What I needed was nowhere to be found. Jan at R&J Cabinetry came to my rescue. They offer many options and pricepoints and this quaint owner operator cabinetry store was able to find exactly what I needed. Jan was meticulous with details that were important to me. When she wasn't sure she would contact her cabinet representative to confirm exactly what was available for me. The whole process took less than a week. Jan was very responsive via text, phone and follow up. We haven't completed our project yet but have ordered our custom cabinet (which was also a reasonable price). Once we complete the project I will upload pictures. For now I have the visual rendering Jan provided which I can't seem to upload. The measurements were a special and non standard size. We sat together in her showroom, designing my kitchen and picking elements that were important to me. Jan helped me avoid mistakes with her many years of experience of what does and doesn't work in a kitchen. She is extremely knowledgeable and has a keen attention to detail. Jan is also committed to everything being right. She came back to my house to meet with my installer, to ensure he fully understood the kitchen design. She responds to emails and calls quickly, and is patient in answering questions. When one of our cabinet doors didn't look perfect, she replaced it. They wasted 3 weeks of our time as we waited patiently. They clearly kept stringing us along with "we would have it in a couple days".. So much for wanting to support our local companies. I would NOT recommend them as they just give a lot of lip service and we feel perhaps they were more interested in larger jobs, just wish they would have told us this 3 weeks ago.

I originally hired Josh years ago for a very small job which he humbly accepted in between his other large jobs (in hindsight he was far overqualified). I knew he would be our person for any future projects. When it came time for cabinetry for our basement finish, I knew Josh was who we would use. To cover my bases, I explored a couple other quotes. Here's the nutshell on that. While Josh's pricing was at first glance (slightly) on the higher side than other quotes, the value easily exceeded the other quotes we got. One was slightly less but the cabinets would have to be painted after install (they didn't provide painting) whereas Josh follows best practices and all cabinets were expertly painted prior to install. Josh is also able to do just about anything you can dream of. We did a custom wardrobe-style storage closet with paneling to match an adjacent wall and the work he did seamlessly integrates with the work of our basement carpenter. Moreover, when some things went south with our project and we had to have the floors redone, Josh really saved us. We no longer trusted our original carpenter and Josh helped fix trim work that had been damaged in the floor debacle process. As you can see, I really can't say enough good things about Josh and his skills. The bonus to all of this is he is a kind, genuine person who is genuinely wonderful to be around. Don't be surprised if it feels as comfortable having him in your home as it does a long-time friend. Show Josh respect and kindness and he will return it tenfold and more.

We wanted to make our basement more cozy and requested some quotes from contractors. After realizes most items I wanted were wood pieces I decided to contact Adams cabinetry. Steve came out, gave me his opinions on things and went home and hand sketched my vision on paper. Not only that but his quote was fantastic. These are custom hardwood pieces for a great deal. It includes installation, constant check ins from Steve, and the fun part of picking a stain and finishes. I can not say enough good things about this company. I do believe that perhaps the work is a bit overpriced and that you might be able to find high quality work at a better value. Steve is also a good salesman.
