I brought my food truck to Custom Tints and Car Wrap for a full wrap. Approximately one week after pickup, I identified physical damage to the exhaust hood. The top surface showed a dent consistent with impact, along with signs of attempted reshaping. The exhaust hood was no longer square or level and was visibly tilted.
After contacting the shop, responsibility was initially denied. Following further discussion, the owner acknowledged that the exhaust hood was struck while the truck was being driven into the shop. This damage was not disclosed at the time of pickup.
Several weeks later, after multiple days of heavy rain, I experienced water intrusion. Upon removing the exhaust hood cover, I observed a large water stain inside the hood vent assembly. Some internal areas are now showing early rust formation. The misalignment of the hood has created gaps that allow rainwater to enter, resulting in water dripping into the cooking area. This is a serious functional and sanitation concern for a food truck.
The exhaust hood is a brand-new unit costing over $2,000, not including installation, and is now compromised. The misalignment also negatively impacts the exterior appearance of the truck.
Separately, the wrap workmanship itself does not meet professional standards. As shown in the photos:
* The wrap is not airtight in multiple areas and exhibits persistent bubbling.
* Air bubbles are especially present along edges and corners and can be pressed or popped easily, indicating improper surface preparation and adhesion.
* Corners are lifting and beginning to peel, which will likely lead to tearing and premature failure over time.
* There are numerous patched sections instead of continuous, clean panels.
* Several wrap seams are not straight and overlap adjacent sections unevenly, showing poor alignment and lack of detail work.
In addition, the lower side panels were wrapped using two noticeably different shades of the same color. This may not be obvious at first glance, but becomes clear upon closer inspection, as shown in the photos. This inconsistency significantly affects the visual uniformity of the vehicle.
Overall, this project involved undisclosed physical damage, resulting water intrusion, early corrosion concerns, and wrap installation issues consistent with rushed or substandard workmanship. I'm posting this review to document the condition and help others make an informed decision before trusting their vehicle or business investment here.
Due to the unresolved nature of these issues, I am evaluating whether to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, if this business is registered. read more
