But, I think I've kept this awesome Burlington trail a secret for long enough. Let me start by saying that there is a park area with a playground and covered shelter and grill that looks nice and clean! On our most recent visit, there was a big cookout going on, and all of the parking spaces in the small lot were full. Don't be concerned if that's the case when you arrive ... there's plenty of street parking available in the surrounding neighborhood. And - even if the play area is full of people, we've never seen another person on the actual trail beneath the park. This trail is not for hiking amateurs. You can except a VERY steep climb back uphill at the end of your visit. There is a side path that's a little less steep - but it's very rocky with lots of switchbacks. I definitely recommend this trail for more experienced hikers. If you are a beginner and still want to check it out, just be sure you know what you're getting into. It's definitely worth the climb! My husband and I often bring our dogs for a quick spin around this trail, on both weekday and weekend mornings. When you get down to the actual river, there's plenty of wildlife to check out. Most recently, we enjoyed the blooming Honeysuckle plants, but steered clear of a few snakes in the water. Be sure to watch where you step. Check out Gunpowder Creek the next time you're looking for a unique nature hike with a bit of a challenge. You won't be disappointed.

Dog Park Review! They recently just opened up the new dog park. It's about 1/2 mile past the park…read moreon the same side of the road. It has 8 large fenced in fields for the dogs to run in. There are water stations, waste bag stations, and trash cans in all of the fields. They have shaded areas with picnic tables in each of the fields but it didn't look like there were any trees in the whole dog park. Great place to take your dog(s) and let them run around.

I have passed by it a number times, but today was the first opportunity to stop. Oakbrook is a small park that offers it's citizens various amenities. There is a playground, sand volleyball court, (net still intact,) lending library, green spaces and chalkboard. The play structure offers some high points. At the time of my visit, the lending library was a mix of young children's books and romance novels. If you are planning a visit, bring a book to donate. The grounds appeared to be well kept. Someone was there tending to them during the visit. A private parking lot is just before the chalkboard and lending library. Not a destination park, but perfect as a community park for residents.

They have a nice big playground they have a walking path trail they have a bunch of different hills and things you can roll down and play and kids have just a great time overall. This park is far too small to be nestled inside of an increasingly large community near a high school. If there's good weather, cars will be lined out on the street to find a place to park (there's maybe 15 spots here). I do enjoy coming and walking my dog on the little loop trail they have, but be prepared to do your business and go. People come here and get up to all sorts of shady business to the point where Florence PD had to install cameras to monitor the place.

It is pretty short of a trail it does have a small little creek and unfortunately a lot of the people that have height is truly not take care of it very well because they through Chick-fil-A cups and different wrappers and things on the trail so it was a short little walk is not one that I'll check out again
