Also they don't carry other izakaya staples such as tempayaki sticks nor does it have any of the festive menu combos that Japanese izakaya are known for. Considering sushi and japanese food in London is terrible for the most part, this place is a bit refreshing but not good enough for me to rate higher than three stars. The noodles are made in house and cooked perfectly, and the tsuyu had a rich depth of flavor. The tempura was light and delicate and also came with a flavorful sauce. They also seem to do sushi well, with nice touches like a brush to apply soy sauce so you don't overdo it on the dip. I had an umeshiso roll and it was quite tasty. The people getting real sushi seemed to be enjoying it. We also had a miso- beef tendon, which was on the specials menu. That was fabulous, super tender and flavorful. Overall they seem to do especially well at broths and sauces. The atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant with nice lighting and high ceilings. The service is kind and quick with water refills, but let us enjoy our dessert (sharp yuzu ice cream) and tea in peace. It was a nice dinner and worth the spend. We'll be back.
