(1) The phone system is broken and you can hear about prescriptions available for refill but cannot actually refill them. (2) Their computer systems have been updated and the pharmacy and main check out staff do not know how to use them. (3) Last month the pharmacist gave me 100 mg pills as opposed to the prescribed 20 mg. I returned the pills and he did not acknowledge the mistake. (4) The pharmacy is closed at odd hours during the day and there is no way to call the store to determine in advance if the pharmacy staff will be there. This CVS is down the street from my house so it's very convenient. It always has what I'm looking for and now that I have a CVS card I have savings that make it worth the visit. I love that they discount seasonal items at 75% because allows me to stock up for the next season. When I walk in I'm always greeted by someone. This is in a large CVS but it is stocked and kept clean. Extra points for the self check out stations. read more

My father has Arthritis and need a specific numbing cream to take away the pain. The rest gives him an allergic reaction. After walking around the store looking for his medicine I decided to ask the pharmacist. I showed her a picture and even before I got to ask anything she yelled aisle 8 all Rudely. This CVS has the WORST pharmacy customer service I've encountered. The experience I recently had should have never happened from a medical professional -- the pharmacist on duty was extremely rude. She cut me off and waived her hand in a dismissive and abrupt manner as I was (calmly, might I add) asking her a question about a prescription and she refused to even hear the remainder of the question. Sadists are more common than most people realize. There are more in certain professions, the medical field is rife with them. The elderly are easiest for them to torture, so they prefer to work in nursing homes and long term care facilities. These types of jobs won't pay the bills or for their expensive degrees though, so they take jobs where the risk of someone noticing their abuse is higher. The pressure builds and builds and that clam gets to be dripping thinking about hurting someone badly--it just can't be ignored forever, and they are skilled enough to hide their perversions so long as they aren't too obvious. An easily explained away mistake or delay in getting you your medication. Don't be fooled, it's how they keep that clam juices going. Just knowing they caused you pain and suffering, until their perverse orgasm floods the break room. It's disgusting. I bet this company is owned by the Saudis. read more

The store here is fine, but the pharmacy has had a tremendous decline in quality in the 3 years I was getting prescriptions sent here. There have been multiple times over the last year when I've been told a medication was unavailable via text/phone but when I inquired in person I was able to get it within a few hours. Most recently, I went there multiple times to try to pick up my birth control, and was told over and over that they needed to order it from the supplier. Finally after weeks of reassuring me that they'd have it soon, they told me it was on back order and they were cancelling the prescription. This should have meant that other pharmacies would also be unable to get it delivered, but when I went to the Walgreens nearby (who also had to order it from the company as they didn't have it in stock), they were able to get the medication to me within days. I also tried to fill a prescription for my pet here, was told that they needed to contact the vet, and then would call me when the prescription was ready. They never called the vet and then waited a week to tell me that they couldn't fill the prescription at all only after I asked about it - the lady on the phone was also extremely rude. I'm assuming it's a change in staff or management that has caused the negligence as I never had issues picking up prescriptions here prior to about a year and a half ago. All that being said, I will be turning to a different pharmacy in the future, and if you want consistent and efficient service, I'd recommend that you look elsewhere. read more

The pharmacy supervisor had no clue about it's internal system. Furthermore, she refused to investigate what you would tell her. She insisted she was 100 percent right which was not a good trait for someone who could affect your mental health with her inaccuracies. She was totally self-righteous. 1st she told me that my medication was held up because Anthem needed the prior authorization, even though I told her it's CVS Caremark the company she works for. I even confirmed with CVS Caremark myself. She had me showed her my insurance card (even though on the card it says CVS is the pharmacy) and insisted it's Anthem. I called Anthem in front of her and even had the Anthem rep telling her it's her own company who is a partner of Anthem, she still refused to investigate and insisted she was right. She showed a number to me from her computer screen print out and said my doctor needed to call Anthem and then call her CVS store back. I decided to call that number from my cell phone myself and it turned out to be CVS internal office. The CVS back office said it was already approved and the store could go ahead and filled the medication. I had to physically hand my cell phone to the pharmacy supervisor and connect her with CVS internal department the company. Afterwords, no apologies were made and no acknowledgment. This is very dangerous when she is put charge of filling medication. read more

I don't really go here much anymore, but I went twice in a week (once for a friend, once for myself) and I think the pharmacists have gotten dumber. They called my friend to tell her that her medication didn't exist. We have the same doctor and she is the best PCP in the world, so she would never make a mistake like that. My friend described what her medication was for, and I knew exactly which medicine she was waiting for. I had to go with her, in person, and argue with the pharmacists until they found it. Of course, they had to order it. Then, I had to go to the best PCP ever. I didn't tell her about the incident with my friend, but I did mention that I hated this CVS. However, I was injured and location wise, it was the best option. I show up to this CVS about an hour after my prescription was electronically sent, and the same three pharmacists swear they haven't received it. I walked (hobbled, due to said injury) out. Three hours later, I get a call saying my prescription is ready. I've been to some awful CVS stores (Skyline with a pharmacy line that stretches to the front end and Landmark that doesn't stock birth control), but I still can't get over how bad this one is. read more

The store is fine. But the pharmacy is a total shit show. I usually have a lot of patience with this sort of thing but every time I use this pharmacy something comes up. Today I came in to pick up my prescription. Although they said it was ready, it wasn't. They told me it would be about 20 mins. Ok cool. A half hour later they call me over and tell me they mixed it wrong and asked if I could come back later. Annoying but fine. So I wait until I get the second "your cvs prescription is ready" text. I come in to pick it up and they tell me my prescription isn't ready yet and that they had to make sure I came in to pick it up before they made it or they would have to trash it. What?! So they tell me to wait another 20 mins for them to mix it. Which makes me irritated that I could have just waited again earlier than waste another trip up here and have to wait all over again! Anyway, my prescription is ready. This better be some good Lidocaine. read more

This CVS isn't the cleanest. Walgreens across the street is much nicer in my opinion. Parking isn't great and multiple people have gotten towed from here as shoppers, so be careful in this location. They've also been out of common supplements several times that I've gone. I've switched to Walgreens. read more

Wow, this is possibly the worst pharmacy I've ever been to. If you require any form of privacy, you will not receive it here. Also, be prepared to check your own prescription's to be sure they are filled correctly. Scary!! The front store staff however, are lovely and helpful. This is a super crappy CVS. First, the parking lot. There is a huge dip to drive into the lot, so GO SLOW so you do not bottom out. Secondly, the store in general - it is DIRTY. Rugs are never cleaned. Glass on doors and windows smudgy. It just feels yucky in there. And lastly, the pharmacist. What a cranky cranky man! He was yelling at the pharmacy tech, who was trying to get his attention to alert him to the fact that 2 customers (one of whom was me) was waiting for him. Instead of actually helping us, he chose to YELL at the assistant, right in front of us. Very awkward... He helped the other customer, then acted liked it would be a huge imposition to have to call my insurance company (which is what the insurance company told me needed to happen...). Eventually I walked out and went to the CVS in the Target on Rt 50 to fill the Rx. The staff there are FRIENDLY and professional. This CVS location needs a make-over and some customer service training. read more

I wanted to update my review. I have been coming to this location because it's close and the staff is always friendly. I've seen a lot of faces come and go, but whenever I run into Abida she is always so sweet and friendly! She's is incredibly helpful and always helps me find the best deal for my buck and is incredibly knowledgeable so check out goes smoothly. I just wanted to give her praise for the help see gives me, whenever I get lucky and she's working! Cesar is always so friendly as well. Makes me laugh! The staff is always so friendly and helpful. The Pharmacy staff is wonderful as well. I'm twenty-three years old and a full-time graduate student. Not only do I do my own classwork, I also teach high level mathematics to undergraduate students. That being said, I'm on a busy schedule and have little time for much else. I went to this CVS for months after moving in the area because of the convenient location and sometimes fairly decent sales, like the buy-one-get-one sale on Ibuprofen last week. Recently, I have had a medical problem that really isn't severe but is just painful and a pain in the ass. I saw professional help and was prescribed medicine. I decided to give this CVS my business. I waited a few hours and went to pick up my medicine. CVS hadn't filled the prescription and was waiting on a call-back from the PA from the doctor's office. The PA - knowingly - wrote me a prescription for a generic drug, mostly to save me from the costly name-brand drug. The CVS pharmacist however wanted to give me the name-brand drug. Hence, there was some confusion between the doctor and the pharmacist. Okay, that was all right I suppose and it was just a pain in the neck to wait another day for my meds. Flash forward two days - my prescription is not filled, the "generic" drug I was given costs $1200. I have two health insurance contracts, one via my school and one via work. My health insurance for work is really, really good but apparently didn't reduce the cost of the drug at all. So, I asked for them to look at my school insurance; the pharmacists told me that my card was invalid (it isn't) and they couldn't service me with that card. So, I called the doctor and she was willing to give me a coupon for the medicine. CVS has stipulations on the coupon and it literally reduced my cost to $1100 for 20 pills instead of $1200. Upset, I called the doctor back and she troubleshooted the issue with me. We circumvented the process by having Loudoun Pharmacy mail me the drugs for $25. CVS (and most other pharmacy companies), the FDA, and the Affordable Care Act are absolutely ridiculous and all in bed with each other. There's no excuse why my antibiotics had to cost $1200 when I have two perfectly valid health insurance contracts. The pharmacists - with the exception of Jason - were absolutely unhelpful and borderline condescending. America's health care system is a joke for hard working people like me. I will NOT give CVS a dime of my money ever again. If I need Advil, I'll go to the Rite Aid down the street or find a Walgreens. If I need medicine, I'll go to Loudoun Pharmacy. CVS can pretend to be in the interests of its consumers by banning cigarette sales, but it still sells a bunch of unhealthy products and tries to gouge its customers. Also: I know of people towed in the parking lot by Advanced Towing. Don't shop here. They don't give a damn about your business but look to steal money from you. Screw CVS and screw Advanced Towing. What I like is the like is the location. However, when I tried to buy two new prescription ointments near closing time but was told they were unavailable. I think the pharmacist appeared to be trying to close shop and did not seem particularly happy or enthusiastic about providing service at the end of the shift. This CVS referred to the Rosslyn CVS as having a much larger inventory but since that was closed this was not an option. What I think could be better is the ability to answer the question of which CVS has the medication if any at all. I think better visibility into the inventory situation would help customers who are trying to make a decision whether to visit or not. There is not a need to carry the medication but rather a need to tell me where to go to get it. Since my question was not answered, it was necessary to get my prescription filled at a non-CVS location.. read more

I really don't have high expectations for a CVS, if you've been in one, you've pretty much been in them all. However, since this location is close to my apartment, I'm here a lot more than I'd care to admit. Another thing that I hate to admit is my obsession with Glade Plug-Ins--legit obsessed. So, one of the many reasons that I frequent this CVS so often is for their awesome assortment of Glade Plug-Ins! Hello, variety! I've also thanked the high heavens for their makeup aisle on a many last minute freak out/where is my eyeliner/who stole my mascara moments. The makeup section offers an array of shades and brands, so there's a little something for everyone. I'm a girl who lives for a fierce beat, so a bountiful makeup aisle is enough of a reason for me to visit this place again and again. One of the other reasons I love this location is because of Margarita! Every time I go in, I look for her and can count on an enthusiastic hello and some words of encouragement. She also has a beautiful singing voice, and you may be lucky enough to be serenaded while she's stocking the shelves. I love this CVS, and the only reason I didn't give 5 stars is due to lengthy checkout lines. Typically, the self checkout is the only way to ring up your items, and that can take awhile if you're behind someone who isn't too familiar with the process. Otherwise, it's ****Flawless. read more

I spent about thirty minutes going through my pictures on my phone cropping and editing to have them printed out. When the screen said that the printer is out of ribbon I alerted an employee for assistance. Without even checking the ribbon problem she said that I should do the one hour photo instead and proceeded to cancel my order before I could answer... THANKS..... Not to mention (I'm assuming the stores manager) has everyone on edge because some inspector is coming and I guess keeping your store up to code is annoying. You could hear them through the entire store just arguing back and forth. I've made the mistake of running into CVS to grab bread or burger / hot dog buns and found none. Maybe CVS generally just doesn't stock them but they have croissants... go figure. read more

I go to this CVS about once a week, and I'm sorry to say that most of the reviews on here are pretty spot on. The good: for a convenience store, they usually have everything that I need when I don't feel like parking in the nearby garage to go to Giant. I'm almost always greeted by a staff member as soon as I walk in the front door, which is great! The bad: this place is usually packed. The parking lot could use some TLC and maybe they could empty that trash can outside every now and then? It also seems like they really don't want their employees checking people out (they always make people use self-checkout). I don't mind using it, but I almost ALWAYS need assistance from an employee during my check out (checking ID, verify a coupon, etc.). It seems that most of those times, an employee is nowhere in sight. Two out of five stars for the crowds and spotty customer service delivery. read more

Very decent cvs. Plenty of parking is a plus around this developing area because parking seems to be hectic. Store is highly organized but not fully stocked. Signs are easy to navigate to find your items. They have 3 self checkout lanes and 1-2 cashiers open so the lines go pretty quickly although it may seem like a long line there. read more

The pharmacy can be a mess, especially when they're busy. I've had to wait for prescriptions I was told were ready and jump through hoops to figure out insurance. In the end though I have finally gotten what I needed, but it's been a challenge. The rest of the store is okay as long as you're there off peak (i.e. commuter time). They can get slammed both at the register and self-checkout kiosks which inevitably get clogged up by people who don't know how to use them. Go in the middle of the day when there's hardly anyone there though and it's not too bad, in fact cleaner than some of the other CVS locations nearby. read more

Recently had to return to this pharmacy for a medication fill after a doctors appt. Though I had not been to this CVS for 3 years and in a time crunch to make it to work on time the staff was so positive and went out of their way to help me in a tight situation. I know from 20 plus years in NO VA, that most CVS locations have their challenges but the particular people at this pharmacy went above and beyond their scope to satisfy my needs. If you are going to operate a business in America, you need to have people that speak ENGLISH dealing with customers. Speak whatever language you want in this country, I enjoy cultural diversity as much as the next bleeding heart liberal, but if you are going to work in customer service you have to speak the freaking language of your clientele. I've NEVER experienced a more unprofessional environment than this CVS. I've been using CVS pharmacies for over 15 years, and I will be moving my prescription to the RiteAid across the street tomorrow and discontinuing my business with this store and all other CVS locations entirely. read more

WORST SERVICE EVER!!! I dropped off a script for my son told the tech I was waiting. After 20 minutes I approached the register and he told me they are still working on it. After another 10 minutes (he noticed I was getting inpatient) he told me they they are still working on it. I asked how much longer and didn't get and answer. Finally after another 10 minutes he lets me know it's ready. Forty minutes for one script and it wasn't even busy. I certainly wil not be going back to that store. read more

Methinks this CVS is by far one of the crummier ones I've been in. Too bad it's close to my house & is better than Rite Aid/Eckert/ one up the street. Dirty inside, dirty outside. Institutional pharmacy waiting area with the storage room door always open. EXPIRED items on the shelves. Seriously. I found 15 first-aid sprays 6 months expired!!!! I told the male manager-on-duty who didn't even acknowledge my concern about safety or efficacy of said product. Nice As for the pharmacy, the main pharmacy tech is rude, impatient & arrogant; she doesn't know a lot about newer meds either. The pharmacists are ok unless you have a legitimate question then, google it dears. Of the Rx's I have filled here, about 45% have to be special ordered and these aren't weird, esoteric, uncommon meds- no, just plain ol' ones. And when they don't have the med you want, the tech has been utterly unhelpful about helping you figure out who MIGHT have it. Just poor customer service. Dirty carpeting & tile. Dirty counters. I can't echo enough the comments of others, particularly Charlotte M. This store is dirty, the employees are rude, and the merchandise all looks like it has been backed over by the delivery truck. All customers are directed to self-checkout (probably a blessing) by an employee who barks orders at the customers as if they were cattle. But let's talk about the pharmacy. I recently had the doctor call in a prescription to this store, and when I arrived to pick it up, they didn't have it in stock. The guy behind the counter told me they would order it and call me in 24 hours. I had no documentation with me so they must have received the prescription. You'll be shocked to learn that I never heard from them again, so FIVE days later I called to check on the order, and the rude, impatient tech (who kept interrupting me) claimed that my prescription was not in the system. She told me they could order it and have it in 24 hours (sound familiar?), and when I asked what to do in another five days when they again had no record of their order, she put the rude, impatient pharmacist on the phone, who also kept interrupting me. She also claimed that I was not in the system, and accused me of having the wrong store (my own skill in correctly reading an address aside, I was holding the business card the other pharmacist had given me while I talked to her). There was no solution suggested: I guess I was supposed to conclude that my doctor would have to call it in again. I told her I'd have my doctor call it in to another pharmacy, and hung up. This store is utterly beneath contempt. While I used to be okay with grabbing a quick essential there since it was the closest one to my home, from now on I won't buy so much as a roll of toilet paper from this dump. read more
