Custom Raised Gardens - 30" tall custom redwood raised beds - Carpenters Near Me

I am very happy with the quality and the design of my raised bed gardens. Peter really did a nice job on my Custom garden design. I have two 8 foot long beds and one 6 foot long bed. They are all lined and have gopher wire in the bottom. They are very sturdy and I look forward to many happy years of veggies! I had a very distinct design idea for my garden area, and Peter's raised beds work perfectly! read more

I've purchased two planters from these gentlemen: an 8x2x2 ft and a 4x2x2 ft. They're beautiful in redwood and look great on my patio. They delivered the 6 foot planter and brought it into my yard where I wanted it. I picked up the 4 foot planter at their San Marcos home workshop. The gentleman who helped me load the 4 foot planter into my truck was even kind enough to place some 2x4 pieces in my truck bed to avoid damage. I've had the planters for about a month now. Construction of them is excellent: no bowing or flexing anywhere, even though each is loaded with hundreds of pounds of soil and big plants. They survived our serious April rainstorms unscathed. The only recommendation that I have is to caulk the wood seams on the inside where you don't want water to seep out, and drill some holes where you do want water to flow. Excellent pricing too -- I saw these were about half the price of the crap that Wayfair sells, and I like supporting local small businesses who excel in what they do! read more

Really pleased with my purchase of a 4'x8'x18" cedar raised bed. I saw an ad on Craigslist after doing a little homework to find the best raised bed, and it was a great experience working with them from the beginning to end. Peter was my contact, and he was very quick to reply to emails and answer my questions. He delivered it on a Saturday afternoon and helped carry it to its final destination and it looks beautiful. Very sturdy and well built. They even put gopher wire at the bottom for me, and there were plenty of other customizations you could add, too. If I had the space, I would definitely get another one. Delivery is an extra fee and even though I live in Simi Valley, they still delivered it to me. Pretty reasonable for how far he had to come, too. Definitely would recommend! read more

Peter is a really nice, down to earth guy, and did a really nice job for us, and built 2 large custom planters out of redwood. The hardware consists of all coated deck screws, so they won't rust. He lined the bottom with plastic to cut down on the dry rot. They're still holding up just fine... after almost 2 years. Thank You! read more

If you are looking for wooden planter boxes, raised gardens, potting benches, or the like, contact Custom Raised Gardens. I contracted Peter to build 5 large custom planter boxes for a backyard concrete patio installation. The boxes look great and are just what I wanted!! Peter and his father even installed the larger boxes to fit the slope of the concrete. Even though he was very busy, he delivered all the boxes on time. No whining, no excuses...just good work. :) And I'm so pleased with planters and the experience that I ordered 3 more! This is a family owned business run with professionalism and integrity. Highly recommended! Update 3/3/17 After the recent torrential rains, one of my planter boxes got a plugged drainage hole and filled with water. The excessive water weight made the seams pull apart. I contacted Peter to find out what would be the best way to fix it. Not only did he recommend what to do, he came the next day and fixed it himself. Then he put additional screws in the other boxes to prevent similar issues should major rains happen again. Wow! Amazing customer service! Beautiful wooden planter boxes and a company that stands behind their products! read more

I contacted Peter by email with questions about building a potting bench. He was quick to respond and very easy to work with. The bench is very well made and exactly what I asked for. Measurements based on what would fit in my SUV! (He delivers for a fee) Came out perfect. It's nice to buy much better product from a local craftsman instead of a big box store. Very reasonably priced. read more

My experience with peter and Custom Raised Gardens was very straightforward and pleasant. I ordered a style 2 redwood planter box with lining and a closed bottom for a total of $180. Delivery was arranged for this planter and was prompt and done with great care, helping me get the box up to my second floor. I hadn't thought about the drainage needs until the day before the box had arrived, but that had already been taken care of with drainage holes drilled and plugged in the bottom. The planter stood quite well in the rain, and looks very nice out on my apartment patio. I hadn't thought about the drainage needs until the day before the box had arrived, but that had already been taken care of with drainage holes drilled and plugged in the bottom. There is more than enough depth to plant nearly anything I wish without worry, and made a very nice bed for me to begin gardening. The growing area is 17 inches by 44 inches, and it took three bags of gravel, along with four bags of soil to fill it up. Any questions I had were answered within a day with very clear responses, and the total build time was five days from invoice to delivery. read more

Best destination for a raised bed. Great prices and amazing quality!

Excellent all the way around. Start to finish. Peter was recommended by people in the San Diego Gardeners FB Group. I am more than satisfied with the potting bench Peter made for me. I chose to use cedar, and got a 5' long by 20" deep, by 5' tall bench. Peter was always responsive, pleasant, and helpful. The finished product is well constructed, sturdy, and fits like a glove in my very narrow yard. I don't think you can go wrong if you decide to have him do work for you. read more

Purchased my Potting Bench a couple of week ago. Peter delivered it right on time as he said he would. Just Love it. Still trying to get it organized but I will. There are many people selling these & I researched most of them. Never thought to look at Yelp for Peters Company. Just looking at his work on line then speaking to Peter on phone then meeting him. Peter & his associates I knew he was the right person to deal with. Could NOT be Happier. Stay away from EBay. They look Cheaply made. read more

I wanted to see the potting benches in person, and he even scheduled a viewing for me despite his busy schedule. I ended up ordering a 5 foot redwood potting bench, and Peter kept me updated on the progress throughout and even sent me pictures and suggestions to make the finalized product perfect.
