I want to say that I really like the owner Savia. One of the best business owners I have ever met so it does pain me a bit to leave this review, but I am adding an extra star just for Savia.
I did a full remodel of my home down to the drywall (full bathrooms, floors, baseboards and trim, kitchen, laundry, everything) and in the end everything turned out fine except for the stone work in the kitchen. It has been over half a year since the installation and it bothers me every day.
I found the most amazing looking quartzite at Cutting Edge (CE) and stretched my budget to make it work, because I just loved the stone. I was told by the CE crew that if I got rid of my wrap around bar and just made it a straight bar, I could get the stone installed with no seams. I paid my contractors to remove the wrap around bar only to be then told by CE crew that they actually measured wrong and I will need one seam in the middle of the sink. Okay fine.
Stone counters were installed and it turned out that the counters were measured wrong and did not cover part of a wall, so there was about 1.5" of wall extending out from under the counter in one place. My contractors cut back and fixed the wall and Savia reimbursed me for this.
What really upset me was that I was supposed to have a beautiful high backsplash running along the length of the kitchen counter from this stone and it was also supposed to be seamless. Well, the CE crew told me they measured the stone wrong again and there was going to be one seam on one side of the oven. Okay fine. At some point, they told me the measurement was wrong again and now I was going to have the backsplash installed in three pieces (two seams, one on each side of the oven). Of course I was incredibly upset, but there is no more of this stone, so it is not like they can just order more and cut a new stone.
I was going to have my guest bath and laundry counters made of discounted remnants, but Savia allowed me to use the remnants from my stone for the guest bath and laundry counters instead to make up for this multiple seam issue. Okay fine.
I thought I would stop noticing the three seams that were not supposed to be there, but I cannot stop seeing them. I spent a lot of money on my full remodel and everything looks stunning in my place, except the stone, which just really bothers me. Such a gorgeous stone wasted.
I hope this does not happen often, but I find that hard to believe since they made five mistakes (made me get rid of wrap around bar, cut the counter to short revealing exposed wall, and three seams that were not supposed to be there) on just my project.
Again, Savia is amazing and a pleasure to work with, but unfortunately, working with Cutting Edge is my only major regret for the entire remodeling project. read more
