Really honest genuine owner! I came in for work on several cars I owned and have always had a great experience each time. Just recently I came in because my trunk latch screws had loosened and one fell out due to my 8 years of extreme usage for my 2 12 subwoofers. The dealership said like almost $300 to diagnose so I figured I would take a chance bringing it back to Custom Sounds and the owner had to put some work in to fix it but did not charge me and refused to let me tip him. I really wanted to Thank the owner of this place who went above and beyond to make a good deal for me to install the new Alpine dash unit including the dash kit and harness plus a adjestment to my JL audio amplifier which was installed a while back but didn't give me the beat till he changed few setting on the unit itself, good and clear sound, Alpine was simply the best units out there, it changed everything about my truck including the sound quality. About a week ago, my car stereo stopped working. I have an hour+ commute, I need my stereo. Stopped by Custom Sounds with my Fiat today expecting to shell out some serious cash. The staff listened to me, checked my car out, and provided me some options. They weren't pushing any upgrades and just wanted to have a happy customer. They found a blown fuse, as well as, other misplaced fuses. Replaced the blown fuse, set the other fuses to factory spec and booom, everything works again! Ripped off. Been here twice. First time was to get a car stereo installed. That was done at a fair price and very quickly. Just had a remote starter installed. The company that I bought the starter from sold me the package to include installation. They referred custom sound to me to install since they were a qualified installer. Riz seemed annoyed that I was using this service. I went in and he asked if I had the module for the starter and it was included in the package I brought in. He kept telling me that it was not the same part. I then asked to see the part he was trying to sell me and it was the exact same part. I was in a hurry and I had already paid installation amount to the company that sold me the starter so I just bought the additional part. After further research, this was a rip off. It was the same part. I'm out over $100. Also, the installer in the garage yelled at me when I asked how long it would take. There are so many other installers in Tracy alone. I called ahead and was given a price for a product. When I went in, I was quoted a much higher price from the owner. I told him that I spoke with someone else on the phone and they gave me a lower price. He didn't honor that price. The owner added $10 to my quoted price over the phone. He then told me that if I did not pay for the installation, I could not return it if it did not work appropriately. I felt wronged and that the owner had something against me for whatever reason. Absolutely horrible customer service! I walked in there and asked if they had an adapter and right away I was met with a smart alic attitude. I needed help solving an issue a previous owner did to my car, so I asked and they skipped around the question and kept telling me that they will install a new stereo for me. They kept giving me prices on the stereos and installation. Which I did not ask nor was mt question any similar to that at all. I even showed them a picture of the issue I had and one of the guys conpletely ignored my question and gave me a price on the installation fee. Basically, unless you give them money then they won't answer your questions nor in any way, shape or form attempt to help you out. Several years ago, I bought a new single din Kenwood stereo, and SiriusXM tuner, and installation parts from various online stores. These guys agreed to install everything for me in my PT Cruiser. They did a great job working out how to program the stereo to work with the satellite service and ran the USB from the back of the head unit out to an outlet that they added to my lower dash, just the way I wanted. I was very happy with the cost and quality of their work. read more

I had my back windows and rear windows tinted here in 2008 with "llumar film". The read window tint has bubbled to the point that you cannot see clearly out the rear window. Custom Sounds refused to replace the film despite me having the original receipt which states a lifetime warranty. The receipt and llumar tags they gave me were not filled out properly because...it turns out they did not use llumar film despite giving me a llumar tag. They bait and switched me using an inferior film. The owner refuses to honor the warranty because he can't get reimbursed from llumar because they didn't actually use llumar film... The owner also said that it was the previous owner that did this so he wasn't responsible. read more

I got a tint job done for my car a few months ago. The first time I went I got a quote. The second time I went and actually got the tint done, I ended up getting quoted a higher price. Riz (the owner) does not seem like he's smart enough to own a business and I also find him very unprofessional. I saw his daughter at the shop which did not bother me at all. Mid-conversation with Riz, she came to tell her dad something and he hissed her away. I have kids of my own and I understood that she needed her dad. Moments after our conversation, he left the front of the shop and I could hear him swearing at his little girl, presumably because he was interrupted during business. I felt so bad for her! I could hear him yelling at the top of his lungs, "Shut the f*** up and get in the back room, don't even talk to me!" His actions toward his daughter disgusted me! read more

I've used this place twice, and have had great experiences both times. The first time to put a new stereo in my car, and the second time to move that stereo to my wife's car. I got a new car... Both times I called in the morning, and then came in after work. Work was done quickly and no surprises on price. Unbelievably UNPROFESSIONAL and the worst customer service ever! I have had several window tintings done here and the work is good quality. Service is horrible. Never know what your going to get...But this last time, today, when we picked up my daughter's BRAND NEW 96 hour old scion, THERE WERE SEVERAL SCUFF MARKS on the front bumper!!! I know 100% there was nothing there before and when inspecting it before we left the shop, we noticed this. Of course, NOT CARING at ALL about the customer, the owner Riz told me "to prove it" as far as his shop having done the damage!!!!! And he absolutely has no plans of helping in fixing any of the damage. We took it over to a deatiling place, upon the shops suggestion and am now hoping they can fix the damage for only $55. One would think with customer service being vital to a business' success, he would have offered to AT LEAST pay for this....I will make sure to warn any and all NOT to frequent HIS business EVER!!!!! read more
