Store never opens on time -- 10+ minutes late two days in a row, not the first time this has happened. Manager blames cashier and hangs up on customers who ask about it. Frustrating when you are trying to get to work and expecting to get what you need. read more

Consumer Value Stores! Eh! This CVS on Broadway ain't too bad. It's kinda backwards from the other stores, with parking in the rear, and the main entrance back there too. It's got nearly everything you need up in here, with a healthy markup over the grocery store. But they were happy to help with some returns that I had. They were fast and pleasant throughout the entire transaction. The shelves weren't exactly full when I went, but the store was clean and well organized. They seemed to be out of a lot of things in certain categories, but who isn't right now? When I used their drive thru for Covid testing, they did a speedy job of getting the swab up my nose and my results took 3 days to come back. The biggest mess in Texas. Always awful. A pharmacy that has posted hours 8-9 but is closed at lunch. Apparently their lunch is more important than their customers' lunches, which is really just staffing issues caused by CVS' failure to attract staff. No cashiers. Only machines. You can't do much about one of the world's worst companies, especially when your health plan forces you to get prescriptions there. But, I have a rule. This is my go-to CVS Pharmacy! It is conveniently located across from Central Market on Broadway. They have a drive thru pharmacy, as well as plenty of parking space in the back. This location is more of a mini market/pharmacy. They have everything you need from beauty items, school supplies, a few grocery items and alcoholic beverages (wine and beer). With the current situation (covid-19) and the long lines at the supermarkets, CVS is definitely the place to go for just a few grocery items. Unfortunately if what you are looking for is TP, you will definitely not find it here (sorry guys!). The staff at this location is always super helpful. There hasn't been a single time we've visited and someone isn't trying to help us find what we need. read more

The pharmacy drive thru line is ALWAYS terribly slow. Doesn't matter the time of day. Always about a 30 minute wait.

I love this CVS! It's right across from work so I can easily pick up my prescriptions and any items I need during my lunch or take my time browsing the aisles buying things I probably don't need. The staff is always friendly and ready to help. The store is well organized and very clean. I've noticed that this CVS carries a lot of skin care products that are hard to find at other stores like Walmart, Target, or even HEB. The pharmacy staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. I will say that it seems that I don't see the same pharmacist twice. Granted I only go for my refills once every few months. Also, the pharmacists are young but always willing to answer questions you might have. They will call or text you to notify you of any issues with your Rx. read more

I have had to go to this Pharmacy a fire times to pick up prescriptions with my girlfriend since this is her Pharmacy. Each time, we are in line for 15-20+ mins and we are only the first or second car in line. I would tell her all the time to change to HEB pharmacy because they are fast and nice. I had to come here today because my insurance said I had to get my refills of a certain prescription at cvs. So I came here and the pharmacist started with a bad attitude and then told me he had "I had to get to everyone". There were no customers in line until I got there and the only reason why the line filled up is because it took them so long to even get to me. Then you talk to me like you are frustrated! I even told him that I am frustrated because I'm just trying to get my prescription filled and I'm sorry you seem frustrated that you are busy but I also work somewhere that gets busy but I try to help the person in front of me. I wish I could tell everyone how nice other pharmacies are so they don't come here. Go to HEB! They are nice and will help you with any questions and will be very prompt. read more

Pharmacy very understaffed. Live very far away went to get a prescription and was told it would take hours to fill. Medication is in a box they literally just had to walk back and pick it up but instead insisted that I had to make another trip out hours later so they would have enough time to walk back and pick up the single box. DO NOT use their passport photo services at CVS! Everyone was extremely nice but the trouble and money I wasted getting photos here was so crazy! The first guy who did them had to get 3 or 4 different photos, because he said the background wasn't quite right. He finally got a print he said would work, and they were rejected at the post office. I paid $15-$16. He told me to just come back if they didn't work but I wish he had told me how important the receipt AND the photo were to get them redone free of charge but I get it. The next time I went in I paid in full for another set, and those too were rejected after being reassured that they had been done correctly. This time I kept my receipt and photo. I went back a THIRD time to try and get my $32 back and they would only refund me for one photo service, and store credit at that! It just seems to me that if you are going to take money to provide a service, you should be able to confidently deliver that service! It felt like a total crap shoot "Pay for the service, then go see if it even worked or not! Come back and pay full price if you want a chance to play again!" I paid for TWO photo services, went to the store three times, and got 0 photos for my passport. Ended up having to pay again with a different photo service to finally get them. $45 later I had what I needed for something that should only cost $15! read more

I went to check in and rather than being attentive to their customers the pharmacist and the tech had a full blown conversation on how the pharmacist signed up for a 10k and how she wasn't ready. This conversation went on for more than 15min and it wasn't until I said something the tech rolled her eyes and finally decided to check me in. read more

I initially walked into this store to print some photos. Now, I will say that I walked in with every intention of having to spend a lengthy amount of time there because I knew I had to scroll through all of the photos in my phone to find the right ones that I like. I had trouble with one of the computers and one of the workers told me to use another one. After about an hour of sitting at the photo area and printing my receipt for my print job, my pictures didn't print. I processed to ask the manager about my pictures and he said they wouldn't print because I was on the wrong computer. He said that I had to start all over and choose another option on the monitor to be able to print my photos. I was very upset because I feel like the initial employee who helped me should have known that. To make matters worse, the manager proceeds to tell the employee in front of me what she should have done. This frustrated me as I thought that this should have already be communicated and not done in front of the customer (me). I did feel bad because the employee did not know what she was supposed to do, but at the same time that is the leaders responsibility. I was more mad that I had wasted so much time trying to print pictures. I feel like they should train their employees better and to be more mindful of people's time. Great customers service could have prevented this situation. I was turned off by this situation. read more

I've had no problem with the pharmacy at THIS store. My problem with the store generally is they are priced like they're located in Dubai. I paid over $6 for 3 ounces of castor oil, not even a brand name. On several cosmetic items they're $3-4 higher than Walgreens or even HEB. My husband and I walk everyday early in the morning in the neighborhood of Alamo Heights and have noticed on several occasions that there is a significant amount of trash on the landscaping in front and on the side of this store on Burr Road. I feel like a store's appearance is very important and as an employee of this store, I would want my store to shine! Please pick up the trash around your premises at least daily and police the property for trash often. I know that it is not your trash, but it is your problem when a store is judged by its cover and litter is a nuisance. I am sure that it is from passersby and from the street on Broadway, but I feel it is the stores responsibility to take care of this. I would be a shopper there if it had an cleaner exterior. The pharmacists have shown their inexperience more than once, leaving me in doubt. Most recently the pharmacist decided that the prescription our pediatrician gave us was not the correct dosage. He would not fill the prescription until he verified with the doctor's office, which was closed for the day. We have done our research and due diligence in selecting our pediatrician. We have full confidence in our pediatrician and the treatment provided. The following day, the pediatrician verified the dosage was correct for the weight of our child. The doctor said she would be happy to contact the pharmacist to explain the prescription, but considering the delay this caused (and it's not the first time he has protested the accuracy of a prescription we've tried to fill), we have decided to select a different pharmacy altogether. read more

My granddaughter went into CVS #10579, 4600 Broadway, in San Antonio, Texas. While picking up a few things, she had to use the bathroom. We had walked several blocks to get there. She was told by a female cashier working Aug 9th at 5:45 pm that the store had no bathroom. It was an emergency for her & she had to run back by herself putting herself in danger. I found out that there is a bathroom. I think the female employee with short hair working at this time needs training. If that is CVS' policy, then they need to take responsibility. Fairly new to the neighborhood, this CVS location stocks the usual pharmacy items plus other personal, seasonal, and health care needs. I've had a wonderful time using their Photo printer, but it's their pharmacy service I give 5 stars for. My insurance was messed up (changing to Medicare, end of the year etc.). Andrew the pharmacist took the time and trouble to run my prescription again AFTER I left the store and called me at home to say he had been able to bring the price down half. That wasn't what I needed - it was ultimately a $2 prescription - but it wasn't CVS' fault the insurance was screwed up. Andrew's kind attention to this matter was both reassuring and helpful. read more

My husband bought an item that was wrong. I had some things I needed to get, so I took that wrong item back for credit. Because my husband had paid with his credit card and my card is a different number, they wouldn't take it back. "I'm buying stuff, I just need store credit," I told the cashier. She said she had to ask her manager, who looked up from the next register and just said, "No." I couldn't believe it. Their item. A valid receipt. I was trading merchandise. "Sorry," she says.
