Now, I don't know if the salesmen wouldn't help us because we were two women looking at cars, or if it was because the salesmen there realized we were looking for a Civic, which is one of their less expensive models. Needless to say, we left after about a half hour of no one speaking with us. The funny thing is we were ready to purchase the car and they WOULD have had a sale and our business (the dealership is the closest one to where we reside). Instead, we found a MUCH BETTER Honda dealership in Long Island. It was more of a trip for us, but they were very kind there and that's why we are purchasing our car from them. Paragon Honda is filled with douchey-dudes. Do not buy cars there. The salesmen there think they are better than everyone else. I was told they would gather the information I needed and get back to me. I decided to call again and go directly to the sales department. The salesperson I spoke with seemed completely uninterested. I asked some basic questions about the vehicle, and the response was essentially, "Yeah, yeah, we have it. We can do it. Do you want to come to the dealership today?" I explained that I wanted some clear information about the vehicle before making a trip to the dealership. I was then told, "Let me gather that information and I'll call you back in 30 minutes." For what? I'm asking very basic questions: Is the vehicle with the stock number actually available? Are there similar options on other models? What are the details of the vehicle? These are simple questions that a salesperson should be able to answer or at least make an effort to clarify. I called another salesperson to get some additional clarification, and the same thing happened. I asked questions about a specific vehicle, and instead of answering them, I was immediately asked, "Yeah, yeah, do you want to come down to the dealership today?" I said, "Can you please just answer my questions first?" Again: "Yeah, yeah, we have it. Do you want to come down?" No. I don't want to waste your time or mine. I simply want basic information before deciding whether it's worth coming in. Once again: "Let me gather the information and call you back." At this point, "Let me gather the information and call you back" must be the dealership's special saying to customers. The entire experience was extremely frustrating. It also sounded like the people I spoke with were doing other things while on the phone because I could barely hear them, and there was very little effort or interest in actually having a conversation with a potential customer unless I was willing to immediately drive to the dealership. There are plenty of Chevrolet dealerships in Queens, and I have no reason to waste my time with one that can't answer basic questions about a vehicle I'm seriously considering purchasing.
