What should've been a clear, aggressive pursuit of justice turned into one of the most exhausting and disheartening experiences I've ever had with a professional service. They lowballed me from the start -- initially offering me $1,000-$2,000, knowing I was struggling, desperate, and scared. I pushed back and begged them to at least try to get me $5,000-$6,000 -- not because that was fair, but because that's the bare minimum I needed to survive at the time. Eventually, they gave me $5,000 and I thanked them, not because I felt satisfied, but because I was trying to stay polite and hopeful. I was worn down. They took advantage of that. That should've been a red flag to any law firm that cared: when a client is asking for the lowest possible amount just to survive, that's not a negotiation win -- that's a failure of representation. They didn't fight for me. They didn't keep me informed. They didn't explain the process or walk beside me like they promise on their ads. I see so many reviews that don't reflect the experience I had with the firm. My attorney would routinely leave my text on read, and not return calls/emails. My case would not make the firm much money so I get it business first but at least have the decency to acknowledge a client, answer questions, and maybe have one face to face interaction. If I had been more cognizant upon waking from my accident with my brain injury I would have done more research on firms instead of going with the one presented to me in the hospital. I wish there was a way to dispute my signature on the forms as I have no memory of signing them or even my time in that facility, but business first. In addition once finding an attorney who was more patient and qualified to handle my case my attorney who I let go from the firm dragged his feet on sending his lien. Also I say qualified because my attorney did not even mention going after the UIM coverage.... maybe he was? I will never know due to lack of communication. I would NOT recommend this firm to any of my friends/family, not even my worst enemy. After a three month hospitalization I just wanted help and guidance on how to finally close this chapter of my life. I have to complain about my services received from Curtis Legal Group. My settlement was SO small. I was injured in a car accident, and because I did video calls (no cost) w/ my Dr. , I barely got anything compared to the lawyers. They got way more money than I did, like 2/3 of my settlement. It was unfair and I feel I totally deserved more than what I got. In no way am I a greedy person, but I was in pain for a long time and don't feel I was compensated fairly. I was involved in a bad car accident in December 2017 where my 2017 Kia optima was rear ended in a 4 car pile up and Totaled.
