I don't often write reviews, but after my experience at Custom Car Works, I felt I had to. From the moment I walked in, Jacob treated me with such kindness, patience, and respect. My daughter had called around because I needed a new radio for my Toyota Camry, and after reading all of his wonderful reviews, we decided to give him a call. The reviews were absolutely right. At first, Jacob believed the problem was with the touch screen/display (the glass portion of the radio), so he ordered the replacement part. Before moving forward, he realized that replacing the screen wouldn't solve the problem after all. Rather than charging us for a part that wasn't needed, he absorbed the cost himself. He then continued troubleshooting until he determined that the entire radio needed to be replaced. He found a replacement radio, installed it at a very fair price, and made sure everything worked perfectly. That kind of honesty and integrity is rare these days. Instead of taking the easy route, Jacob did what was right, and that says everything about the kind of person he is. What impressed me most wasn't just his expertise --it was the way he treated me. He made me feel like I mattered, not just like another customer. In today's world, that kind of genuine care is rare. I took my older model car here to have the info screen replaced and a new infotainment unit installed. They did it quickly and left my car clean. When we had trouble connecting my android phone to the unit they worked with me as long as it took to resolve it. These guys are serious about customer service and their work is really exceptional. My 2013 Civic had a parasitic electric leak with the clock/backup screen, the result of a poorly installed cheap head unit bought on Amazon and locally installed in Boca Raton. My mechanic said it was the head unit and the installer should address that. The original installer offered no help stating the original unit was crap and the warned me, basically they said they weren't interested in helping. I discovered Custom Car Works on line. Jacob was very helpful and agreed that the cheap head unit was likely at fault. We discussed options and agreed on a unit and price I dropped the car on Tuesday and picked it up on Wed. Jacob spent almost an hour going over the operation of the head unit along with the new rear camera. The faulty parasitic clock issue is no more and the head unit is top notch. Jacob also pointed out a bare wire on previous installation and noted a faulty wiring which was likely the source of my problem. These guys are real pros and I would recommend them based on my experience with them. read more

The problem ran deeper than just the audio system, and he turned me on to his guys at Very Best Foreign Cars to fix some module issues, and then Jacob cleaned up the wiring nightmare my car had. These are my go to people for car stereo work. I brought in a retro SXM antenna I got on EBay and thought it would be a simple swap. It wasn't and my "stylish" antenna ended up being a piece of crap. The car radio, CD player, back up camera broke (the screen went black) so I bought a used one online and called Custom Car Works to see if they could install it. Jacob who was so gracious over the phone said to bring it over and they'd take care of it. I took my FJ Cruiser in today on no notice because the stereo I had installed in Detroit was not turning off with the car, unresponsive, etc. basically Bad News Bears for a car battery if left unattended. I called ahead of time with the problem and the gentleman told me to come in and he would take a look at it. I did, and he immediately went out to my truck, found the reset button, showed me how to reset the stereo (absolutely nothing wrong with it other than computer blip) and said "There, now I don't have to charge you."
