Six months later my doctors office sent a script there in error. I called the 2 current pharmacies I'd been using, neither had the script. Called doc then called Islip Pharmacy. Yes they had it but weren't filling it because I cancelled my account-CLICK. She hung up on me!! I had been waiting 3 or 4 days now for my script the least they could've done was to call me and explain. I asked to speak to the manager she replies 'I am the manager'. Today pharmacist/co-owner Nathan answered the questions that I posed of a medical device that I use and of a few nutritional supplements that I contemplated buying from him. He was a pleasure to talk to. The store associate was helpful, too, asking me if there was anything she could help me with. What I especially like about this pharmacy is that it is open on Sundays although only for four hours. Costco Pharmacy, where I usually get my medications filled, is not open that day. The only negative about New Island Pharmacy is that it is quite small, and parking is tight.

My family has used Vanco for years and I never got around to switching pharmacies until my recent doctor's appointment. I am so happy I switched to Vanco, I walked inside the store, walked back to the pharmacy and picked up my prescription within the same minute. Thanks Mike! Not sure what's going on over there tonight. I was a customer for over 9 years. I received my prescription and it was short by 6. I was with my father and noticed the box was not sealed before we left the parking lot. We immediately went back in to explain and was not only belittled but yelled at about how we were at fault, somehow trying to get over on them by receiving 6 extra, and that I had only been a client for a year? As if that was somehow applicable to the short prescription issue. Like I said, I've been going to Town Drug for almost a decade with little issue and even have proof of this through old prescriptions. Yet, instead of trying to fix the situation amicably, the pharmacist became belligerent and dismissive. The owner Mike has rectified the situation.
