Butter chicken for sure! Don't forget to ask about the owner's past. You might surprisedly find yourself in a Jason Born plot.

Aryan Indian Food - Lovely Indian restaurant in Playa

Terrible food. Service is okay. Ambiance is nothing to talk about…read more This is a simple joke in the wall type Indian restaurant... not too bad but nothing fancy. However, the food was terrible. We ordered Dal Makhani, Mix Veg, Mutter paneer, Garlic Naan. Everything was bad. No flavor. The mixed veg has 3x the spices but not properly cooked so you could taste the raw spices. The dal makhani was watered down. I have had better mutter paneer from a ready to eat packet in grocery stores. The Garlic naan has no garlic, and was from a packet. Plus, it had some terrible smelling oil on the name of Butter. I couldn't eat it. We only finished 50% of the food, that's how bad it was. Won't go there again. Turns out the owner is Indian, but he doesn't show up anymore. Has handed over the reins to some of the local women who try their best but it is not good enough.

Amazing service and i would say ambience had indian touch. We had kadai chicken , saag paneer, and tawa Roti ( hand made), raita , tandoori chicken. I must say it is rare to get this kind of quality and taste in mexico. We were lucky to meet the chef / owner aswel name Om. Very humble and helpful. Thank you for your services

Looking back at the reviews from many years ago, I see this used to be a hookah bar and it still…read moreshows. With the seating layout they have there's no way to earn enough per square foot. At least not that I can see. The owner says he splits his time between New York and Tulum. I'm guessing he's not in the restaurant business in New York, but maybe he is. The evening's mishaps began with the drink orders. I asked if he had rye whiskey. He didn't know what that was. I ordered a Manhattan with makers mark and I was brought straight makers mark on the rocks. If the man could not hear me, he should've had the courtesy to come around the enormous table to where I was sitting. That's fine. I don't mind drinking neat whiskey. The second time was a little more successful. This time I was presented a Manhattan, but no orange peel twist or candied cherry. As far as the food goes, the tandoori dishes were unavailable the night we were there. The aloo tikki was ok if insubstantial. The pakoras were seemingly sans onions. I'm actually not going to continue. This place is on the skids and I hope they're able to turn it around. If you come by with a party of two and they still have the enormous couch seating and some few tables in the back in the "more mosquito area" then I would go to a different place if I were you. for the owner, I would suggest he consider redoing the seating in the front, if this place is to be more of a restaurant and not the ghost of a sheesha joint. He should also eat at some of the Indian restaurants in the New York area at his price point. He should then at least set his standards by those. Some decent flavors some times, but much more needs to be done.

I got the Saag Paneer and my husband got Aloo Gobi. It too was amazing. Even the butter chicken was the best I've ever tasted and it's a pretty common Indian dish. YUMMMMMM!!!!! The atmosphere was fun too! We sat on cushions and great music. My son was dancing to it.

I had a delicious lunch of the chicken tikka appetizer (tender white breast meat), onion nan, raita, and the included a little shredded dressed salad with creamy light dressing, and selection of tasty classic chutneys / sauces (tamarind, green, etc) A tiny nest of spun sugar on the plate was an unexpected high end touch. I also had a yummy chai and dessert. The tiny, intensely sweet galub jamun (like a dense deep fried donut ball soaked in syrup) was yummy, though lacking in the rose scent I typically associate with the dish... though that will probably make it more appealing to the island clientele who probably aren't used to floral flavors. Their tandoori oven is not to be taken lightly, as they're important for cuisine beyond curries. They are hard to come by and shipped circuitously from India. Directions: Go about 5 blocks south of the ferry plaza along the main seaside road Av Raphael E Melgar. Turn left onto Calle 7 sur, and go about 1/2 block from the sea. It's on your left. It's a bit hard to spot because the main sign doesn't face the sidewalk, though you can see the white tiled little plaza it's on, that houses 3 restaurants and a bathroom. They are to the right of a large established Mexican seafood restaurant and share the plaza with a tiny street facing liquor store.

It was with great expectations that we went to Bindiya this evening.   The reviews that we found…read morespoke highly of this new restaraunt just a few blocks from the center of San Miguel.   As people who spend a month per year in Cozumel this diversity was welcomed. Walking into an empty restaurant was our first sign of concern, but when the lady in charge didn't get off her butt to greet us concerns began to grow.  We entered anyway wanting to believe the reviews we read - they must have been paid reviews on yelp.. My pina colada was the worst I've had - EVER!  Tried to order but they didn't have Nan bread.  Seriously, an indian (dot) restaurant without nan.  Tried for plain basmati rice - no again.  They charged $5 for some flavored rice.  Have you ever been to an Indian restaurant that did not serve rice with the main dishes?  But not having lamb - no lamb at all - that section of the menu was out.  So it was chicken or fish or some unrecognizable vegetarian stuff with potatos. So we defaulted to two chicken dishes, Murgh chicken curry & Butter chicken along with an order of Jerra rice (had to buy rice!).. The dishes were VERY bland.  The murgh curry wasn't bad though and we did eat it.  It just lacked any real curry flavor.  The butter chicken was unlike any butter chicken I've ever eaten in any country in Asia or even the US..  It was almost Italian in nature with the overload of tomato sauce in it.  I've never had Butter chicken that tasted like tomato sauce.   It was horrid and we left over half of it on the table, along with that skanky pina colada. On the bright side the decor of the restaurant looks nice and the prices were not over the top.  More expensive than the value as it turns out. A very disappointing experience...

Finally my family agreed and in Cozumel , I yelped and found an Indian restaurant. It is about 15 minutes inside , away from ferry. The decor was inviting and excellent.the host was courteous. We ordered, salty lassi , lemonade and mango lassi.we loved our drinks. After that we ordered, chicken tikka masala and chicken biryani and garlic naans. My kids finally thanked me for taking them for Indian cuisine as they loved the food. The chicken tikka was perfectly spiced for my kids taste and biryani for my more spicier taste. The owner also came to visit with us on her day off . We appreciated the welcoming gesture!! We thanked the chef Sanjay for making our visit memorable with his delicious cooking . Will be back when we are back to Cozumel!!
