Usually, I like the store. But today (8/26/12, at around 5:00 pm) the manager who was an over-weight dark-skinned gentleman; was already arguing with a customer when I got there. They were complaining about how when they bought a pack of cigarettes labeled as $9 and change, they were charged nearly 11. The manager never apologized, despite the fact that the couple had to wait nearly 15 minutes for their refund. I was rung up next to them. There was a sign hanging in front of two different packs of L&M cigarettes. It said they were $9.30 each. When I was handed my receipt, it said I was charged $10.67 each. I came back, and the very helpful cashier got his manager who was fielding a different customer and a different problem. After finishing with them, the manager got behind the register, the problem was explained to him. He said "which ones did you get?" I told him "two packs of L&M 100s." Then he told me that I should know that 100s are going to cost more. So I told him to "just give me the short packs and the price difference, then." Then he scanned the short packs and they were also $10.57. Ignoring the fact that he rudely blamed me for his mistake, he said "these are also $10.57." I said "but the sign says $9.30." THEN HE TOLD ME "of course the sign doesn't necessarily mean that THESE cigarettes are that price. And maybe this starts later" (WHATEVER THAT MEANS!). So, to be sure, I asked "wait, the sign hanging in front of the only two kinds of L&M brand cigarettes that says that they are $9.30 doesn't mean that they are $9.30?" This rude dumb ass looks at me and says "exactly." I said "well, don't you think that's silly?" And he said "no." I could not take any more of this guy's cvs manager logic jedi-mind-tricks, so I interrupted and said "JUST give me the refund." And the helpful cashier came right back and did just that. He apologized and handed me my money. As I'm leaving, the manager is out in front of the self-checkout arguing with another customer. Maybe he was just having a bad day. Or maybe he's just not capable of running that store. Either way, he was very very rude. And I would suggest that if you walk in and see that man, you turn right around, walk across northern blvd, and go to Rite Aid. It was a terrible experience. read more

The pharmacy here is run by pre-med/pharmacy students who are incompetent. Not sure if anyone else saw the 20/20 special on this but many times, pharmacies will hire UNLICENSED pharmacy students to distribute drugs...this leads to a lot of people getting the wrong drug, wrong dosage, wrong instruction. This is exactly what happened to me - I asked the girl at the counter what the drug was for and she blinked at me and said, "shouldn't you know" and then I asked her how the co-pay was going to work. She sighed and said, "well that means i will have to look it up all over again on my computer." HELLO... THAT IS YOUR JOB. Moreover, after she gave me the medicine, she did NOT tell me how and when to take it...which I am pretty sure they are required to do by law. This girl's name is Rokhana (sp?) and should be fired. I would not recommend going to the pharmacy after 5pm when the real pharmacist leaves. read more

CVS Bayside(Bell and Northern) This review is strictly for the pharmacy staff itself on one occasion 6/28/2018 I felt as if I received poor service. I began to feel as though I had really done something wrong. It was then I noticed all staff members behind the counter were Asian or Latino. I was being discriminated against because I'm caucasian. How sad and humiliated I feel. I left the store with a sense of shame and horror. I've been a resident in the Bayside area for 54 years. If this is the treatment I will be receiving as I approach my golden years I'm tempted to not take any medication at all and let nature take its course in the neighborhood I once loved. read more

They have a wide variety of family planning (condoms and "personal massagers") as well as self checkout. Couple that with the fact it's open 24/7 and very clean inside means the birth rate around here should start to level out if not drop slightly... I love coming to this branch.I always get what i need. I have a patient that i get her prescription refilled here everytime and never had any problems, the pharmacist in charge at Night shift (John) is amazing he is very helpful and very knowledgeable. I don't even want to give them a star. I needed to find out about coverage for my infant son's ointment n spoke with the pharmacist n the girl who works there. I understand they r tired n not happy with their job. That doesn't mean they can be rude n unpleasant to patients with medical concern. Absolutely the worst run pharmacy I have ever dealt with. I always dread dealing with the people there. Have dealt with Duane Reade for years but because my new insurance only deals with CVS have been forced to deal with these unprofessional condescending people. They are not even willing to call your insurance company if there is an issue. They make you call from you cell phone while they ignore you and do as little as possible to help resolve the situation. Absolutely no empathy for the patient/customer. They could care less if you are sick or need medication that you have taken daily for 2 years. I had a drug that needed pre-approval, but instead of being told "you need pre-approval", I was told your gender is wrong in our system so the prescription can't be filled. I stated that sounds absurd and they said we can't help you and outright refused to call my insurance. After spending 30 minutes in the store on the phone confirming that all my info was correct with my insurance company I went back to the counter - and was then told "no everything is correct, you just need pre-authorization. All while being spoken down to be a condescending pharmacist. I ALSO WITNESSED THE PHARMACISTS MAKING FUN OF CUSTOMERS WHO HAD COME AND GONE BEFORE I ARRIVED IN FRONT OF OTHER CUSTOMERS. This review is for the pharmacy, not the store itself. Although the store is pretty gross and I e found expired items on the shelves many times. This is the WORST pharmacy in the area. Like, horrible. Like, really really horrible. The staff is totally incompetent. For some reason I continue getting my scripts filled there (I love around the corner) but after the last experience I had I vowed to switch to Rite Aid once and for all. They never fill scripts on time. Like,I'm talking DAYS. My doctor would send over a script on Thursday, and id go on Saturday to pick it up only to hear "oh, we put it on hold" why? I'd ask. "Ummmm I'm not really sure" and this happens ALL THE TIME. A few weeks ago I dropped off a script. They took it. Told me to come back in an hour. I did. Only then they told me it wasn't in stock. They didn't check that when I dropped it off. Who knows why. Sheer laziness, I guess. And then there was the time they sent me home with someone else's prescription. That was a good one. Seriously, I've never given a one star review before. I don't even think I've given a two star review. This place is AWFUL. So so so awful. Im finally done with them. I'd rather walk 4 extra blocks and be treated with even slightly mediocre service than the horror show that is this place. read more

If I could give this CVS no stars I would. This pharmacy used to be great. Kind, courteous and professional staff. Not anymore. I have been calling for several days to get a prescription that was ordered on September 22, 2019. It is October 7, 2019 and I am still at step one. No one, despite several calls to CVS can be a human. Instead of calling my physician they insist on telling me they sent an automated request which my physician who is very efficient and professional has confirmed never received. I have repeatedly asked for a person to call my physician directly and also offered to place him on a conference call. In the meantime I am in need of this medication. The female intern, Kelsie at this CVS is very unprofessional, and lacks any people skills. She was rude beyond measure and then told me that the one person who was actually trying to assist me could not help me more than she can. I will not be using this CVS again. In conclusion, Peter did reach out to my physician and followed through with the insurance company and finally gave me the information needed. He was the hero in this unnecessary situation. This CVS has been our neighborhood store for 15 years. We visit it weekly and have spent over 3000.00 dollars and upwards of that amount. They have hired a new night manager who acts like a sentinel. He is not only rude but makes it his business to argue nonsense and has decided to treat customers as if they are mindless idiots. We have an extra care card and downloaded the CVS app to our phone . We are encouraged to send deals and coupons to the card as it makes it easier to shop for both customers and stores. Michael ( the new leader at this Bayside store location ... Night Manager) ) informed us that even though coupons show on ourCVS app AND we have printed them out in the store, he CAN NOT apply them when they lack a bar scan. He can not override this issue , which is definitely a clitch. He has no tolerance for customers baffled by this clitch and asking for the coupons to be applied that rightfully appear both on phone app account and printed in store. We have no problem switching pharmacies. Walgreens is offering super deals and is equally nearby. King Michael is turning off customers daily. I am amazed that people with absolutely no proper customer service etiquette can land jobs as managers. read more

My emergency goto place, when my local CVS is closed, one of the busiest places I see @ 1am. Staff is helpful when needed. Pretty good with the inventory on item on my items that i need at the time i go in. I see the craziness these employees have to deal with, I think they need a shot of tequila for all difficult customers that they have to deal with. Parking is pretty good since the whole lot is theirs after the other stores close down for the night. read more

One of the busiest pharmacies around because they are 24 hours and never close. I have been to multiple CVS's but this CVS is the one i consider home. The workers always greet me and make me feel welcomed. All of my coworkers there make me feel like family. Every pharmacists here is great but Alex is the best. I look up to Alex as a role model for being such a good pharmacist and more importantly a good man. If he ever does a good job or makes you smile, buy a diet sunkist soda for him. It's his favorite. Being the Pharmacist in charge of this store is definitely no easy task, it takes a lot of help but he is the center of responsibility. Charles and Ben the store managers also work tirelessly to satisfy the customers in the front. Howard David and Emmanuel are my boys at this store always giving me a high 5 and asking how I am. From working behind the counter to fill prescriptions for patients, I can assure you that this is the best pharmacy around. We will take good care of you if you let us. read more

I was in the area and stopped in for the first time. Large store with narrow aisles. When I went there was no cashier only several self checkout lanes. I'm not against self checkout lanes and I use them in other stores but I like to have a choice especially if I have a lot of items or bulky items or coupons. The worst pharmacy known to man. I had gone to pick up 3 medications that the automated system called and told me was ready, the technician came and told me that only 1 was, I proceeded to tell her that this is not only not the first time this happened, but also that she was the one that took was there at least 4 other times that I went to pick up. Then the pharmacist/manager on duty on November 30th at 6:15pm came over and started to speak to us. (Note...there was no name tag to tell us who she was nor would she give her name when asked) In the middle of the conversation, a guy tried to talk to us about the situation to which I applied "no, it's a cvs issue". The pharmacist on duty then proceeded to start yelling at me and telling me that if its a cvs issue then I need to stop talking to him and talk to her, I replied that isn't that what I already said to him? She then completely disregarded what I said to her and yelled " if it's a cvs issue you should be talking to me!!!" I proceeded to yell back at her to now just say that's not the way you talk to people!!! Let me put it to all you yelpers, do u think that is the type of treatment that one should get at a pharmacy??? Completely let down by this place.... Will move all my medication to a different pharmacy. I hope cvs can spot a problem when they see it. read more
