I have been coming regularly to Uxbridge for work in the last few months and I always planned to…read moretry some Indian food, as UK is real mecca for Indian cuisine on this continent. I left a choice of cuisine for the evening with my colleague, and I settled on choosing the best place to go. This place had some good reviews on some other websites, so we decided to try it. The restaurant is quite nice, light and has some cool water bubble decorations with light going on. We started with some poppadoms, garlic naan bread. All of those came with some sauces, that were really nice - especially lime pickle. Afterwards it was time for our mains - lamb madras for my colleague and Tawa lamb - local specialty. Medium spiced dish with herbs and lamb. The food was very tasty and well spiced, but just enough. Service was extremely attentive and waiter checked a few times, if his recommendation of Tawa dish was a good match. After getting our bill he offered a glass of some liquor, which was a nice ending to our meal. If you are ever lost on the way to London and find yourself in Uxbridge then it is definitely a very nice place for some Indian food (I am not an Indian food expert thought).

As far as your local Indian restaurant goes, Javitri feels nice and modern. The restaurant has a…read morelovely relaxed atmosphere and although we visited on a Tuesday evening, I have no doubt it would have the same vibe on a Friday or Saturday. The staff are really attentive and the food felt like it came out promptly (hard to tell though when you start eating those papadums and can't stop until the mains arrive!) I ordered a chicken korma with rice and a saag paneer. This was the first time I tried a saag paneer and I was not disappointed; creamy cheese with spiced spinach was beautiful with my korma sauce. The main reason I have given 3 starts is because the chicken was very dry. I could only eat 2 or 3 pieces, and so did other people in the group I was with. Since I have eaten in restaurants and takeaways with such good moist chicken in a korma or other curry, this was a bit disappointing. There was a large group of 9 of us and the staff accommodated us really well as we weren't sure how many of us would turn up from the onset. They also had lovely little extras like hot towels, mint chocolate with the bill, and our bill came to £15 each including a tip. I will visit again and hopefully can improve my rating for the chicken!

My girlfriend & I have been here 3 times now & every dish has been exemplary. The menu on a 1st scan doesn't appear as extensive as some but don't let that worry you as the food including fish dishes are amongst the best we've tasted. Although we've only visited during the spring & summer months, log fires will make a winter meal worth venturing out in poor weather. It sports a fairly large outside area but am not sure about smoking. We rarely bother with starters but would expect them to be of an equally high standard as the main & vegetable courses. We have tried a number of chicken, prawn & fish dishes all of which seem to have more flavour than many restaurants. The atmosphere is wonderful, staff friendly & helpful. We will try a lamb dish next time which is very dependant on decent ingredients & where many lesser restaurants fall down. Well worth a visit not the cheapest by any stretch but still good value! My girlfriend & I returned Autumn 2010 the food was merely just good rather than excellent so drops a star. Returned May 2013 Food was very good enough to return again.

We ask the restaurant to choose the menu in advance, giving them the opportunity to serve their best. We visited the Tiger Garden in May 2012. This was the clubs second visit to the restaurant the last time being April 2011. The service was erratic to begin with but we soon enjoyed some great food. The restaurant is in a historic building (c1420) however the decor of main restaurant is plain and does not make use of the history. After a complimentary liqueur served at the end of the meal we were invited out the back to see the cockpit. This completely changed our view of the venue and its history. Windsor Curry Club rated the traditional style Tiger Garden 7.81 out of 10. The total cost of the meal (Inc. Drinks & Service) was £38.00 a Head.
