I have been coming here off and on for YEARS. I no longer live in Sonoma County, but I drive from Marin County to have my hair done by Sue every few weeks. I get so many compliments on my hair (I change colors a lot) and was even able to snag a new customer for her while I was shopping in Rohnert Park because a lady saw me in a store and raved about my hair! A good friend of mine also had her hair done by Sue because she loves the work shes done on my hair and we even brought her youngest daughter in to get red tips on her hair also. 90% of the time I just go in and tell Sue to "surprise me" with a color or several colors and I've never been disappointed. I love this spot! I can never go back to $80 haircuts after coming here. I've always felt annoyed by how expensive women's haircuts are, and with Cuts Etc I avoid all that nonsense. I have been to many hair cut places in my days and this is by far the best place I have been too. I like it even more than those large chain salons like Supercuts. I have gone every month to get my hair cut and gone to the same exact hair stylist. She does a fantastic job on my hair, always perfectly blended and listens to what I want and how I want my hair to be cut. Places like Supercuts always seem to have stylists that cut your hair the way they want it or they way they think it should be. Not at Cuts Etc., all of the stylists are professional, friendly, and do a great job. I am not sure were these bad experiences are coming from exactly. It doesn't sound like the same Cuts Etc. I have always gone too. I love the staff, always friendly and greet you in the door when you first walk in with a nice hello and a smile. For a small mom and pop establishment that kind of service can set you aside from all the big major salons. It is definitely a step in the right direction when it comes to customer service. I love this establishment because it is close to my house and easy for me to get to. Also, the price I spend on a hair cut and a beard trim would come out to be less than if I had the same service provided at Supercuts. Yah, not great. I love supporting small businesses, and I hadn't yet found a hair place I like in Rohnert Park, so I decided to give this place a try, especially with the deals they have. The woman who cut my hair was unpleasant and difficult to talk with. The haircut itself was pretty shoddy. As she sprayed my hair with her water bottle, she also sprayed my face. A lot. I came to this salon to get a perm. I arrived at Cuts Etc and was seated immediately without asking to see any pictures to get an idea of what I wanted. The hairstylist's name was Sue. She used curling rods instead of piggybacking which is the proper method. She charged me $175 not including tip because of the length of my hair supposedly. I feel completely ripped off and taken advantage of. Maybe perms just aren't her thing but DO NOT COME HERE FOR A PERM!!!! Or just have another stylist do it. read more

If it was possible to give zero stars, I would. I went in to get a shampoo and a haircut. If you don't mind having your ears continually scratched by her nails while she is washing your hair or having hot water dumped down your back because she hasn't mastered the fine art of shampooing, by all means, this place may be your shining star. I personally did not enjoy having my shirt blow-dried rather than my hair. She spent a good ten minutes trying to surreptitiously blowdry my shirt - when I arrived home five minutes later, it was still sopping wet. And now so was the seat cover in my car. She paid no attention when I was telling her what I wanted: shoulder length, with layers and bangs. I got shoulder length and had to remind her about the layers and bangs. Will NEVER go back there. The only nice thing I have to say about this entire experience was that the shampoo smelled really good. read more

Rude, Unfriendly, Unprofessional Service, Etc. Cuts Etc. is one of the worst hair salons in Sonoma County, CA. The women who work there are some of the most miserable, depressed, and unattractive people that I've ever seen in this type of setting. It's apparent that they hate their jobs and wish they had chosen better careers for themselves (like working in a toll booth). More importantly however, these women are very unskilled and unprofessional when it comes to cutting and styling a person's hair. Recently I went there to get my hair trimmed and it was an awful experience. I showed the woman who was cutting my hair a picture of how I wanted it to be cut. It was very simple. A short trim around my ears and the back of my head. But instead of listening and obeying my request she cut way more off than I had told her to cut. My hair became a mess! When I started to complain the woman became defensive and told me that I was a poor communicator and that it was my fault that my hair didn't turn out right. I was outraged! I obviously wouldn't recommend this salon to anyone! Save your time, energy, money, and hair by going someplace where the staff are friendly and skilled. read more

I got attitude when I walked in and asked about availability for a walk-in haircut. When I sat down and showed the woman the picture she said, "Dark picture but yeah." I don't know if she actually even looked at the cut because what I got wasn't even remotely close. She told me she couldn't make it look that way because "my hair is too fine." I've never had fine hair in my life, as it is naturally curly/wavy and has a lot of body to it. I told her I wanted shorter sideswept bangs that went to around my eyes. She chopped my bangs, and they look fine, but she also chopped that same bang-length around my whole head, leaving this "puff" of hair layering around my crown. When I asked her about it, she said, "Well yeah I have to blend it." Scared she would continue hacking away at me, I finally just said fine, paid her, and left. Needless to say, you're better off cutting your own hair than going here. read more

Usually one is my favorite and I always ask for her, but I've learned to trust that anyone the owner hires is gonna do ok for my needs. Wide range of skills. At different times I've had them keep my hair high and tight, and also longer styling with coloring. Everything's been fine. Ethnically diverse shop, which I like, but each to their own. Economical and conveniently located. Appointments or walk-ins. Not being a hair savant, I wouldn't know how to compare it with other places. read more
