We started with some of the best and definitely BIGGEST onion rings I've ever had in my life!! They were coated in a thick delicious batter, perfectly fried and served with two dipping sauces. I already want to come back just to have these again! Then we both ordered the barburger and a side of sweet potato fries to share. The burger was amazing and had that "melt-in-your-mouth" taste I couldn't get enough of; we were both talking about this burger for days! And the sweet potato fries were also perfect. They didn't forget to make the sides just as good as the entrees here. We'll be back sooner than later. Definitely check this place out if you're a burger fanatic! ;)

My food was delicious. I got the turkey burger and it was excellent. They also serve them with what appears to be cut in house fries which were also very good. Prices were very reasonable. Service was good. I would go back if I ever had the chance to again.

I was able to grab a seat by the bar. The service was just ok. Bartender wasn't necessarily the friendliest or most inviting but it may have been because he was just flustered handling the lunch rush alone. I got the classic burger with Brussel sprouts. $5 uncharge to swap fries for Brussel sprouts seemed a little steep for a quick burger joint but the Brussels were actually really good. Not sure what they were cooked in but it added a bunch of good flavor and there were a few pieces that had a nice crust on them. The burger was delicious. The buns were perfectly toasted so each bite had a nice buttery crunch to it. I don't know what's in their special sauce but it really brings everything together.

The Smashburger was unlike any I'd had before as were the Hashbrowns. Their choices were Bacon egg n cheese biscuit, Fried Chicken (some of the BEST EVER) biscuit, Corn Dog and Waffle Fried Hashbrowns. We ordered a deluxe burger and a crust burger with curly fries. Both burgers were super good and juicy, and served piping hot and came out quick! The curly fries were a good choice too. The meat is well seasoned and they don't skimp you on the toppings. The service was really friendly also. The menus didn't offer an explanation of what everything was, so I had to ask. They have lots of sauces to choose from for your burger, so that's fun. I also think it's slightly pricey for getting just a burger with no fries, but maybe that's just me. I'll be back though, it was delicious!

Parking can be a little tricky though, so you'll probably need to find street parking nearby. Only thing I'd say is the whole "best burger in Charleston" claim feels questionable at best. But last night we went back and we started with the Crab dip. The crab dip had so much spice that the spice overwhelmed the delicate flavor of the crab meet. The kettle chips would have been good but they to had too much spice. Then we ordered the Boom Boom Shrimp. The shrimp was over cooked and to salty. The waitress was kind enough to have the kitchen remake the dish. The second time it came out it was still over cooked, rubbery, and still to salty. We asked and found out that they had recently changed chefs. As a foodie when changing chefs it is a good idea to change the menu to keep people from noticing the change. It is possible this new chef would excel if the menu was designed to accentuate his or her style.

If you're getting food, definitely try the blistered green beans, poutine, and the farmer's salad (which is like a Cobb salad/bowl, it's amazing) *but* my all-time fave is the fried chicken sandwich - it's honestly one of the best l've ever had in Charleston. Also, this place is huge so they were able to accommodate my friend's post-wedding party (about 20 people) at the last minute and we had a blast. Everywhere else we tried to go either didn't have the space for us or were closing so it totally made our night! We just made sure to call ahead to check and they were more than happy to have us - the bride was happy so you know it was good :) Bottom line, the Peacock is a local gem hidden in plain sight on East Bay and, as a local, it's become one of my top go-to's in Charleston. You can't beat the prices (seriously), ambience, quality, and awesome staff. They also have live music every week so they know how to keep it classy and lively at the same time. I highly recommend checking it out!

Not spicy, but good flavor. Scallop dumplings -- if I was at home, I'd bring the bowl to my mouth and drink the remaining sauce. Pastrami -- fell apart in your mouth. So good! Tilefish -- wow. The corn mash and miso sauce paired with it 11/10. Potatoes were candied and had a great popcorn rice to top it off. Soo good!! While we had a fabulous experience at FIG last night, I know there is a lot out there highlighting both. If you're torn between the two, hopefully this helps... think of FIG as more dark, moody, white table cloths, fine dining, a lot of seafood options. Husk is more bright, more casual while still remaining nice, more meat options here. Both fabulous, just depends what you're looking for! Bathroom was clean and well kept, which I think says a lot about a restaurant.

The staff was friendly and the restaurant itself was pretty busy even on a Sunday evening. The time it took to refill waters were a bit longer due to the amount of patrons I believe. The tabling I feel is kind of maximized for efficiency. Even though we had space it still felt a little cramped. Of course the building itself is small so you might run into a staff by accident if you turn a corner too fast. Food wise the ribs starter was delicious. For entries we had the pork chop and fish with corn bread as our side. The fish was delicious although a little more dry but the sauce they had made it perfect for me. The corn bread was also a bit more dry than normal but it might be intentional since it was cooked on a cast iron pan. The pork chop however we did not like at all. It was more like pork belly but kind of had a steamed texture since the meat itself was lacking flavor and the sauce it was paired with just tasted off. The pork meat itself was tough and chewy. I'm not sure if we possibly ordered the wrong thing. I would have to say I honestly would only go here if friends wanted to go but I would probably not choose to go here myself again. The price for the food did not add up to the experience or the taste especially since you have to go out of your way to get here. I also feel like it's more for the tourists who are visiting from out of town and are staying in downtown.

As the restaurant was recommended to me by Daryl at the Homewood Suites, I decided to walk there…read more Upon arriving at the property, I was unsure of the location of the main entrance. I saw a woman who had just finished a conversation on her cell phone walking into one part of the L-shaped facility, so I followed her. "The host" asked whether I wanted to be seated inside or outside. I told him I had no preference. Landon, who became my server, then escorted me to the attached building, carrying menus and two glasses of water. Shortly after I was seated, Landon approached and asked if I would like a drink. I ordered a Margarita. Since I already knew what I wanted for my entrée, I also ordered the French Dip with French Fries. The French Dip arrived warm, but the fries were cold. When Landon inquired about my meal, I informed him of the situation. He immediately took the fries away. After I finished the French Dip, I received the fries. I do not know whether they were the original fries that had been reheated or a fresh order. Regardless, these fries were hot. Shortly afterward, the young man who had originally asked where I wanted to sit came to my table and removed my dirty dishes. Landon then brought me my check. Due to the circumstances, I was given a discount on my bill. Anyway, I did not hear either of them ask whether I wanted dessert. Perhaps because of my complaint, they just wanted me out. Oh well-- their loss! I really wanted to tried their Sundae! Landon again apologized for the cold French fries. He provided very good service throughout my meal, so I do not fault him for the kitchen's mistake. Based on the restaurant's L-shaped design, with two separate buildings and the kitchen located in one building while some of the dining area is in the other, I realize that meals may become cooler by the time they reach the table. Therefore, I would highly recommend requesting a table in the building where the bar is located. Lastly, serving water in a plastic cup, in my opinion, gives the restaurant a rather cheap appearance. Considering the overall setting, I would expect water to be served in a proper glass.
