Arrived here with a friend at around close time and were greeted by a very sweet, friendly guy on the counter. He made suggestions as to what to go for, as we were being indecisive!
The meat is halal, which meant my friend had a lot more options. We went for the Keralan chicken curry, peshwari rice and poppadoms with mango chutney.
All in all the food was ok, but definitely not the best takeaway I've had in and around Manchester. I thought it was quite mean charging for the mango chutney, as dips normally come with poppadoms when ordered in a restaurants. The peshwari rice wasn't as I'd imagined (I thought it would have had similar ingredients to the naan...); it was pilau rice with bits of del monte style pear and I think peach? The curry was nice, but felt it was slightly lacking in flavour that I've tasted before.
The service is spot on, I wonder whether the takeaway is catering more for the tastes of the local area, rather than more authentic Indian food? read more
