Service was quick but because I was the only one in there. Mostly clean and greatly labeled. Lots of things on the end caps. Barely any bare shelves. Pharmacy in the back. I had an extremely frustrating experience at CVS because of an associate named Mariela. I asked for $40 cash back, which the card reader clearly stated was available, but Mariela flat-out lied and told me I could only get $20. Even after checking the register and seeing that she had enough cash, she still refused to give me the amount I was entitled to. I detest liars, and Mariela's dishonesty and terrible customer service made this an infuriating visit. To make things worse, I've seen other shoppers casually walk in, take products off the shelves, and walk right out without paying--while the employees did nothing to stop them. It's ridiculous that CVS has no problem letting theft happen in plain sight but won't provide proper service to paying customers. CVS needs to get its act together, and Mariela needs serious training in honesty and professionalism. read more

I had a horrible experience. I would NEVER shop there again. I went to CVS to purchase eight Gillette Fusion 5 razor cartridges. I have owned a Gillette Fusion (no, #5) and wanted to purchase an new blades. My dilemma was the Fusion I owned was older and I wanted to make sure the cartridges were compatible with my older razor. All the Gillette cartridge replacements are locked so I couldn't review the replacement box (price $36.95) to ensure these new blades would work on my older razor. I reached out to an attendant to assist me open the behind the security glass and then politely asked her to help me understand if the new Fusion 5 blades were compatible with my original Fusion razor? She smile/smerked at me and said "I would have no idea?"... I politely requested if she could help me figure out since the box illustration did not clearly show the exact cartridge razors I would need... and she repeated "sorry, I would have no idea?"... then she said "is that all...?" I responded... "well my issue is I don't want to purchase a box of cartridges for $36.95 that don't fit on my razor? She clearly had no interest being couldn't have been any less helpful. Horrible. I let her close the security glass frustrated and disappointed of any lack of customer service. A monkey could have turned a key, let me grab a cartridge box and I would have been more satisfied than the lack of help given. My recourse was to find another similar razor box, not behind the security glass and do my best to see if I could figure out if there was a match. I grabbed another box and still struggled to tell by the box illustration so I opened the box... compared the cartridge on the razor and eureka... it fit my old Gillette Fusion razor. I closed the box and hung it back up without any damage to the package. No harm no foul. I few days later I was back at CVS for a purchase and was pulled aside by an attendant who showed me a video of me opening a box from my previous visit and they said I had damaged a package and did not pay for the $15.00 box... I explained clearly my need to open a box to see if the newer cartridges matched and that I l sealed the box and returned it to the display. They said I had damaged the box and asked to see my receipt for the cartridges... I was SHOCKED... i told them of my horrible experience a new days previous and that it was inexcusable to accuse me of damaging a box that was left in the same condition it was found. And the reason I needed to check another Gillette Fusion 5 product was because their sales prevention assistant was 100% unhelpful. When I explained my dilemma to the two CVS sales assistants they were awful. They said it's not their responsibility to solve such a situation, that while they carry the product they are not knowledgeable about such issues? I went onto Ebay and found the EXACT same Gillette Fusion 5 8 Cartridge package for $19.00 NOT $36.95!!! I am returning the package purchased at CVS and have alerted all my friends and family rot take all their business to Walgreens. Their store manager should be embarrassed. I hope I chose the right CVS. It's the one located at 205 North Michigan Avenue, Chicago, I Wanted to purchase an item that sold for a little over $11.00. When I went to the register I had coupons for 40% off, $3.00 off and 15 cents off. I told the cashier I wanted to use all three coupons. She told me dollar amount was $8.67. (She had only taken off the last two coupons). I explained that she had not taken off the 40% coupon and she became very surly with me and insisted she did. I asked her to call the manager and she kept mumbling under her breath. The manager came up and explained to her that she did not take off the 40% off. I told her I wanted all coupons used. She then told me I should not interfere as I was just a customer. She said she didn't tolerate "lip" from a customer. I asked her name and she pulled it out and spelled out her name one letter at a time - E R I N. The manager did the job satisfactorily but walked away after he had the correct charge. I told Erin I would call corporate and her reply was: "Go ahead, they don't care. They won't bother listening to you." I called corporate and the girl in customer service told me that it would go to the leadership committee. I asked her if I could get a call back from the District Manager and she said that they get so many customer complaints a day that they can't return all the customers' calls. I was shocked. At first I thought she was kidding. I never did get a call back from the District Manager (I did formally request one and she put it in her notes) and it's almost two weeks now. I don't think Erin has a right to treat customers like that. She was in the wrong and should have apologized. The manager who fixed the mistake (Al - a staff manager) simply fixed the mistake and did not get involved either even though he could hear the way Erin was talking to me. I think he was afraid of her. It is very clear that Erin needs special training in dealing in customer service. If she is this unhappy with her job she needs to leave. Otherwise, customers will be forced to go to Walgreens over CVS. read more

I have never seen so many of them in one location. Brand is heavy on online availability. With $5 mascaras, ELF has a new competition. GOOD SELECTIONS -- Impressive individually packaged CVS Brand (GOLD EMBLEM ABOUND) Organic Honey Grahams fulfilled my Mango Float dessert missing ingredient. Yay! Excellent Coffee selections! The 4-Star 1850 PIONEER BLEND may be 40% higher than Target and Walmart, but...you have the convenience to get it here instead of trekking another 15 mins of your life. 5-Star CUSTOMER SERVICE -- no kiosk! I switched to this CVS from the Walgreens located at 641 N Clark. The Walgreens pharmacy got so bad I couldn't take it anymore with the mistakes they made, long wait times, etc. CVS has been the exact opposite experience. There is hardly ever a line at the pharmacy when I go in which is great. This location is also dog friendly which is highly appreciated. When I'm walking the neighborhood I usually have my small dog with me and will take him in if I need to grab something. read more

This is my usual Walgreens and it's always easy to get in and out, clean, well stocked, etc. But I wanted to give a special shout out to a great employee who serious was so nice and helped me out when I was frazzled. So thank you Dan, for being SO easy to talk to and walking me through the store and helping me get what I needed on a day when I was just a little too overwhelmed. I normally get shy if an employee talks to me (I know, I'm 32) and usually mush a bunch of "noI'mokthankyous" to alleviate my social anxiety, but Dan was totally at ease and actually seemed like he wanted to help me instead of sometimes when you get the script from an employee. I was sick and flustered and he really made things better for me. Anyways, thanks Dan, you know what you did and I appreciate you! When this CVS first opened I was very disappointed. I went to this location when it first opened, and I had a bad experience. The staff working there at the time wasn't rude, but they were a bit indifferent to me as a customer. For example, when I went to the checkout they were very robotic. I typically go to another CVS in River North that suits my needs and had much nicer and engaging staff. I much preferred that location. However, I recently when back to this location and I was pleasantly surprised. On my most recent visit I purchased a wedding anniversary card for my parents and a Diet Coke. This time, the staff was much nicer. They greeted me as I entered and were nice and engaging at the check out, but there are still some aspects of this CVS that need improvement. The layout is a bit off. Although it is laid out in the typical isles, the greeting card was section is hidden ok the back wall and it seemed divided up. It would have been much nicer if it the greeting card section was located in one of the isles. While this is not first choice CVS location, clearly things are improving here. read more

I didn't know the store was open until 10 (?) pm until I finally asked a cashier why they closed so early. I had been walking all the way up to Walgreens if after 8 pm until recently. Yes, the hours are posted on the store. But every time I'd swear the posted hours said 10 pm, I'd call and the system would say "the pharmacy is currently closed" and I'd check yelp and it'd say the same. Even as I write this, I am still not quite sure when the store opens or if the store is open later on Saturdays. read more
