    Allison met me in the front and greeted me. We walked together to the suite. She talked about my goals and challenges. Then she assessed my hair based off what she saw and felt. She trimmed it dry into a shape that best suit me. Then she washed and conditioned. When conditioned she detangled very gently. Throughout the process she explained everything to me. Then she styled with the best product to style my hair. I was under the hooded dryer for 30 minutes. I wanted my curls stretched a little and she did that. To end the appointment she explained all the products and their purpose for my hair. I already booked for my 6 month appointment. My natural hair is tight, coarse and dry. I left with juicy moist curls. Excellent experience!!!

    Such a great hair experience with Meaghan M. Always a great job when visiting. I am here to post for a special thank you to the front gentleman (Tom I believe his name is )! I purchased a few products on my way out then Stopped at dominos and forgot everything in Dominos! On my way home almost an hour away we realized we left all the hair products in the pizza joint! I called Curl evolution in hopes someone could walk over and pick up our products since we could not drive back, and would not be back until our next appointment in August. Not only did Tom pick up the products as a courtesy he mailed them to our home!! I cannot extend enough gratitude. This was above and beyond! It's always worth traveling 50 minutes to this salon. Thanks again!!

    Another great experience at Curl Evolution on Main Street in Babylon! They are so knowledgeable about curly hair. Thank you to Nicole today who was so kind and gentle! I am in love with the balayage you did today! It is worth the trip even if you don't live close. You won't be disappointed!

    I took my daughter here for the first time for a trim. I normally take her to my regular hair dresser who does a great job but I figured since she has curly hair, I'd try going to a salon that specializes in curly hair. Staff was was so very nice and they did a wonderful job, however it really wasn't that much better than her usual cut for 1/5 of the price. $95 + $20 tip is a lot for a children's trim.

    How do I make an appointment?

    Do they cut curly hair wet so that it's even when straightened or only dry curly cuts?

    If you like to blow dry your stylist can adjust the cut. Just let them know you straighten it.

    Does the cost depend on the type of curl and length you have ? Does curl evolution color too?

    No just give them a call, it’s one set price if it’s ur first appt and then each cut after is cheaper

    How much is the curly cut?

    Mine is 50. May depend on length of hair.

With that said there is nothing that justifies the cost of getting your hair done here especially since they triple book you and often leave your hair in the hands of their "assistants"- who are also stretched thin and mostly inexperienced. I get wanting to maximize profit. I have a business myself! So I get it. But imagine my surprise when i book a highlight at 11 and someone else books a highlight at 12 and now my colorist is leaving me to do both. On top of that i think it's generally wrong to not blow out your client who has just gotten color treatment because color looks different wet versus dry. I wasn't informed to book a blow out on top of my color services I was just rushed out of the chair with wet hair day of, which was odd. Additionally, someone who formerly worked on my hair here came into MY workplace for a service and then complained to my boss instead of letting me know directly that there was an issue. I would never do anything like that to anyone, but apparently this is the culture at this salon or what this individual decided was appropriate. Again, I was happy with how my hair came out here. They brought my hair back to normal after it was ruined by another salon, but I don't think I'll be back. Onward!

After they did my hair it was bright orange/yellow, my hair got insanely thin, and i asked them to do a TRIM and they chopped off half my hair. I was genuinely so insecure after them. They still charged me $250 and i can't even believe they let me walk out looking that way. I called them and told them how horrible of a job they did and they said to come in and they would fix it. The last two appointments I let Layla know that I do not want my hair short, I am growing it out. She cut it too short anyway and left my hair looking like a poofy messy bob. Also, the last glaze she put into my hair came out too dark. Each appointment Layla was busy and hurrying to fit in other clients during my appointment time and also during my last appointment had other distractions as well. I don't feel she paid attention or took into consideration what I had said. I was really disappointed in the lack of focus, clients should be treated better. When I got home I immediately cancelled any future appointments. Time to find another salon. Pros - Friendly, fair price Additional Cons - lack of flexibility/availability of appointments, Poor job of shampoo at the sink, most times I would go home to wash my hair again to get the color out, also the chairs and sinks at the shampoo area don't seem to match up and are really uncomfortable and there is only one shampoo girl for the salon

I went back more than once because I had never been there before and gave the hairstylists the benefit of the doubt, hoping that it might just take a few times to build a rapport about what I was looking for. The girl I went to for YEARS wasn't the first one I went to at her salon. The usual girl moved to Florida, so I chose to go to the Salon OWNER to see how she was, and she nailed it in one! And even then I hated the way she would blow out my hair. I would come home fix it myself, and love it to the point where I wanted to call her and thank her for such an awesome cut! After a while I didn't even have to tell her what to do. She took me from extremely long to super short and back again. Fun highlights, the most up to date styles AND eventually started blowing my hair out like a rock star! As for the last stylist I had Girasole, she was as nice as can be...even gave me a nice head massage, AS SHE WAS WASHING MY HAIR. I know sometimes a stylist will wash and style because of staffing or time restraints. Maybe she's a trainee? Either way she's not listed on your website at all. It took an HOUR to cut my hair which was a completely rudimentary long layers style. I even brought a dumbed down picture of the cut I wanted, figuring at the least I'd get a decent trim. Her hands were shaking as she was cutting, the poor girl. (Ironically she blew it out very nicely) Yelp has never taken down a post from me. It was your salon that did. I never mentioned the names of who cut my hair because I was trying to be polite. As the owner I didn't feel I needed to extend that courtesy to you or your salon. I'm not sure where you get the idea that I'm running all over town, trash talking every place I've ever stepped over the threshold. You and my dentist. As for my dentist, The OWNER called me, invited me in to discuss why I was so disappointed and took the time to explain each aspect I mentioned, and now comes in to check on me at each visit. The dentist herself has also taken the time to make sure she optimizes the time needed, and not rush thru the procedures. Problem solved! When I am done with all the work, I will repost how awesome they were about the whole situation. And they will have a very well earned $14,000. I shall now click my heels together and wish myself away from the very angry salon owner behind the curtain. Grow up lady and just take it on the chin. I'm only one person...I doubt I put a huge dent in the floor traffic of your very disappointing salon.
