This makes Wali Minimart perfect for anyone staying at one of the many hotels in the area. Located directly across the street from Wali Minimart - State Road 436 - are hotels that include The Ramada, Hampton Inn, Towneplace Suites by Marriott, Springhill Suites by Marriott, and the Residence Inn. The Opal Hotel is located on the same side of the street as Wali Minimart, right around the corner. Anyone in need of these items will find them at a much more affordable price than buying them at the hotel's convenience stores. They carry the same exact products, too, but more a much more affordable price. Wali Minimart also sells a variety of chips, snacks, ice cream, candy, pastries, soda, energy drinks, tea, juices, water, and more. The staff have always been extremely helpful, respectful, and friendly to me. I have stopped by many times over the years. I believe that the owners name is Z - I hope I got his name right. He deserves to be recognized for his hard work and dedication to his small business. The store opens early in the morning - 6:00 AM. It closes pretty late - 11:00 PM. He advised me that they had purposefully set this up so that the pumps will not work to take payment so that people have to come inside so they can make more sales. I'll be avoiding this one from now on because when I'm in a hurry, I don't need to be standing in line behind people buying lottery tickets.

Today (3/10/22) they are installing brand new gas pumps. I used to come here on a near daily basis. They used to hold on to their employees really well and I could say to them by name and they would ask how things were going if they hadn't seen me in a while. It was nice to be noticed and missed, ngl. But, something has changed in the last 6-8 months and there has been a lot of turnover. This led to some problems. For example: The soda & ice machines weren't getting cleaned properly and that black gooey mold was coming out with the ice and there was some gross build up around the hole where the ice comes out. (Needless to say, I owe a thank you to them for kicking my soda habit. I'm a silver linings kind of gal, haha.) In all honesty that was a scary gross health hazard and I'm glad it has now been resolved. There is still a lot of turnover with employees so I am concerned these issues could get neglected again. Not sure what has caused the extreme turnover but glad things started moving in a positive direction again as far as cleanliness. I'm obviously not coming in daily anymore, but I'm hopeful to continue to see improvement. There has been some remodeling inside the store, and like I mentioned above, they are putting in new pumps today. They have cold beer to grab for your cooler for a beach day. They have lots of snacks. Need to air up your tires? I think it's $1.50 and the machine takes credit card because who has that many quarters on hand. Lol. Basically, despite the downhill turn this location was taking, they've now been turning things around in the right direction. I hope they can get back to normal soon and also maintain it....and I feel hopeful they will. Hence 3 stars. Once some time has passed and if they achieve this I'll update my review.

However, this particular day, I remembered that it was here when thinking about where to stop for gas. We pulled up to the pump and I used the app to conveniently activate the pump and pay for gas. One of the reasons I'll stop at a Wawa is because of this convenient feature. We didn't go inside, however, I imagine that it is not much different from the one down the road from it...or any other one. Getting out of the drive back onto 436 can be a challenge as oncoming traffic can be difficult to gauge. Hopefully, drivers will let you out while they are waiting for the red light.

She assured me I was calling the wrong store as the person there said no one had come in today. Again I told her yesterday and as impossible as it sounds that took a third telling! She still insisted I was calling wrong store as there were 3 in Altamonte. I told her the one on corner of Maitland Ave and 436. She spouted her address and followed up there were 3 stores. I pointed out only one was at the corner of ... to which she assured me there was one by the freeway and one .... So I asked her on what corner was HER WALGREENS. We're by First Watch and Chipotle. WILL SOMEONE PLEASE TELL THE GIRL WHERE SHE WORKS?! I calmly explained I'm looking for a solution to this problem. She informed me this happens sometimes. So....what do you do to fix it? We just give them there money back if they come in. To say this encounter was dense is an understatement. This employee did not listen. The ones in between that I spoke too gave explanations as to why it happened or they just could not see how it happened but the problem remained. Employees appear untrained and unsupervised and this issue not restricted to photo dept. I will give them that most try. They just don't have a clue.

No one greets the customers nor tell them they will be with you momentairly. This is the 2nd incident where I had to wait while the employees walk around the store. Pablo was extremely rude and I was informed by another customer his wife had to report him to corporate. I also will Be reporting him to Corporate. When I came to the register, Pablo stood in front of me playing on his phone. He did not acknowledge that I was standing with my items in my buggy. When I left and came back from getting my card out my car he was in photography assisting customers. Again, me and the other customer waited. I called for help Afterwards, Plabo yelled to me. "You can wait!" Very loudly and rudly! I informed him everytime I come in this store I'm always waiting more than 5minutes. He kept yelling at me until another employee came to assist. He looked as if he was coming to put his hands on me and I felt threatened. Had it not been for the other employee I'm not sure what could have happened.

This little convenience store is in the strip plaza in front of the San Sebastian neighborhood. My sister moved in to the original. We have spent most of our lives in San Sebastian and on the SAME street. I'm telling you all of that because this store has always been a staple in mine and my family's life, so-to-speak, and we are "regulars". Even through the changing of owners, all of them have been wonderful and courteous. If you total is $5.25 & you don't have the 25 cents on you, you can bring it by later or the next day. They will order a specific product (they did this for me on a specific brand of import beer back before I got sober) and they usually have the same deals on soda that other bigger chains have. Plus they also make boiled peanuts (but only the cajun ) and have an icecream freezer with different icecream bars. They also sell different CBD products and herbal products and cigarettes you can't find at the larger chains that are cheaper. The popular brands can SOMETIMES be a bit more expensive but they honor coupons from those vendors and they don't charge you a fee or a minimum to use credit/debit over cash. I live this little store and hope it's there a long time. They are open until 8pm but close early at 6pm on Sundays.
