    Indian Dhaba - Garlic Naan

There are three considerations for a good restaurant: atmosphere, service and food. Indian Dhaba…read morenailed all three! Indian Dhaba has a friendly and cozy atmosphere. The facade from the road is rather unassuming. No glamor or glitz. Upon entering the restaurant, everything changed. We were greeted with a smile by a gentleman who held the door for us. There are plenty of tables and TVs abundant. Country music playing in the background suggested no theme which added to the charm. The service was refreshing. It was clear that they wanted to ensure an excellent customer experience which exceeded our expectations. And now to the food. I was accompanied by my wife and her uncle. We all agreed that the taste profile was unlike anything we had experienced before; it was off the charts! My wife and uncle had the chicken curry while I had the goat dum biryani. There were generous amounts of meat in each disc, and the spices were definitely fresh and authentic. The flavors did not remind me of something I had eaten in the past, but rather of a comfortable place I had not visited before. The basmati rice and naan were both prepared to perfection. We will definitely return as soon as the mood strikes and will highly recommend to our friends!!

I had the Saag (spinach) Paneer curry and also the Chettinad mutton curry, along with garlic naan bread , also rice. Very good with generous proportions. The lady also brought some spiced vegetable sides because I had inquired about availability of chutney. Definitely coming back!! The front & dining room is very clean with a polished wood interior.

A first rate Indian restaurant…read more They call themselves Nepali. And the entrepreneurs may easily be Nepali. In the US, calling yourself a Nepali restaurant means taking a standard North Indian menu and adding momo and some Chinese dishes. In Nepal, they eat a lot more than momo. Mountainous regions in poor countries often use forms of protein that Americans don't particularly care for. (Fill in the blanks yourself on this one.) Doing that in the U.S. would be commercial suicide. At one time, Mount Everest had goat intestine on the menu. Goat intestine is relatively un-shocking given other items that Nepalis hunt or butcher and eat. The goat intestines did not sell well and had to be removed from the menu. So mostly what you get here is a plain old North Indian restaurant. Fortunately, Mount Everest is a very good plain old North Indian restaurant. * * * The headline story here is spice. A. Lots of it. B. Not your standard Anglo-Indian curry house spice mixes. I ordered my eggplant with a heat of 4. A heat of 5 is their !!NUCLEAR!! option. 4 is their "Commands Respect- Listen to Me Baby" level. Mount Everest's 4 is most other Indians restaurants 38. Steam came out of ears. Steam came out of eyes. I was amazed my metal container was able to hold that dish. I set a Grayson County speed record for most Naan consumed in the shortest amount of time ... As vast amounts of naan were stuffed into my flaming mouth to lower the temperature. * * * I LOVED IT. I WOULD DO THAT AGAIN IN A NEW YORK MINUTE. * * * If molten lava isn't your thing Ordering your food with a heat of 0 or 1 Will give you a nice lovely very mild dish. Mount Everest caters to all tastes. * * * The spicing here is unusual. This particularly shows up in the salty lassis. I couldn't tell you what the flavor combo was. But it was intriguing and wonderful. That is another dish I would order in a New York minute. * * * Speaking of non-New-York topics, Mount Everest does its best to fit into a Texas-Oklahoma aesthetic. There is a pool table. For all I know, Texoma is full of Indian restaurants with pool tables. But that was the first time, I had ever seen such a thing. They have country-western style decoration, and guitars on the walls to help set a mood. They serve cold beer. I am not used to Texas Ice Houses that also serve Tikka Masala and Aloo Chana. But this is a concept I could definitely learn to like. * * * Overall, this is a first rate establishment. And if you want enough inner fire to be able to climb the Himalayas without wearing a parka, Order any dish with a heat of 5. The snow will melt on either side of you as you pass.

Lets start with the interior which also includes an outdoor dinning space. Its got pretty cool styling that is still simple and doesnt go over the top. Id say its just enough to be a nice restaraunt. Its also clean, but not too clean and neat. A very comfy vibe for the average dining experience. Maybe not so much for a fancy date night. Now for the food. Or maybe the menu. Its got just enough options to make the average customer happy. Some place may offer more option and even more exotic options, but this place has the basics and a few more. The curry dishes come in mild medium or spicy. Some places give you 5 different stars, and some don't even give an option, but this place has just enough spice options. Lets not forget about the portions. They give you a small serving of rice so be ready to order several orders of it. Like 2 or 3 extra per dish. Last the service. My experience with the service was also just enough. They were there when I needed them. Pretty standard service. Overall I feel like I got my monies worth and would recommend this place to others. Not for anything fancy, but for your every day average lunch or dinner. Family will appreciate this place.

We also shared the chicken vindaloo and butter chicken and both were well seasoned and great portions. The garlic naan was amazing and freshly made. The tandoori bone-in chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside and the spices and flavor were excellent. I got it with a side of rice and cooling raita sauce, with were great complements to the chicken. The service was great, and they were very patient with me given my lack of familiarity with most of the menu items and seemingly unending list of questions. It's a pretty intimate atmosphere as well, it'd be a great spot for date night!

Service: Our server was very friendly! He was checking in on all the tables (about 5) dining at the time. Food: The breakfast was really good! I wanted to try some traditional Desi breakfast since the owner, Jana, told us about it when we had dinner here. They also serve traditional breakfast pancakes that made Country Club Cafe so popular (former tenant and owners). We ordered a few items off the breakfast menu: 1) Classic Breakfast Croffle (croissant waffle) 2) nihari and naan (beef stew with naan bread) 3) Desi Omelette with paratha (paratha is similar to a well done crispy crepe) All of the breakfast items were really good! I love that they are setting themselves apart from other breakfast places near here. It will give people options if they want to venture out from traditional breakfast items and try something new!
