DO NOT USE VAN BEEK EVER!…read more My contractor took me to Van Beek, who she was working with for only a few months. I made a full payment in cash to the owners daughter, Amanda, who was at the oakville location, and now in Mississauga. I paid in full, the cost of stones that were being delivered to my house for my patio work. As I left and went in to the car, my contractor stayed behind and BEHIND MY BACK, Amanda made an agreement with the contractor to give half the cash back to the contractor and told her she can give it later. Amanda made a new reciept to the order of my contractors name "Marcella Malkova" for the owing amount of $4746 privately. Once Marcella disappeared, this is the amount they are saying that somehow I owe them. My contractor ran away with thousands of dollars from me and many other people without finishing the work. The contractor also ran away without returning the cash Amanda took and gave her from my full payment. Amanda's father, the owner then put a Lien on my house because I REFUSE TO PAY THEM THE MONEY I ALREADY GAVE TO THEM. The mistake I made was that I failed to notice that they did not give me a receipt at the time of payment. Although, I have a receipt from my contractor saying that I paid for all the stones on the exact same day. When I approached them with my shock after receiving a letter stating they have put a lien on my house, they told me and admitted to this whole situation. They are the ones who told me all this happened (by mistake because Amanda was young). Amanda admitted (I have recordings) to have trusted my contractor and thought it was ok to secretly give the contractor half of my payment I made to her, thinking she will get it back later. I am so appalled by this company and how they operate. The owner now refuses to talk to us because of what mistake his daughter made, and is trying to have us pay legal fees and incurring interest...on an amount that was fully paid! He states that because the contractor put the stone on our property, we are responsible. EVEN THOUGH THEY ADMIT WE PAYED THEM FULLY. We will be taking this legally but I want to warn as many people as I can because this is such a sketchy business and I cannot let anyone else go through the distress they are putting me in. THESE GUYS ARE CROOKS. Also, they were giving my contractor stones on loan for other customers and once she ran away they also threatened to put liens on other innocent home owners.

I went to Agram Garden Center to purchase 5 - 30 by 26 inch patio stones. I was able to call and…read morespeak with someone very easily so that was nice. However, trying to find where I needed to go wasn't easy, the dust dirtied my car and I had to personally lift all 5 - 105lbs patio stones into my trunk. The stones were nice looking but ended up being the wrong colour. I kept the receipt, assuming I could return like I have in the past at Home Depot. However, as I called the gentlemen, an understatement at best, the man who picked up sounded and also acted like the boss, it may have been so. I explained, I was in yesterday and bought the patio slabs but they aren't the right ones. I asked if I could return them and he said no with a negative tone. finally, he offered me store credit which is not what I want. They pay the boys who lift these heavy stones most likely minimum wage and I ha for lift myself. After that experience he has lost me as a customer, sparked a negative review and will lose business from not only me but my entire family and some friends in Oakville. I was born and raised here along with my mother. We are involved in work which could provide business for million dollar mansion owners. However, Agram's will not be getting the contracts that's for sure. treat people right and don the right thing! Hope your reading this pal because I promise your attitude and cheapness Of not letting me return $42.50 of Patio Stones has cost you thousands of dollars from me, thousands from my family and potentially Hundreds of Thousands from the future clients who would of been sent your way. Way to go!!

Excellent patio stone and fresh sod. Very good staff also.read more

Issue not resolved. Driver arrives with 2 yards of top soil on April 14th. Asked where to put it. I…read moreask if it's possible for him to put it at the end of the driveway. He says yes if I move my basketball net. He backs up gets out to see where he is and backs up a little more. As he backs up I see he goes on an angle and we hear a loud crack. He gets out of the truck and asks if I heard it. I say yes but I am not sure what happened. The truck has obstructed my view, but as you can see from the pictures, he backed up over my driveway and cracked the wood. At this point he walks around to unload. I don't know how he could not have seen what happened but either way he dumps the load of dirt on top obstructing the damage and never mentions anything to me. As I start to move dirt I begin to see what's happened. At this point I take some pictures, and continue to take pictures as I remove the dirt to see the damage that's happened. I reach out via Facebook with some pictures asking for a call. Someone responds very politely ensuring that someone will contact me on April 18th. I received a call 5:30 p.m. on April 18th from a representative. Based on the Facebook message I'm thinking this will be resolved tonight. I went into this calm and looking for a resolution. The call only served to make the situation worse and upset me even more. He starts the conversation by telling me that they spoke to the driver and his explanation is that I directed him and knew of the damage and was okay with it. I thought it was odd that at no point was I asked for my side. I said, do you want to know my story, and his response was, oh yeah sure. After I explained my side his response was, well the driver told us something different. I really got the impression that they felt the issue was resolved AKA there was no issue, and the call was simply to tell me so. At this point I started to get frustrated. I said that I would like the order to be refunded and let them know I was going to get a quote to fix. He passed me over to the manager. When she picked up the line she said hello Suzanne speaking. I said hi it's Andrew. Then there was about 20 seconds of dead air. I thought maybe she would say something to the effect of how can I help, or I understand there is an issue, but she only provided silence. I said, are you going to make me explain again what the situation is? Her response was whoa you sound really hostile. She also kept interrupting to say she couldn't hear me, which was weird since I didn't have that problem with the other person. So right away I knew her approach was going to be to get rid of me. She was more interested in telling me the driver's side of the story just like the previous person. Again her version was nothing like my version. Apparently I was directing the driver the whole time when in reality I was standing at my door watching. Apparently I knew the driver backed up over the driveway and told him not to worry about it despite the fact I didn't see it, I was only aware of it after moving some of the dirt. Apparently I asked him multiple times to keep going further back. At this point I just said the driver is lying and she's defended him saying he's a great driver. That doesn't mean he didn't make a mistake. Again she said I directed him and was okay with the damage. I asked how that was even possible since he dumped the load of dirt over top. I said did you see the pictures. Do you think I'd be okay with that. I said only after did I start to move the dirt did I see the damage, and at that point I started to take pictures. She asked again if I directed him and I said absolutely not that's not my job he's a professional. She said I would get a call back on April 19th. No call.
