As first-time buyers we were unsure what to expect, particularly with the additional complications of buying a property on leased land, but Dana and her entire team at CV Escrow made the process as transparent and seamless as humanly possible. In our case we faced hurdles particular to the property, to the sandwich lease associated with the land, and complicated by the California home insurance crisis that caused the escrow to be extended beyond the initial scheduled close. Also, owing to our inexperience, we repeatedly found that we had questions about how to handle different issues, about what we should expect, or simply about whether we should be worried about one thing or another. Though we must have called or emailed a dozen or more times, in every case we received a prompt, courteous, and professional reply. For every question we received either an immediate reply or a promise to find an answer along with a follow-up call delivering on the promise. Our newbie questions were met with thoughtful, helpful attitudes and answers in every instance. First-time home buyer here. Last time working with CV Escrow. What a dumpster fire. AVOID CV ESCROW Working with CV Escrow, specifically Julie Ekstrom and Araceli Blanco, has been a horrible experience. They have no business handling funds. It's nearly 2 months after we closed and I am still fighting them to reclaim escrow funds that they refunded to the seller instead of to me. To be clear, this was not accidental. This was negligence. I sent them the proper accounting several times, as well as receipts/canceled checks to prove that I had paid the items direct. And yet they still kept my money and then sent it to the seller. I'm still trying to recoup that now from the seller. CV Escrow is not helping. When she actually replies, Julie is wonderful. She seems to know her stuff, but is a terrible communicator, both with response time and with actual information given.  I told her from the start that this was my first time and she said she would help me through the process, but instead I've had to beg for status updates.  Araceli generally replies in a timely manner, but lacks attention to detail. She made crucial errors in correspondence with the lender (misspelling the buyer's name for the title, and then an incorrect date) which resulted in 2 failed notary signings. I would say BEWARE, but really you should AVOID. There are other escrow companies in Coachella Valley. Save yourself the frustration and choose ANY OTHER ESCROW COMPANY besides CV Escrow. read more
