Had my hair colored today by Vanessa at Melanie's Cutting Edge. NOT a good experience! This woman is not only pretentious, she's downright rude! Had an appointment set and when I got there, I had to wait over a half an hour for her to get to me. FINALLY got in the chair and pretty much the whole time I was there she completely ignored me. Spent the entire appointment talking to the people standing around the chair next to hers, even though they were all ignoring her. So rude. While I was waiting for my hair to process, she turned her back to me and started styling her own hair. The rest of the time her and the stylist next to her were bantering back and forth like petty teenagers. Not a pleasant atmosphere at all. When my hair was done, it was ok, but nowhere near what I had asked for and she left color all over my forehead. Then when I go to checkout, she tells me the total and asks me how much I wanted to tip because it's included in the cost. Yeah......I don't think so. I've always tipped my stylist, but I have NEVER had a stylist TELL me to include her tip. Needless to say, I will be finding a better and more professional salon. read more

I go to Lola at Cutting Edge. My hair is short and Lola gives a great Pixie cut - all with scissors - no electric razor. I do not use other services so I can only speak for Lola, and I think she is great. read more

You want to see Lola here if you have theatrical colored hair. She does great work with my very long blue hair, helps keep it in good shape while still being bright. It can be difficult to get an appointment so plan in advance. read more

I have been in Winter Haven almost 2 years and couldn't find anyone who could do my hair to my satisfaction. Then I found Lola. She is awesome. She listened to what I needed for my very fine hair. I left with an amazing haircut and a new friend. I have seen some bad reviews from years ago. I don't know what that is about but I can tell you that I had great service and very reasonably priced. Little did I realize I paid $160 for my hair to come out Orange and for it to be destroyed burnt fried I returned to the salon three times to have another hairdresser cut as much as my hair off as possible to get it to look healthy I would not recommend going there the prices are way overpriced the girl said she put two colors in my hair I don't know what kind of color she put in my hair but I never seen a color except orange Rusty orange and I wanted blonde with low light. When I walked in the owner wouldn't even acknowledge me didn't offer to give me any of my money back so maybe I could go somewhere else to get my hair fixed and had to pay to have it cut read more

This review is for my fiancé (who does not have Yelp). He has been trying to find someone for quite a while. He has tried barbers and stylists and every time he comes home he is unhappy. He gets scissors on top blended into a high razor number. I would guess an 8. Anywho, stylists never cut is short enough and barbers cut it too short. He went and saw Melanie and it is the best haircut I have seen him come home with! Blended very well with a clean neck. Thanks Melanie! He is very happy and will be back :) read more

I'm so glad I found cutting edge a few years ago and have not went anywhere else since. Melanie is not just a cosmetologist she is a hair artist! She goes over and beyond to make my hair look good. There is a very friendly hometown feel to the place and everyone is a delight. The first time I went I had a really good experience. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The second time I went the stylist was rude and unpleasant. The hair cut was ok but not what I asked for and I was so tired of asking her to fix it and again really didnt like her attitude so I just conceded. I will probably go back because it's reasonably priced and I had a good experience the first time but I will never let that same stylist cut my hair. read more

My stylist Jennifer was the bomb. Seriously, I called ahead by merely 5 minutes and she was ready to go when I got there. Jennifer was very professional yet personable. The salon itself has a dainty little country chic look to it- very cute!! Jennifer used quality shampoo and conditioner on me and gave me an awesome scalp massage as well. I didn't even have to ask her for the massage! She was speedy yet accurate when cutting my straight, chin-length bob. I am VERY particular about my hair but typically I don't speak up when I feel the stylist is not doing exactly what I wanted. Jennifer made me feel comfortable enough to tell her exactly how I wanted it cut and she followed through. For my hair to be cut, washed, dried, and straightened, it was only $35. This girl knows what she is doing!! Please just give this salon a chance. I am SO glad I stumbled upon Cutting Edge. Honestly, I don't plan on getting my hair cut anywhere else again. read more

Dont go here. Very unprofessional with cursing in the shop. My hair is fried. I had long hair and now after getting a wave in my hair is so fried. Very disappointing,. They talk to much to each other and don't pay enough attention to the customer cursing is very unprofessional and they used the F word alot. . I will never return.
