the pharmacy twice to pick up my prescription, only to be told they would not do it after I arrived. I asked if they could give me a date to pick up the medication, and if it was two or three weeks out, that's fine, and I'll come back at that time. I was then told, for the first time in this 2-week debacle, that the DEA flagged the refill, which is why they need to speak with my doctor. That seemed reasonable, in general, but unbelievable in this case. They never mentioned it before despite my inquiries. My doctor did not believe that and sent the order to CVS. CVS filled the medication within 45 minutes. No DEA flag, which would have shown up in their system if it were true. Evidently, the pharmacist lied to my face about something as significant as the DEA flagging a medication. In sum, the pharmacist accused me of doing something nefarious, misled me multiple times by telling me to pick up my medication and then refusing to fill it after I arrived at the pharmacy, and worst of all, lied to my face about the DEA flagging it. Moreover, they made little to no effort to reach my doctor, and their inefficient system, with no line for medical providers (which is inexplicable), made it impossible for my doctor to reach them without waiting on hold for 20 or 30 minutes. I know of two pharmacists at this location. One of them, the white male, is dishonest and offensive. He lied to me when he could have filled the prescription or given me a later date at which time he would have been willing to do so. He refused to call my doctor when I asked him to reach out one more time to resolve the situation. I am not concerned about his refusal to fill the prescription. He probably felt he was doing his job. However, at a minimum, a patient should expect honesty and respect rather than dishonesty and false accusations.

Then, my first prescription refill was needed, and they told me there was a shortage (I was aware) and there was no date in sight to get it. Unhelpful. Sorted that out by going elsewhere. Thought I'd give them another chance with another prescription refill. This one needed a prior authorization. I requested it several weeks before I would run out to give time to navigate these hiccups. I was traveling internationally for a few weeks and came back with no communication. I texted them to check and they let me know the prescriptions were ready for pick up. I went to pick them up and the one prescription was still being charged as self-pay/out of pocket for $1k. When I asked, they said it still never got the prior auth. They also had my number incorrect, which would explain why they were not proactive at telling me what was available for pick or up not. Now I'm about to run out of my asthma medication and have no resolution in sight due to the lack of communication. Overall: communication was terrible, service not much better considering all the issues I was up against. Some of that is not their fault, but they didn't handle it very well either. I've transferred my prescriptions back to my last pharmacy.
