Someone always answers the phone during business hours. You can't phone in scripts by number but they make up for that and more by their superior service. Services such as talking to pharmacist directly, free delivery and talking to insurance companies on your behalf The staff is super friendly and they sell great products that are hard to find such as Rosebud Salve. Not cheap Rite Aid crap.

Twice now, I have gone to pick up prescriptions and was asked to pay full price because the medication is "popular." I called my insurance company and learned that Charlesmeade Pharmacy never ran my insurance. The last time I went, I tried to explain that they had not run my insurance, but they insisted that I needed to pay full price. I asked why this had not been communicated to me beforehand, especially since I had spoken with someone on the phone earlier that day. They then attempted to bargain with me to pay less than the original amount they quoted. This seems absolutely wrong--they are refusing to run prescriptions through insurance and are instead negotiating prescription prices.

I accepted the date and time they suggested over the phone. Upon arrival i was questioned as to why i was getting the shots that day. I advised that it was their suggestion of date and time. I was shown a clipboard showing i was the only one scheduled that day and told it was their busiest day of the year. They offered the flu shot then but suggested I reschedule RSV as it takes some 15 minutes or so to prepare . While awaiting the flu shot to be administered i was then advised my Medicare ID was invalid due to a hack of the govt site. I told them it had been accepted at GBMC , by my PCP and my Dermatologist in the past week. I left with no vax administered. I called Medicare and was advised the Card # i had for the past 15 years had not been hacked and was ok. This week they would not fill a script for two blood pressure meds because they don't carry them? These are both readily available and widely prescribed throughout the USA. CVS, Walgreens etc. This script was marked received successfully by the "My Pharmacy" app they recommend for their patients. See photo below. Only upon arrival did they advise they wont fill the scripts. Everyone there is very nice but my experience has caused to me to move to another Pharmacy. Proceed with caution.

Best of all, when I needed to speak to the pharmacist, I was connected almost immediately after speaking to a real person! The gift shop has high-quality items as well as the usual tchotchkes. I really like this place and have transferred all my Rx's to it.

During the last six months the telephone system was screwed up. For each prescription I wanted to refill, I would use the phone to leave the script number and the recording would say it was incorrect and I had to speak with a staff member. It was an annoyance but tolerable. I was going there at least once a month and didn't know until my brother told me the pharmacy had permanently closed the day after I picked up my prescriptions. Why on earth didn't the pharmacist tell me that when I was there. Later I learned a lot of people in the community weren't told of the closing. Pretty low way to thank the people that patronized your establishment.

Hands down the only pharmacy for us. We were crazy to deal with the headaches of mail order…read moremedicines instead of using our community pharmacy! Refills are almost always done within moments of being ordered and the app makes things easy. Forget about the frustrating waiting time and poor service at the chain pharmacy. You can't beat folks seeing your face and knowing who you are, but also knowing to check the names of the others in your family so you can pickup everything at once. Our son has epilepsy and has recently learned to become responsible for ordering his own refills and I couldn't love this team more for being kind and understanding as he navigated this important step to adulthood (forgetting to request timely refills occasionally) He also recently underwent brain surgery and was in the hospital for several weeks. The team asked about his status and were big cheerleaders when he returned home. This is a phenomenal group of people and if you live in this community and aren't taking advantage of having this blessing, you're really missing out!
