Being that my situation was emergent in nature, I was not able to "shop around" for my provider. Shortly before surgery, Dr. Lester came to my room at Denton Regional and introduced himself as well as went over the situation at hand as well as a variety of possible courses of action that could be taken depending on what he found in the O.R. Thankfully, the less invasive option ended up being what was used. Dr. Lester communicated in a clear manner with my wife when I was in the recovery room and was also regular with daily visits in the hospital until my discharge. I'd also like to recognize Dr. Connaughton, who was the Dr. on staff the day of my discharge, for his professionalism and reassurance. Both of the doctors have a good bedside manner. I have had two follow-ups in the week since, one with the nurse, and the other with Dr. Lester. I was impressed with amount of time spent by Dr Lester as I had several questions. If you find yourself in a non-emergent situation, where you are able to pick and choose a general surgeon, I highly endorse Dr. Stephen Lester.

Urgent care couldn't see her due to the severity of the cut. An ex coworker of mine was able to phone Dr Rivets office and they were able to get her in 20 minutes later. Everyone at the office was attentive, sweet and treated her very kindly. Dr Rivet really calmed her down and was extremely patient with her. Was able to get her lip stitched up and was in and out in about an hour. The office didn't price gauge when her out of state insurance wouldn't cover her procedure. The day of my consultation I was a bit nervous and excited. I was prepared with my question list. The consultation went better than I expected. As soon as I met Dr. Flugstad and his assistant Michelle, I felt at ease. I felt very comfortable and excited. Months after I booked my surgery appointment. During the time before the surgery I always had lots more questions and concerns and all the time Dr. Flugstad and his assistant answered all my questions. I felt bad for emailing them all the time but was very happy with their patience and that they were answering all my questions in a timely manner. All of Dr. Flugstad's staff that I've come across with have been very friendly and polite. The day of my surgery my husband was my ride/nurse. Dr. Flugstad's staff was ready for me and provided my husband with lots of information and made him feel comfortable while he waited for me. Before I went to sleep his staff and I had a great conversation with lots of laughs. While recovering at home Dr. Flugstad checked in with us often, we were reassured that if we had any questions or concerns not to hesitate to call. Everything went well with my surgery and I've been very happy with my results. I recently had an appointment to see how I was doing and we were both pleased with my recovery. I really enjoy being in their office. They are very friendly and I love talking to his assistant Michelle. She knew about my moms passing, she gave me a big hug and condolences. (Crown work) according to their "dental treatment plan" they said I owed an additional amount. I found it odd because I had paid everything already out of pocket. Fast forward, recently my new dentist was out on maternity leave. I was at a time crunch. Therefore, i returned to Denton Smiles and saw Dr. Tran again. They supplied me with a complete and detailed "treatment plan" including x-rays. Again it was several thousand dollars. I'm a senior citizen living on a small fixed retirement pension, but am serious and responsible about paying my debts even if I use credit cards. Again this time I paid punctually 2 large payments over a few thousand. Again, after a month of having paid my bill (treatment plan") and dental work was completed, mysteriously i was billed an additional $200. dollars. Now every week i receive a harassing text of owing $200. I have called, I politely emailed and texted. But no answer or response. I requested a meeting with their accounts manager to show them a copy of their treatment plan and the payments I made that paid it in full. No response not even out of courtesy! Total I paid this practice $10,000 ! All to Denton Smiles. Their behavior can put responsible paying patients with good credit into a debt collection agency that ruins their credit! CAUTION: This facility does not keep their word nor respects their own treatment plans and bills they provide to patients. Even when you pay in full out of pocket and clarify insurance doesn't cover it (which they already know) they'll look for a reason to bill you a month or two AFTER you've already paid your bill in full. These are deceptive practices squeezing additional money out of responsible patients and worse ruining one's good credit. Months later, I am still waiting for the appointment to settle the matter.
