Alright, so a few months ago my sister was getting married and I was her Maid of Honor. The dress was...not my favorite, but she liked it, so of course I wore it for her. I ordered it online (not recommended, of course) thinking I knew my size. I figured I'd go up a size because it was luxe chiffon and how bad could it be? Answer: very bad. And no give whatsoever around the chest or stomach area. Needless to say, I had us both pretty messed up for a few days because I didn't know if I could fix it. A week before the wedding I brought my dress to Cynthia and told her what I wanted. She added a beautiful corset back to the dress, AND hemmed it about six inches, all in a matter of two days. TWO. DAYS. It was worth the money for the comfort of knowing my sister would have the dress she wanted and having it done in time for the wedding. Excellent Service. Cynthia even gave me her personal cell phone number when I needed a jacket tailored for an interview. She said to call her if I got a call for the interview before the date of pick up and she would rush it. WOW! I got the jacket in time and done very professionally. She took in the shoulder pads and fixed the sleeve length. Very reasonably priced. She also hemmed a pair of slacks, which came out just the right length. My husband took his uniform jacket to Cynthia and she put on all the patches and replaced the buttons per regulation measurements. Excellent work and very professional. Cynthia is also very friendly with kids. When I bring my son, she is so nice towards him and asks him questions and laughs with him. I purchased a dress on 5/13/2016 for my wedding that fit every where but the bust area. I was referred to Cynthia from another business I have used. Trust me when I say I was thinking I was a fool to make such a purchase an having the dress not fit. As soon as I walked in an met Cynthia she treated me like I was family and put all my worries to rest. She had amazing ideas of how to alter the dress an still keeping the parts I loved. At the 1st fitting she nipped tucked more an had my dress finished a day before promised. Cynthia's amazing personality an constant reassurance that the dress will fit and be amazing on my wedding day made this experience that much more enjoyable. Cynthia is a horrible person and you should all avoid her. She ruined my fiancé's wedding dress and refuses to refund what we paid. We are not even asking her to cover the cost of the dress she ruined. only what we paid her. Instead of being civil Cynthia continuously talked over us, hurled insults, and hung up on us. Now she wont answer our calls and we cant just go down there because she wont buzz us in. We now have no choice but to either eat the several hundred dollars we paid her or take her to court. As if pushing our wedding out twice due to covid wasn't enough, my fiancé has to start from scratch and buy a whole new dress. Word to the wise, avoid this horrible business at all costs. read more

Cynthia's work is impeccable! She altered my husbands suit, which included shortening the jacket, shortening the sleeves, taking in the pants, and shortening the pants. She also altered my wedding dress, removing the zipper and replacing it with a corset lace back. The dress is heavily beaded, on a poly fabric with lycra which is horrible to work with if you know anything about sewing. Both items were done a day a head of schedule and turned out perfectly. Her pricing is extremely reasonable, and as mentioned her workmanship is top notch. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone needing alterations from a simple pant hem to complicated suit or wedding dress alterations. read more

I bought a dress online for my daughter, and didn't know that it was from China. The dress was for a wedding at the end of the month and with Chinese New Year thrown in there, I had to get the dress altered. My daughter was in Tucson, the dress in Mesa, so I asked Cynthia to let the dress out without her being able to measure my daughter. I picked it up on the day Cynthia said she would have it ready. I couldn't tell she'd done anything to it, but when my daughter tried it on, she looked beautiful and the dress fit to a tee. I will definitely go back to Cynthia. She was awesome! read more

I received a Kurta (Indians men's garment) as a gift from a friend after her visit to India, and needed to have some alterations made so it would fit better (I'm a skinny guy, and most clothing off the rack fits too loose and baggy). Having never had any clothing altered before, I simply had to trust the positive reviews I found for Cynthia. She did not disappoint! Wow! Let me tell you, Cynthia takes so much pride in her work and really knows how to take care of her clients. I live in northern California but my grandparents live in Mesa. I'm getting married in a couple of weeks and my grandpa needed his suit to be tailored. So I looked on yelp for a good place to take him to. I flew all the way to az for one day just to take him to get his suit tailored. She personally called me to let me know his suit was ready for try on and pick up. I needed a tailor to adjust some slacks and a couple of sport coats and Cynthia did a fantastic job. She was recommended by an East Mesa local resident and she was right - Cynthia is nice, personable and does great work at a fair price. So my drive from Ahwatukee Foothills is well worth it. Though I must past many tailors on the way from Ahwatukee to get to Cynthia's in Mesa - it is well worth the effort. As such; I recommend anyone and everyone to get your work done at Cynthia's.
