When I did go pick up her meds, the staff were unfriendly and seemed annoyed that I'd come to get the meds rather than have them delivered. 2 months ago, they sent her a text that they had planned to deliver her meds that day (not sure why they ignored my request to pick them up) but had only discovered that day that she needed refills, so her delivery would be delayed for 5 days. No apology, no offer of emergency meds to cover her, I guess she was just supposed to keep her blood pressure down with the power of her mind. Last month, again they ignored my request to not have her meds delivered and sent her a text that the delivery was on its way. No one showed up. She called the next day to ask where her meds were and they said they would be delivered the following week. Again, no apology, no emergency meds. I'd had enough and went to another pharmacy to transfer her prescriptions. The new pharmacy called me and said that Akron Health Mart Pharmacy had actually refused to allow the transfer until I called to tell them why. So, I did. She's now with the new pharmacy and we are so glad to be done with these folks. Please, save yourself the headache and go anywhere else.

The pharmacist ignored the facts, became aggressive in tone, and started to manipulate the situation, making me feel like I was in the wrong. To make matters worse, he attempted to downplay the situation by offering me a discount of $25, which seemed like a mere attempt to brush things under the rug. I suspect they initially charged my insurance company a significantly higher amount, likely $500 or more, and the pharmacist seemed more concerned about deflecting the issue than addressing it fairly. His unprofessional behavior, lack of empathy, and failure to communicate properly with me made me lose all trust in this pharmacy. This experience was not only disrespectful but also raised serious concerns about the lack of understanding of basic procedures, including HIPAA regulations. I strongly feel that this pharmacist's actions were inappropriate and unprofessional, and I would recommend avoiding Giant Eagle Pharmacy in the future. We were headed to Pittsburgh and wanted to top off the tank. From my phone's map app it looked close to US 30, like a hypotenuse going north and east. It wasn't. Upon arrival I could see that surprisingly Costco gas was NOT cheaper than most of the stations in the area. We picked up a couple of things, one of which we couldnt find and needed help. As always employees were friendly and helpful. I doubt I return. I probably spent more on gas than I saved.
